My baby shower invites are the print-at-home kind I picked off of Etsy. I printed a bunch and then my printer ran out of ink. Bought more ink($100 worth), came home and put it in, and suddenly my printer wouldn't feed paper.I tried to jam paper into it for a good hour before I gave up.

DH came out of the nursery, where he was assembling a dresser, looked at the printer for half a minute, and informed me that there was a spoon lodged in it. I have no clue how it got there, but man did I feel like a moron.

I have to print the invites for my shower. My MIL bought the print at home kind from AC moore and said here you take these I have no idea how they work. Part of me wants to say you work with computers every day of your life you could prob figure this out on your fancy new Mac... then I remember her being worried about choosing them because theyd take up too much ink. Well played, MIL, well played.

because my mom doesn't have a computer or printer >___< she's paying for my whole shower, and was adamant about it being "hers" but she can't drive, lives alone on disability, and is quite often "not all there." I know it means a lot to her, (and I don't want her to go off the deep end) so I said she could "throw it" but I'm pretty much doing all the labor :S I know I'm throwing "baby shower etiquette" out the window, but I'd rather do this than have to deal with my mom being looney about not getting to "throw my shower"

my mom doesn't have a computer. She was adamant about "throwing my shower" despite not really being able to do anything. She lives alone, doesn't drive, and is often "not all there" She's providing baby shower funds, while I do the labor. I know it means a ton to her because I let my MIL throw my bridal shower, and I'd rather print and glue some stuff than risk having a mom meltdown.

Just in case she misses this... I think her mom wants to throw the shower, but can't do the work and doesn't want to accept help from others.

I turned in my notice at work today... I hated disappointing my boss, who is a really good guy, but I gotta do what I gotta do! I really hope me being hope helps ease the stress that we go through because my husband works rotating shifts.

Had a super shitty day and laid down to cry it out... I'm pretty sure my little girl just fist bumped my hand. It was sooo weird and tiny and awesome. Makes it easier to forget the bad stuff

I am going to be a huge ball of nerves for like the next hour or so.

MIL just came over to drop something off and asked DH to go over and look in her attic. Apparently one of my idiot SILs left the front door unlocked or open and then they found the door thing to attic open and hear funny noises.

DH has gone over to check it out. We're hoping its a different SIL that just broke up with her BF and called MIL crying that she has no where to go.

DH is armed and I know will be careful but I'm still freaking out.

Oh, yikes! Definitely hope it's the SIL! Let us know b/c I'm worried for them.

Thankfully he just called to say he's on his way back home and that it was nothing. Bad drafty house design and some crazy wind caused the attic door to be ajar.

Sigh. Can't tell if in up early because I was able to sleep in more than 20 minute increments for the first time in a few days so my body thinks it is 'rested' or my damn acid reflux.

But I woke corbin up with the light from my phone in our dark bedroom. I think he is kicking me to say "go back to sleep it's too bright in here"

Ok, I'm going to AW my husband here for a minute, especially after complaining about him on the MMBF yesterday. He made me so irritated before he left for work last night, I barely spoke to him all evening. When he came to bed, it woke me up a little, like it always does, and I felt him reach over and cuddle up to rub my stomach and say goodnight to Spencer, then kiss me goodnight, which kinda melted my heart a little. Then I wake up this morning to a note left on the computer desk for me:

"I know that you are having insecurities about your body right now, but you don't see what I see. I see the same beautiful woman that I fell in love with. Only now you have life growing inside of you, and that is the most beautiful thing in the world. All these things you see as flaws, I see as another way to realize there is life inside of you... my son. There is no greater thing to me than to watch all these changes and know that they mean in just a few short months I will get to see our baby boy. I don't get to experience feeling him move and kick like you do, so watching the changes in you is how I get to enjoy this. There is nothing more amazing or more beautiful than seeing the one you love being pregnant. After all, the gift of life is precious, and being part of what makes it happen is a blessing."

This from the man who has NEVER written a love letter to me in his life. I'm sitting here in happy tears.

There's a room next to my office that certain people go into every day. Every day I hear griping about how difficult it is to lock the door. They stand out there for at least five minutes daily struggling with this. Someone else was just complaining to maintenance about the lock. I have no problems. You turn the key one way to unlock, turn it back the other way to lock, pull key out. Is everyone stupid but me?!

I had a busy day at work yesterday and didn't have anytime to really check in over here until after DS was down for the night. Now that it's a slow day, it's Tuesday and there's not an interesting weekly thread on Tuesdays to keep up with. Boring. I'm going to have to lurk TTGP for the Tuesday Trolls to keep myself entertained.

It's been suggested before, why can't we do UO Tuesday?

I love field trip days. My kids are in art class right now, then I take them to Spanish, then we leave to eat McDonald's (coworkers let me pick - bless them) and to see a play and play on a big ole playground. I wish every day was field trip day!

Even though it's not written in the text message, sometimes you can reply STOP and it'll send you a message back saying you have unsubscribed...It's worth a try

However if it is a scam, replying to a message can also sign you up for expensive deals. I just block the caller when I get phone calls or messages I don't want repeated.

Well, the new person started at work yesterday. I'm sure she will be great once she is up and running but seriously she couldn't even get logged onto her computer this morning. Really. It was "No, don't click the switch user button, click 'log on', instead."

I am not a patient person in the best of times and pregnant I am even less so. The next three months should be fun.

Just read an article about a man that beat his daughters boyfriend after finding them showering together. The father was arrested and the article questioned the reasonableness of this as "he was just doing what any father would have done"

I sure hope my husband would never even consider putting his hands on a boy for being naked with my daughter unless it was against her will.

Am I just strange for thinking beating someone up is not a reasonable response... ?

I have to agree that beating the kid was an overreaction.

Now, the Texas man who beat his 5 year old daughter's abuser to death a few years ago? Yeah. I don't blame him at all.

Sitting in the waiting room for my new OB and there are 4 other pregnant women and we are all wearing stripes. I guess it is a maternity thing! (What does it mean that I already wore stripes all the time pre pregnancy?!)

Also, I caught a glimpse of the new OB without a jacket on, and I really like her sense of fashion. Totally legit reason to stick with an OB right?

This should have been posted on MMBF, but since it's Tuesday I'll post here. DH came home last night with a CHRISTMAS card from his stepfather. SF mailed the card to SIL with the request that she give it to us. The kicker, it had a $200 check in it. Thanks SIL! Totally could have used that before now.

Oh and we have seen SIL several times since Christmas. SF came
to visit a few weeks ago (he is from NY and we are in AL) and we feel like total douchebags for not telling him thank you while he was here at least.
