Also, it would never occur to me to give my child more than just first name, middle name, last name.
I don't get extra middle names, I guess.
ETA: Like, did anyone ever read the Outlander series? Jamie's full name is something like James Alexander Malcolm Mackenzie Fraser (I think I got it all). Why so many names?
One of my husbands coworkers named their son something I cant remember. The first and last name are normal but the middle name is "The Dude". Parentheses and all.
Ugh Lundyn. I apologize if that's the name of anyone on here, but it's just one of those names...My college roommate had a sister named that. Sweet girl, but the name drove me nuts.
Also, one coworker has a son named Maverick. Another has a son named Soldier. What...?
ETA: I mean, I like the Air Force and candy, but I'm not going to name my kid AWACS or Tootsie Roll.
My MIL likes to tell the cashier at Starbucks that her name is princess/gorgeous/duchess/your majesty/ beautiful...or some other fun name like that, so that when they call her name, it's like; "this latte is for you, gorgeous." Hehe

BRILLIANT! I give pretend names all the time just for fun, but I've never thought to give them a title! Plus, then you have that written on your coffee cup for the morning. I'm so doing this tomorrow. I think I'll go with Captain Awesome.
A lady I work with has a son (hes 19) and his senior year there was a girl named " Justsayno" pronounced just how it looks. I didn't believe her until she brought in the yearbook. Poor girl.
Baby Gibson is due October 8th! (Bfp: January 29th)

My sin has 2 middle names, but nothing odd or off the wall. We had already picked his name, but not applied for his birth certificate/SSN, when my Dad died suddenly, so we added my father's name as a second middle name. So I guess I get it to some extent, but the 300 names is crazy to me.
Lil'Curtis and his little sister Lil'Daphne... I lie to you not, those are their legit legal names. Of course their parents are Curtis and Daphne.
I snorted reading this.
My annoyance is also the 'y' names, especially when it's a boy name, but with a Y instead of another vowel it's magically a girls name.. My niece's name is Evyn. Dad is Kevin. Cat is Evelyn.
When I was in the classroom still, I had some gems. I had a poor boy named Money. And we had a La-ah too (Ladasha). I also had two brothers names Rick and Ricky. The poor boys were not twins, but one failed so they ended up in the same grade and the same class. I always felt bad for those two.
My sons middle name is Zephyr. DH picked it but I like it. Just curious..does no one know how to spell unique or is it just this new thing that I'm not aware of? My nephews name is Shyden, his moms is Shy. I knew a girl in elementary named Twinkle. I'm into unpopular names, just not off the wall crazy. I'm having such a hard time coming up with another boys name.
I despise unique spellings, bc I have one and my name has been mispronounced or misspelled my whole life. Love my mom though.
My friends are normal name people, nobody has given their kids weird names. A friend's SIL just named her son Bowden which I think is weird, but it's not completely off the wall. I have nothing interesting to add, but this thread is fun!
ETA: I thought of one! I do have an acquaintance who named their son James Tiberius, as in Kirk from Star Trek. But thankfully to most everyone he's just James, which is completely normal
One of the girls I know named her kids Brytlyn and Skylyn.. She often offers name suggestions to our pregnant mutual friends... No joke, her "favorite" suggestion is Blayden.
I met a guy named Royal once...thought that was kind of weird. And our farrier (guy who puts horseshoes on horses) named his baby Colt. Not so bad, I guess, but within the context I'm afraid he'll hate his name when he grows up.
My husbands name is Colt, and the name grew with him. He was never teased about it or anything. He does get called Colton and Cole a lot though.
@kaniela17 it's youneek instead of unique because it makes fun of the people who spell a name in a crazy(wrong) way because it is "unique". I.e. replacing random vowels with "y"
These two aren't bad names, but I just feel like the parents gave up when they were picking them: boy/girl twins named Eric and Erica. Really?! You couldn't come up with something different? My old co-worker was part of a boy/girl twin set: Heath and Heather. Her big problem was her credit score getting super messed up with his stuff being on hers and her stuff being on his because they had the same DOB and the names were so similar. The credit companies made the mistake, but it was up to Heather and Heath to get it all sorted out.
My sis and SIL are teachers, and they always laugh when they have a Serenity in their class because that girl is always anything but serene.
Also, I have no problem with the two middle name thing, but make sure you know how it's reported to the Social Security Department (if you're a US citizen). I'm an accountant, and I can't tell you the number of times we get returns rejected for two middle names because they aren't matching up correctly with their SSN. Is there a space? Is there a hyphen? Is it actually listed as two first names and one middle name? Just make sure you're very clear if you're going down the multiple name path.

BIL's wife is Roberta. Her brother is Robert. Her dad is also Robert. (They go by Berta, Robby, and Bob, which is why it took me 2 whole years to make the connection.)

Siblings at my kids daycare....Prince, Princess and Gracious.
I work with teen moms and they have some interesting choices and like to be different. One mom named her kids Izsik and Jakob. And they tend to give them a million middle names.
I've got another one! Was talking about this subject with a friend today, and she told me that her cousin named her son Espn (pronounced Espen). She's not even a teenager! She's in her 30's!

Oh a cousin on my in laws side named her second son draven. I hate it. Everyone told her not to but she did anyways.
I could think of more if I didn't have a severe case of pregnancy brain.
