One of my college friends just texted me telling me she is going to be in town next weekend. I asked if she wanted to stay with us and she said they were getting a hotel bc they were probably going out and didn't want to wake me and the baby up.

Am I ridiculous for being hurt that she didn't even invite me to go out with them?

No but it is no good to feel hurt :) she is probably just trying to be considered of your condition. Try to find a time you can get together to catch up instead.
  • DD turns three tomorrow. THREE. I am in denial, I can't believe that tiny little newborn is going to be three whole years old. Sob.

Also, on the way to work this morning I realized I hadn't felt the baby move yet (and he/she is usually a morning mover and shaker) and had a ridiculous moment of anxiety where I was sure we'd lost him/her.

    #ICan'tKeepCalmIHaveAnxiety

@sarahvol131 My DD turns three in three weeks. I'm with you! Have you felt the baby yet?

  • I was just listening to old vmails. It sounds so weird to hear his voice and even weirder to hear him say I❤️U. Ugh. I can't believe I haven't talked to him in over 2 months. So surreal that I'm even in this position.

I'm so sorry. :(  I will admit that I still have a voicemail of my ex H saved on my phone.  I should have deleted it  years ago, but it just feels weird to pull the trigger.  It's actually not even a nice voicemail...it's one where he's yelling at me, wondering where I am.  But I couldn't bear to delete it because I wasn't sure if I'd ever hear his voice again.  Big hugs to you...this stuff sucks.

Ugh! That is uber obvious that it is wrong. I would be calling them and telling them that they are fixing their screw up. How could you look at that and even think that it looks right?

Wow that sucks! Will they fix it?
  • Whew! I think I was seriously behind 800+ posts and I just read through them all! My Fridays are pretty boring when it's poker night for DH ;)@tourqeyes‌ hopefully they will come back out and fix it at no cost to you! My random thought for the day is I think I'm becoming addicted to Rita's Ice...I feel sad I didn't get any today and I even had it twice this week!

I am so grateful to SO that he doesn't treat me like a delicate flower because I am pregnant. His allergies are horrible, and its allergy season now until August for him. Our lawn mower broke down and just got repaired but it's been way too long since the lawns got done... Well today he was bbqing outside and since I was just hanging out watching him, I had him show me how to work the weed eater and mower. He was surprised but taught me, and I took care of the whole backyard. Admittedly I was pretty proud. I also hosed off the patio, set up our new outdoor lighting, and generally straightened up. His friend was out running and stopped by to say hi, and then made some ~jokes~ about how SO should be taking care of me and how could he let me mow the lawn when that's very clearly his job! I snapped and told him I was trying to help out since SO does so much and cutting the grass irritates his allergies. Then the attention shifted to me and why am I not relaxing/taking care of myself/protecting myself and my baby better?? Me, baby, and now my yard are doing excellently, thankyouverymuch.

I'm jealous it is nice enough to mow your grass and BBQ outside. I cannot wait for those days, and while it's going to be in the 60s today, theres snow in the forecast again next week. This winter has been relentless! And the grass is not growing or green. I also get annoyed with people overly interested in the physical things I do pregnant. DH was sick and I shoveled our driveway and got lots of comments. At work theres a lady who wont let me lift anything at all. I'm still lifting my 35 lb son occasionally. I understand the concern, but it feels like its undermining. I'm not going to push myself too far, I know my limits. Enjoy your yard and your pleasant weather!
  • He said they would try and come out and fix it Monday. I will stare at it until then. What kills me is they put in more holes where the fence was supposed to go and didn't put it that far. It's like they ran out of fence. Smh

And mama - I hate when people treat me like I can't do something because I'm pregnant. I know my limits and people checking on me every two seconds will not change my mind although super annoying. We were volunteering yesterday to sort food for a few hours and everyone was "are you ok? Should you take a break? Do you want a cart to help bring stuff around?" I appreciate the concern but I know when I've had enough.

Soooooo, it would have been too complicated for them to say, match it to where the other fence ends, huh? Smh.

  • @mamakiss‌ and @tourqeyes‌ , I hate when people act like I'm handicap because I'm pregnant! When we moved back in January everyone was acting like I shouldn't be carrying stuff. It was incredibly annoying! My MIL is the worst about it too, when I was getting some last minute things ready for our housewarming party, I was about to stand on a chair to clean a big mirror we have and she told me I wasn't allowed to do that and got my DH to come do it.

Me too. I'm starting from scratch so I've already spent a ridiculous amount of money on them. I've really only bought "staples" so far, but I need staples in multiple colors. I refuse to be seen in public in something that doesn't make my bump look like an obvious bumb.
I'm having a coat dilema now. My spring coat barely buttons now, but I don't want to buy another one for the (hopefully!) 6 weeks I'll need it.

I'm gonna freak the hell out on Target. If you do not have something available online OR in stores take it off your damn site or make it really obvious! GRR

Seriously! What the actual eff does that even mean? Is is temporarily gone or never coming back? Part of the bedding set I like is not available online or in the store...so what am I supposed to do? So irritating, how does one part of a set go unavailable?
This same exact thing happened to us when we registered for our wedding! We had quite a few things at Target and checked our registry online a couple weeks later. At least half of it was no longer available and people said they had so much trouble finding things from our list in the store. We ended up basically clearing that registry and moving everything to Bed Bath and Beyond. It makes me nervous to register for baby things at Target!

  • I woke up this morning after not sleeping well for the last few hours because I was getting hungry, so hungry I had a headache and felt like puking. I came downstairs to make peanut butter toast because I saw the jar in the pantry last night. Well guess what, DH put back an empty jar. He also finished the butter and didn't take a new stick out of the fridge. So cereal it was.

I can't stand DH's eating habits. He's a grazer. A bite of this here, two bites of that there, so that when I go to get something there's not even a reasonable serving left. He did that with my Ben and Jerry's Phish Food and he's been doing that with my sour watermelon candy. Now the peanut butter. Tomorrow at the store, I'm buying all my own food and writing my name on it.

It'd be even worse if you saw that in your Facebook feed and recognized the location as your house. "Thanks for letting us stay for the weekend!"

Our best friends did the deed in our house, got a pretty little girl out of it too :) they were staying with us for 3 months.

  • Question that I don't feel deserves its own SS thread...and I "know" you guys better so I'd rather have your opinions vs Baby Names board.  DH told me he likes the name Brecken over Easton tonight, which is fine, I like the name Brecken too.  However, I used to babysit a Brecken in my hometown and he happens to be a 3rd or 4th cousin.  Not close enough that we do any family stuff together, but our town only has 500 people in it and he's the only Brecken, so would it be weird if we went with that name too? We're not dying to have it, but I can't figure out if we should even consider it or not because of that situation.
Do you live in the town any longer?

Or do you care if you have to answer whether he was named after the other Brecken for the first year or so? It kinda sucks that this happens with more unusual names since no one would question if it was Chris or something equally "common." If you really like it, I'd still use it.

I've bought more clothes this time, and will likely still buy some more things as it gets warmer. I was working last time and had borrowed a lot from my sister. I'm not working now, and she's also pregnant so kept her stuff...so I didn't have as much to work with this time since I don't need the nicer work tops. I just tell myself that I can sell it at consignment sales, and I tend to shop at places like Ross and TJ Maxx where it's not as expensive.
