  •  Also, I caught a glimpse of the new OB without a jacket on, and I really like her sense of fashion. Totally legit reason to stick with an OB right?
I love my OB's fashion sense, it's one of the reasons I've stuck with her (I mean, she's a good doctor too, I guess...)

My midwife always looks great, too.  Plus, she's got this amazing red hair that I love and her name is Dixie.  You can't get much better than that.
  • Sitting in the waiting room for my new OB and there are 4 other pregnant women and we are all wearing stripes. I guess it is a maternity thing! (What does it mean that I already wore stripes all the time pre pregnancy?!)

    I'm wearing stripes today toooo!

My baby shower invites are the print-at-home kind I picked off of Etsy. I printed a bunch and then my printer ran out of ink. Bought more ink($100 worth), came home and put it in, and suddenly my printer wouldn't feed paper.I tried to jam paper into it for a good hour before I gave up.

DH came out of the nursery, where he was assembling a dresser, looked at the printer for half a minute, and informed me that there was a spoon lodged in it. I have no clue how it got there, but man did I feel like a moron.

At the risk of starting a shitstorm, how come you're printing out invitations for your shower?
Just in case she misses this... I think her mom wants to throw the shower, but can't do the work and doesn't want to accept help from others.
yeah, that's basically it, I tried to reply several times and my posts kept disappearing, so I gave up. lol. I'd rather do a bit of labor than risk a "mom meltdown"

  • I'm just cracking up that the first thing that popped into my head for Tuesdays was 'Titty Tuesday' too. Why are we all such pervs? I like reinstating TMI Tuesdays!

  • My due date got moved up a tad and my new dr. wants me to stop working at 36 weeks, which is standard for CA.  A lot of women choose to continue working longer anyway, but she would prefer that I don't given the level of stress and the distance.

    (insert carlton dance gif here)

The thought of being done with work for awhile as of 6/1 makes me want to throw confetti everywhere.

Hehe thanks!  That's exactly the one I was thinking of and I was too lazy too find it!

  • So, I woke up to spotting this morning and an overall crampy feeling.  I called my midwives and we talked about all the possibilities of what could be going on (I had a yeast infection last week, overexerted myself yesterday, baby is low) and we decided I need to be off my feet for today and monitor.  It's now almost 12 hours later and I'm still feeling on & off mild contractions.  It mostly stops when I lay on my left side, but I can't lie on my friggin left side all day.  My mom came to help today, but I don't know if she can tomorrow.

This is just a whine, which should probably go in the bitchfest, but I feel like I'd rather post it here, since its mostly regulars.
Ugh!  So sorry you are going through that!  I wouldn't call that a "whine" or a bitchfest!  Are you able to see one of the midwives if this keeps up?

  • My MIL stopped over today and brought my baby shower invitation that my sister is planning ( was a surprise) Keyword... Was a surprise.

    Thank you @LiteraChick.
@TallMomma29 yes - she'll probably come visit tomorrow if nothing is better.  She said if there's any red blood to call, and we'll probably have to go to the ER, but it hasn't been red.  There's no pattern to the contractions.  I've been chugging water as much as I can.  Yesterday I was slinging DD's heavy stroller around like it was no big thing and walked way more than normal.  I'm hoping it's just my body saying slow down.

Yes, hopefully that's what it is!  Take it easy mama!  I had some cramping and very light spotting after carrying a box of heavy binders to my car (including up two flights of stairs rather than taking the elevator).  It stopped after a day and I figured that was my body telling me to calm down too!

  • I'm already waddling too and I don't even have a huge belly!  It is a combo of the fact that LO has decided from the very beginning that my bladder is a fantastic pillow, and now every time I stand up after sitting down for a while, the part where my legs connect to my pelvis feels super sore for the first few minutes of walking again and like my legs might pop out of the sockets if I'm not careful.

I have tried to convince the baby to move up to vast expanse of my super long torso for awhile, but apparently she's all "no thanks I'm good down here!"

  • I only waddle when I have to move fast. Normal walking pace, I can still manage, but anything faster, I look like a duck.

  • Just needed to share this somewhere.

I just got back from the hospital tour and have to say I'm having a minor freak out. I HATE hospitals, and until now, when thinking about having LO I had a nice generic "hospital" image in my head. Now I have seen where I will be and it looks, feels, and smells like a hospital (goodbye ignorant bliss). Glad I got the information, but my nerves are now getting the better of me. Not great for the white coat syndrome I already have.

  • AW: we won a big bid today, and I'm getting lots of kudos for it. Sales guy gave me a $500 Amex GC as thanks. I want to buy all the cloth diapers!!!!!!
My brain first quickly read that as "big bird"...I was like, what? Haha!

Congrats...you can get so much more than cloth diapers with that if you are willing to not get the super expensive $20 a pop ones :)

I signed myself up for a breastfeeding class and it's for me and my partner. Well, he's going to watch DS (plus how much help can he be, they are my breasts??? That was a serious question though so please enlighten me)

Anyways they said I could bring someone else like a mom or friend but I can't think of anyone that would want to do it with me. Would you just go by yourself or do you feel like it's important to have someone/support there??

DH went with me last time around. I'm glad it did because he got some great information and I didn't have to worry about trying to remember everything. I think it helped him be even more supportive of me and the process especially during the early weeks when you're just trying to figure it out.
  • @tourqeyes, I went to a class by myself when pregnant with DS. The only reason DH might have been of help is if he remembered something I didn't at some point...but really, I didn't feel it was crucial.

  • It's suddenly raining so hard here (it doesn't do that here!) and I forgot what that sound meant and thought the world might be ending for a sec... Because that's rational!
Started thundering two nights ago and I was half asleep my dog started barking and DH calmed him down. I vaguely remember that, then really woke up to a loud boom and DH then had to calm me down. I was all 'What? How?!'

  • @2ag, are you one of our pharmacists? I can't imagine having to work that long with no break this far along. I hope those days are few and far between for you.

@symphony4586, big hugs. You're allowed to feel however you feel about something like that.
