The family in the apartment above us ha a young child, although I'm not sure how old. Recently EVERY. FUCKING. NIGHT the kid is apparently running goddamn laps around the apartment from about 8pm to about 10pm. Shouldn't this be "settle down and get ready for bed" time? What the FUCK could they be doing with this kid up there? Toddler moms got any thoughts?
Also, I keep wanting to say something because the pounding above my head is making me stabby, but then I think, hey, kids are kids, they're just living their lives up there, don't be a bitch. WWYD?

Would say 8 should be time to cool down but it seems some parents are under the impression that you can wear kids out right before bed :p

I would let it go, but then again I don't mind kids noises a bit :)

  • I need work to be over so I can get my first day of spring free waterice from Ritas
The police were regulating traffic and handling crowd control at mine!
Mine could have used police. The parking lot was jam packed and it looked like an accident waiting to happen. In other Rita's news, both the regular size and large gelatis are both $3 until the end of the month.

I wake up on my back which is not entirely comfortable the rest of the day :( I much prefer sleeping on my side, but haven't quite mastered positioning the pillows properly. I don't mind being on my back when I've got my laptop propped up on my belly.

But that might be because Brom apparently will kick on command whenever you set something on top of him ;)
I'm ok with sleeping on my sides but my hips have always been wide set so with the added belly it just gets all kinds of crazy. As long as I've just peed sleeping on my back propped up is nice! Plus I feel like I feel LO moving around better :)

If I remember correctly, you are a STM, do you remember how long back sleeping lasted for you? I have a feeling it's going to come to an end in the next month or so and then I'll just have no sides to sleep on :)

  • I had a doc appt this morning and then walked into absolute craziness at work. As such this is the first time I've been on today and feel like I missed so much.

    Also this just happened..
Mom: you may be totally evil when pregnant but you're also so cute
Me: well I guess that kinda makes up for it
    Mom: no, not really

    Gee thanks mom.

Laying on my back on the couch feels great! Not in bed so much. I have feather pillows that I typically love but I'm finding they're not so supportive these days.

Now he has to remember all the points he had written down and I feel like crap =( Grrrrr....

Meh that's totally his fault for not double checking!
  • Just got back from my work out. I love working with my trainer! We do striking and he finishes my sessions with channeling out through reiki. It's fantastic.
  • I had a really long week. Monday I was at office from 9am - midnight finishing something out. I had meetings all day today, and my least favorite person was in one of them and was unnecessarily mean. I came home and cried because I'm exhausted. It took everything I had to not turn into angry badger when she was being a royal fuckface. I came home and bought baby clothes and petted my registry to make me feel better. And I'm working from home tomorrow.

I love this so much. One of my BFF's and I were pregnant at the same time last time. We both had boys. I wish I had known about this idea because I would have been ALL over it!

Bummer! Can't say that I would base our reproduction on my sister's wedding, though ;)
DH and I had been trying for about 6 months. BFF's was an accident about 10 weeks prior to my BFP. We didn't really plan it, but it worked out pretty cool.

Yeah...I think a girls' trip we took where her DH stayed with their DS for an extended time alone might have had a little to do with it too ;)

  • I feel like a food goddess....made spaghetti squash w/meat sauce Monday and homemade pb choc chip cookies for dessert and yesterday made steak w/corn on the cob & brussel sprouts. Tomorrow, I'm thinking boston butt w/steamed cauliflower& cheese and kale w/fresh pineapple, kiwi, & strawberries for dessert.

Can I come over?? I've been slacking in the food region this week!

  • Pregnancy insomnia let me get 4 hours of sleep. DS's bday party is tomorrow so I'm sure that's part of it. Rather than lay in bed worrying over everything to do, I got up, cleaned the fish tank, and started the cupcakes for the party. Strangely I feel more awake now than when I get a full night's sleep. And I didn't get my usual nap yesterday. Here's to hoping I don't need to crash later with all that still needs to be done!

  • I am expecting 19 new hires today.  When I turn in my timesheet, I have to allocate 1 hour per new hire so it can be charged to the job they will be working on, to give you an idea of the magnitude of what I am about to jump into (the most I've done in one day is 23, the number is usually closer to 5 or less).  I feel like it's the calm before the storm right now.  Drug screen results are starting to come in and I know the wave is about to hit.  Worst part (because I really don't mind the sheer volume of it) is that most of them will show up within 30 minutes of my lunch and take at least an hour so who knows when I'll actually get to eat today.

That sucks, I'm really sorry. I feel like they should definitely give you a free massage for that sort of unprofessional behavior.

No way in hell.  I'm never showing my face there again.  Thankfully it was in an area that I usually don't go to and a "spa" that I'd never been to, or will again.

Ewe, this would really creep me out.
    DELETED FOR SPACE
Sorry you had to deal with this!
Just curious, did you tell your husband?  My husband would freak out and probably go punch the guy.
This post was the first time I've mentioned it to anyone.  I just needed to get it off my chest (shudders).  I don't really have a man to tell it to and I'm sure ex would just think that I'm bragging or he'd tell me to go up there and do something about it.

Of course you need to deal with it the way you feel comfortable, I just don't like that things like this happen.

Ironically, I'm head to a message now, and requested a woman.

  • DD turns three tomorrow. THREE. I am in denial, I can't believe that tiny little newborn is going to be three whole years old. Sob.

Also, on the way to work this morning I realized I hadn't felt the baby move yet (and he/she is usually a morning mover and shaker) and had a ridiculous moment of anxiety where I was sure we'd lost him/her.

    #ICan'tKeepCalmIHaveAnxiety

I completely understand. I refuse to say my daughter is 2.5 because it sounds so close to 3. She's 2 and she'll remain just 2 until July :( She's still such a baby but is starting to look like such a little kid. :(

  • I'm seriously so bored. I'm sitting in birth suites right now getting a hyper immunoglobulin treatment. Turns out this kid has CMV - a huge bummer on that one. So... I have to sit here for 3 more hours by myself thinking about all the terrible things that can go wrong, and looking on zillow for wheelchair accessible homes. I thought it would be nice to have some alone time. Not so much.

We just got ours. I freaking love it! Well, we got the gt because I need the handles to extend, but the regular one is great too!

Also, I totally understand feeling nervous! Hugs to you!
  • If it makes any of you anxious mamas feel better, my midwife told me today not to fret if I don't feel baby move every single day. She said she doesn't start monitoring daily movement until 28 weeks!

Thinking of you, wishing you and the little one the best.
  • @pfeilele - what's CMV and what are the potential impacts?

    Sending good thoughts your way!

    Thanks!

I didn't look at the previous link posted, but it's basically a mono-like virus. It's spread through bodily fluids, and it's typically a childhood thing. We are assuming I got it from my son, who most likely picked it up from his cousins or another little kid we were around on a play date. Even though baby is shedding the virus, it isn't 100% that it will be negatively impacted.

Outcomes range from hearing loss and blindness, to wheelchair bound and tube fed. Kids with CMV can show symptoms up to 5 years after birth as well, but are usually mild; hearing loss and behavioral issues.

This lady is definitely going to need some drugs once baby is here. I'm going to be a nervous wreck!
