You don't understand the appeal of Benedict Cumberbatch / think he's fug / don't know who he is? WATCH SHERLOCK.  Until you do, your negative opinion of him will not be taken seriously.

  • I so want to see this movie with DD, but she's so not ready for it.  She's sensitive to things - she covers her ears and looks away when people make bad choices that will hurt other people's feelings (like Grover lying to his mom about learning to read in the book "Grover Learns to Read", or Snuffy accidentally selling Big Bird's stuffed bear in an episode of Sesame Street).  So, most movies are right out.  (She's OK with Rio, because she first watched that when she was much younger, and it's fairly tame in the "bad choices that hurt people's feelings" category.)  Some day... like when she's seven...

Now I completly understand what all the fuss is about.

    I love it.

Species, shmecies. My daughter is currently in love with the movie, too. I wonder how long it will be before she's gets into the whole animal-human thing.
I had the biggest crush on Goofy's son Max from A Goofy Movie.

  • The definition of feminism is wanting to be treated equally. Like it'd be cool to get paid equally like we're supposed to and stuff.
Acting sexy is not anti-feminist as far as I am aware. Shaming someone (or some animated character) for wanting to be sexy might be though.

I still haven't seen Frozen yet. Sorry I fail to contribute properly :(

  • No, Disney movies aren't perfect.
Yes, I was also very upset over them changing Merida's shape when she became official.
Unfortunately, I think getting them to make a less beautiful, more normal princess is far, far off still :(
It is also unfortunate that little kids are being constantly given unrealistic expectations of beauty.
But I feel like some people go so far as to make beauty bad. I've seen people saying skinny girls aren't "real" because they don't have curves. We can't take it so far as to be mean or cruel to the ones who are naturally beautiful, skinny, etc.
There's also a lot here that goes into my theory on building up little kid's self-esteem but I'll stop here because I'm already feeling I went tl;dr.

@MissMusic team jaded bitch! I haven't seen it, but I'm generally not a fan of your Disney Princess movies. I'll take Robin Hood any day though.
That was my favorite Disney movie as a kid!  My BFF and I watched it ALL THE TIME.  The Sword in the Stone was right up there, too.
OMG, I had a big crush on the Disney Robin Hood when I was little.  Cartoon bestiality FTW!
My favorite was always The Sword in the Stone.  I'm a total Arthurian legend fan.  I think Madam Mimm might be too much for DD, or I would totally have shown it to her by now.  I *love* with they become different animals!

  • I really think all of the hype surrounding this movie is making winter NEVER LEAVE.

  • I think Wreck It Ralph is better than both Tangled and Frozen but this team making them all is pretty awesome.

Any of them is better than Cars 2 for the millionth time. (And DS has stollen all of DD's Tangled pull ups - he's been in real undies for a while)

  • Why does Prince Hans save Elsa from the crossbow guy in the ice castle? Didn't he want her dead so he could complete his Erindale domination plan?

    **SPOILER**

Plus, the fact that he was a bad guy is a significant twist. If he hasn't saved her, it would have been revealed too early...and it would have turned Anna against him if she had found out. (He doesn't care at the end because of her health and the fact that he thinks he can rule solo).

  • I think he was just trying to make himself look good and merciful so it'd be easier to take over later, people would trust him.

But the crossbow guy would have killed her, not Hans. He acts very quickly to thwart the crossbow guy, seemingly without thought. I think he either wasn't all bad, or he thought he needed Elsa to end the winter before he could take over. When he realized she didn't know how to end winter he tries to kill her...super harsh, Hans. I think about this too much.

  • I think he's definitely all bad. He wants to be the hero so if crossbow guy kills Elsa, he's not the hero. Also, Anna is missing at this point and he's not yet married to her. If Elsa and Anna are both dead, he has no claim to anything. Keeping Elsa alive prolongs the crisis, so maybe he's stalling to buy time in case Anna is dead and he needs a new plan.

I think you are right, I just really wanted him to have a redeeming side. Like the mother in tangled...she really didn't have to let rapunzel heal flynn, but for some reason she does. Why?

  • Okay we saw it tonight. Loved it, BUT I think Tangled soundtrack was better. I'm not saying, just saying.
  • Wow, a lot of thoughts about this movie. I, eh, wow.
  • Why does Prince Hans save Elsa from the crossbow guy in the ice castle? Didn't he want her dead so he could complete his Erindale domination plan?

Because he would have revealed himself as the bad guy. His plan at that point was still to marry Ana, which wouldn't happen if he allowed her sister to be killed, so he continued to play the role of gallant hero.

Agreed...beyond Build A Snowman and Let It Go, I don't care for the other Frozen songs. I've Got A Dream is one of my favorites, though.

No, mother goethel in Tangled was not redeemed. Rapunzel said she would leave willingly and do whatever mother wanted if she could heal him. It was just a means to an end. I don't really think she had second thoughts about STABBING him. Or that much of a soft spot for Rapunzel's feelings.

  • Yellow flag biotches!

DD hasn't seen the movie yet but Let It Go is on constant replay in the car. She whines after the last note ends and sighs in contentment when she hears the first bars play, every time. Movie arrives Monday.
