I feel you.  It's zero here this morning. I just want to wear flip flops.

I'd like to even just have the option to wear flip flops! Or go places without having to pack my belly into my coat just to zip it up! I refuse to buy a maternity winter jacket now lol. Why do we live here?!
  • I just ugly cried after dropping DD off at preschool. She screamed/cried for 80 minutes because she didn't want to wear her uniform. She's never done this. I had to wrestle her into a uniform and then wrestle her into the car while she was screaming. Got to school late and she was still crying when I left her with the teacher. I feel like a bad mom. :(
  • LindsayDesigner I can't believe you MADE that. I am beyond impressed!

  • At my appointment on Friday, my fundal height was measuring 33 weeks instead of 30. My last baby was 9.12 at birth. I'm starting to freak out a tad, but we get another ultrasound to see what percentile baby is. Looking forward to another peek at baby.
  • We had a baby shower Saturday! It was a blast and we got tons of cute clothes. My H spent a lot of time snuggling my cousin's 3 month old baby girl. He's going to be a complete natural and I can't wait to see how much he loves his little girl. Now I just have to wait until the second shower is over and then I can stock up on the things we still need.

I had an appointment yesterday where I finally asked my doctor a ton of questions about what to do if I think I'm in labor, when to quit traveling further than an hour away, how long she'll let me be pregnant before inducing, and other stuff. She said I am measuring exactly on track for 28 weeks. This pregnancy has been so uneventful, I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop, and I'm almost positive I'll have to be induced at 41 weeks. The good news is, even if I am induced at 41 weeks, my H will likely still be able to make the wedding he's in on the 28th...thank goodness!

I also had an appt with the derm this morning. He was super happy and surprised with the vast improvement my skin has made! It still looks pretty horrible since there are bright red spots all over where the pimples used to be....but I'm getting less and less and he doesn't think I will end up with scars. He prescribed natural sunshine along with the antibiotics and cream I'm already on :) It's funny because over the weekend I saw my out of town family for the first time in a long time, and my uncle commented on how badly I'm breaking out. When I told him it's a lot better than it was, he said..."It's BETTER?!" "Is there something you can put on it???" People are silly.
  • @ugabamafans - Thanks! Feel better. I can usually snap her out of her tantrums, but this was nuts. Poor girl was tired since yesterday was her first day back after spring break, even though she slept 11.5 hours. Glad it's over though!

I can't believe we're due in TWO months!  So many babies will start coming NEXT month!

(probably not me, as I'm due the 9th and DD was induced a week late, but whatev). ;)

Ummmm...thanks for freaking me out! Time needs to slow down!

  • I am in rare, lunatic-like form today.

Things need to get done around our house (like, the roof needs a patch maybe and porches need to get painted) and for some reason it is impossible for anyone to come out and give us an estimate or even pick up the phone.

    It's making me super anxious.

On another SS note, I don't know what color to paint the porch.  Our house is white with green shutters, a red bench/swing and the actual 'deck' part was grey.

Now we are going to have blue shutters and swing but I don't know what color to paint the deck/floor.  Grey again?  Brown?  Blue?  WHY IS THIS SO DIFFICULT???

I did my 3 hour glucose test today. There were 2 other women doing it so I had someone to talk to so that was nice. I did not know that they would be drawing blood every hour so now my arms are nice and sore and slightly bruised. I look like a pregnant druggie : (
We are also having my dad and his wife over for dinner and I'm making something I have never made before so that'll be interesting.
  • @LindsayDesigner - That is amazing! You should sell these :)

Incident #2: the dude panhandling outside the grocery store last night. Other people ignored him and walked past. I did the same, but he began following me across the parking lot toward my car, asking me to stop and harassing me. I felt like complete fatigued crud, turned around, and snapped, "WHAT?" Because -- dude -- following me to my car is not fucking cool. He asked me for money. I half-yelled at him, in the middle of the parking lot road, "DOES IT SEEM LIKE I'M GOING TO GIVE YOU ANY FUCKING MONEY?" That worked.

I think I would find this terrifying.

I hope things get better @wtfisup!

  • @lest12 with your description of the other colors, I'd stick with grey!

Thanks @lizardbreath14! As much as I wanted to do something different to switch it up, I think you are right!

I hope the blue shutters/bench instead of red and green will be enough to give it a different look...

    Thanks :)

  • We bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee about a month ago with cash.  Yesterday, I got a letter from the dealership where we bought it giving my credit score (which is excellent) where they had run a credit report and stating that they were rejecting me for financing due to the fact that I didn't not have a current vehicle loan.

I just found that it was funny that they rejected me for a car loan (which we didn't apply for) for not having a current car loan.

Also WTH are you running credit reports on my for non-existent loan applications???

Anyone else ever had this happen before?

No, but it certainly makes me question their competence with anyone's financial info.  Morons!

I am super jealous of all of you ladies who are giving notice and are going to be staying home after your LOs come; it just won't work for us financially right now.

    Me too.

I'm hoping to do some job searching while I'm home on leave, just in case there's something else out there...

  • I kind of feel like I'm getting the best of both worlds. I really love my job and working is crucial to my sanity. I don't do really well at home for long periods. Thus, I get 12 weeks off with pay to be with the baby and enjoy summer + my husband will be off for most of the time with me. So we get to tag team new parenthood, visit family, grill out, etc. But then, I get to go back to work and not be trapped with the baby.

  • Random.....I don't want to give birth, I want to have the baby but I do not want to actually birth it. I am scared shitless of giving birth! DH isn't concerned, he has delivered lots of babies and it is just a part of life. It is looking like we are going to have a c-section which makes me feel ok but still I do not want to give birth. Sorry for the randomness but I just got overwhelmed with this feeling of dread!

I do feel like I couldn't have planned this baby any better... I am SO excited to be off during the summer and to be able to enjoy some summer living with the baby here.  I'm really looking forward to it.

  • I had the spring cleaning bug this past weekend myself.  The weather was terrible so my second floor got totally scrubbed down.  It felt so good!

  • I need everyone with the nesting and spring cleaning bug to come to my house! I have so much to do, I keep waiting for my nesting to kick in to get the drive instead of getting overwhelmed.
