I attended the first funeral ever, that I didn't shed a tear. It was my MILs. She was a rotten lady and we never got along. I feel awful about my lack of emotions. I was so annoyed that everyone was hugging me and touching my baby. I wanted to run a and hide in a closet.
@MommyAmes2 I'm sorry for your family's loss, but don't feel bad about the lack of emotions. I'm sure the annoyances of people helped fuel the fire to not really care too much.
If you have a professional job, you should speak in a professional manner. Slang either written in e-mails or spoken during meetings/conference calls/etc. is unprofessional. I will judge you and your education. I will mentally red-pen your e-mail and shake my head at your poorly written message.
Please leave the ebonics at home. Ain't nobody got time for dat.

Also along that line, background images in work emails are annoying and unnecessary. It can also make the text very hard to read when you add that cutesy font.
I'm glad my coworker put in his two weeks notice. He sucks. I'm taking over half his files and I'm amazed he was allowed to even transition to this position. It's TERRIBLE to the point where I have to restart everything from scratch! Who the hell trained you???!!!

Yes!! Someone should also note that Comic Sans is not professional. It was cute in 8th grade... not now.

Yes!! Ugh, and along the e-mail lines: THERE IS NO NEED TO REPLY ALL if you are only addressing 1 person in reply. You should be fined for clogging up others inboxes because you keep hitting REPLY ALL!

Just kidding! To each their own, right? I posted yesterday about a girl I know who regularly (at least once a week) gives her kid fries (along with chicken fingers or pizza!). That would make me side eye, but every once in a while, who cares! I'm sure we'll hold out as long as possible, but it's bound to happen in the near future.
The "Macarena" came on the radio as a 90's flashback this morning. I had to do it for a least a couple of minutes while driving to work. Can I just add how ridiculous the lyrics are? And really how awful it is?

@peteyrisha My brain reads your screen name as Irish Petey. So, I have a theory that you are the Irish version of @Petey1106. Therefore, you must exist in a parallel universe. The two of you must never meet for it would certainly cause a black hole.
Whew, glad I got that off my chest.

Another play off professional emails....ffs please put your contact info in your signature!!!! Maybe not your whole address in replies (that could be in the first email only) but your phone number should be in all replies!
The whole fries thing stems from when I went out to lunch with a friend and her 18 month old had chicken, fries, and veggies. She ate about 3 bites of chicken, no veggies and all the fries, dipped in BBQ sauce. She's a chunky baby and both get parents are big people. I don't want LO to get toa point where she won't eat anything but things like fries, chicken nuggets, hot dogs, etc.
My job requires me to build relationships with my clients. Some are professional and some are more casual. I act differently based on the client and what I need to do to make them feel comfortable....that's in person though. Emails are always professional... That crap's traceable. Calibri all the way on email. Work docs are times roman.
It's 9 in the morning, I just got LO down for her morning nap. I could go do my hair, get dressed, eat breakfast, perhaps work out and maybe even watch a little tv...
Ooooooorrrr I could go back to bed.
It's a shitty confession, but that's all I've got.

Good night ladies!
Ugh I wish E would nap long enough for me to do any of those things. Her morning nap lasts maybe 20 minutes in her crib.
I can completely see why people get rid of their animals when they have a baby. We would never do it and i believe once we are passed the infant stage it may be easier, but my dog has been getting on my last nerve. If we dont pick up every little tiny thing before we leave, she will chew things up. Yesterday she ate a magazine. Yes, ate. Every s ingle day when LO goes down for a nap, that means it's freak the fuck out time for the dog and she runs around the house, slides into the slider, barks at everything, drops her hard bones onto the hardwood floor, and is basically as noisy as possible. I can't leave LO on the floor without the dog either attacking her toys or licking her face and mouth. She won't listen and she bolted out the door yesterday and took off into the woods behind our house. I love her but she's fucking irritating.
We tried CIO-lite last night; E woke up and I waited 5 minutes before I went to get him. Worst 5 minutes ever.

"If you're still my small babe or you're all the way grown, my promise to you is you're never alone. You are my angel, my darling, my star...and my love will find you, wherever you are."
@kwrecks, what kind of dog do you have, and how old is she? Is she crate trained? We crate trained both of my dogs, and they were crated whenever we were out of the house until we could trust them not to destroy things. Now, our remaining dog (a 6.5 year old pug - our older pug passed in August) stays in our spare bedroom when we're gone. He could probably have run of the whole house since he sleeps most of the day, but we don't want to have to examine the entire house before we leave every day.
Exercise and mental stimulation can also help decrease destruction, hyperactivity, etc. - I know it's really hard to fit that in with an infant, but if you don't already, maybe a dog walker or doggy day care and some puzzle toys? Our dog is very low energy, but even he can get hyper without enough activity, so we have a walker come every weekday and get him out for long walks on the weekends. He was 100% trained (therapy dog certified) before LO arrived, but we try to work on training whenever we can and incorporate things that are helpful now that LO is here (teaching him to stay off her playmat, leave her toys alone, not lick her, etc.).
You might already be doing all of this, but I figured I'd throw it out there. Balancing dog + baby is not easy!
@Caz1221 she's a 2 year old French Bulldog. She has always been stubborn. She is crate trained, but until LO was born she never needed to be crated when we were gone. We do take her to day care once a week which helps. Once the weather gets better I'll be able to get out with her and get some of her energy out. I think a big thing right now is just that she's jealous. Before LO, all of our attention was on her and she doesn't like having to share the attention. I think it will get better one LO is old enough to pay back with her.

I have been in tears the last 3 nights because it has taken 4 hours to get DD to sleep and even after she only sleeps for 2 hours at a time. Sometimes I just feel like I can't take it anymore. I often feel helpless, like what can I do? What should I do? I am so exhausted and have daily headaches, stomach cramps, and my eyes feel like sand paper.
I sometimes wish I could go back to the newborn phase, because that was actually easier. WTH!!

Sending you lots of hugs Little M, let mommy sleep!! You need sleep so you can grow!
