I do not think a swim diaper is appropriate as the only 'thing' a child is wearing in a pool. It is not that hard, or expensive to put your child in appropriate attire.
If all you have to say about your husband is negative things, perhaps some evaluating of the situation is in order. I'm not saying divorce necessarily, but counselling, an honest conversation with him about his annoying/douchy habits...maybe some soul searching of your own to find out why you're so irritated by the one person you voluntarily chose to stand by for the rest of your life?
Not that my marriage or husband is perfect, but the negativity sometimes...good grief. Stop and smell the roses-and stop taking for granted something that people would give anything to have.
It is your life, you are the one responsible for it. If you don't like it, change it. If you are unwilling to change it, STFU about it as it is your *choice* to stay.
I dont get the hype over Frozen.
There, I said it.
I like "Let it Go" as a song (which is currently stuck in my head), and understand the importance of the message, but it was predictable and I hate that.
I showed my daughter a preview ( before purchasing/renting in the tv) and she goes "nope... Boring!!" So no frozen for this household, were more of a Jurassic park/starwars kind of household

Mine is more of a bitchy moment.... Who the eff gets up at 5am(on spring break) to drive in traffic to Dallas to take her DF to the doctor for a follow up appt for his knee surgery? Yea that would be me. Why am I going and smiling about it? Bc that amazing man has been working nights and won't get any sleep today except for what he gets in the car. Which prolly won't be much bc I have to stop every 30 mins and get out and move around!! I love him but I hate traffic and I wanna cry! Sorry, rant over! AND this is not me complaining about him, just the early freaking hour that I'm awake! Also, I spend way to much time looking through goofy maternity pics laughing my ass off!
Agreeing on Frozen and not complaining constantly about spouses. I wouldn't bitch relentlessly about a friend -- why about my partner? Relationships require some introspection. And respect for that person as a human with differences.
My UO: I hate baby girl headbands. Why do they need satellite sized flowers? When they're on, my eye goes there first, not to the baby. And I don't care if anyone thinks my kid is a boy. They seem so random: "MUST PUT LARGE ORNAMENT ON GIRL BABY'S HEAD."
I think this may have been brought up in the past, but I hate baby shower cakes that have any body parts on them. Ex: Shaped like a pregnant belly or a baby. I really do not want to perform a C-section to eat a piece of my frreakin cake.
I don't believe that blue and bold colors should be reserved for boys. As I start looking for clothes and people give me things, I see some non-frilly items that I would love LO to wear.
Also, I bought my niece a cute light blue dress. People totally ignored the dress part and assumed she was a boy. @wtfisup- I don't think she needed a headband, either. She was a girl in a blue dress.
I am not a fan of naming boys Jr. or the third and so on. I know people say it is a way of honoring a family name but I think it just gets confusing and really, is it that hard to think of something different? I also think it is weird when a guy's first name is essentially the same as their last, like Phillip Phillips. Again with the creativity (although I have heard that is a Welsh tradition)
I don't think hospital tours are really necessary. I mean, make sure you know which floor L/D is on, but I don't really think there is a need to tour before you go in. (I'm sure this will be completely unpopular) Also, I'm not judging if you do one, I just don't think it's a must.

I have friends that named their second a Jr. That got a serious side eye from me.

Plus, it can mess up a lot of things for both the Jr. and Sr. I work in the financial world and have seen many things being reported incorrectly or confusion over who's accounts they actually are. I didn't realize how complicated things can be, but it's really common to see things mixed up. Also, a lot more fraud happens in those situations.

I think they would be more beneficial if they showed you the fastest way to the cafeteria <--only half kidding.

DH is named after his father; however, FIL didn't want to be Sr. So rather than being Jr., my husband is the second (hillbilly logic there). Thank goodness we're in total agreement that there will not be a third. Who the heck wants to pass on the middle name Eugene anyway? It was bad enough the first time around.
I do not like Star Wars or Star Trek. Dumbest movies ever made, yet I married a total Star Wars nerd and trekkie. I always assume the people who dress up and go to conventions are living in their mothers basement and if they are male will likely never touch a real live girl in their life.
I also have yet to be able to stay awake through any of the Lord of the Rings movies. I have tried and tried but am asleep within 20 minutes.
Dungeons and Dragons, that Magic Card game thing, and anything Cosplay related.. No. Just no..
I'm going to guess you don't dig Doctor Who, either?

Was the first a girl or not named after the dad? A "jr" doesn't have to be the first born, it's just supposed to be the one who shares the name.
Their first born was also a boy. I always just thought it was given to the first born son.
While I definitely don't love the over the top gaudy (sp?) look ALL day EVERY day for DDs, I can't stand the walmart look any more. You know, where every single item is Minnie or Elsa or Ariel or Hannah Montana or that stupid giant orange thing that looks like a bumpy wiener from the acid trip show... Or whatever! Why does everything need logos and characters on them? From shirts to socks to backpacks. Enough! Freaking A.
This is why I try to get most kiddo clothes online. Places like Old Navy are good for basic non-frills for girls. Especially jeans.

I liked the original.. Sort of.
The new ones... Nope. Not so much.
Oh, and I didn't like Firefly either.. LOL!
My H would cry hearing you didn't like Firefly. If this baby had been a boy he would have been pushing to name him Malcolm.
@presslove, EVERYTHING I've bought for this baby (girl) has been bold colors. Primaries, brights, etc. I got her rainbow striped leggings, robot leggings, red onesies, etc.
I don't care if people mistake my baby for the opposite sex. I feel like most kids look pretty unisex until they are about two and the fact that people can't immediately "tell" doesn't bother me. I dress DD in plenty of "boy" colors because IDGAF and a kid doesn't need to be walking around in a pink dress all the time.
Ditto. We are having another boy but if this was a girl she totally would be wearing DS's wardrobe of hand me downs.
It is still bugging me that my niece was complaining at my son's octonauts themed birthday party that only 2 of the 8 octonauts were girls. First of all they both are kickass girl characters and second of all she loves "girl legos" What is up with that? Why do the sets have to be pink and purple and all the lego characters are freakishly thin. She's only 10 so I couldn't call her a hypocrite =P

Haha my dad is a Jr. and his name is Marion. My mom told him under no circumstances would there be a third! It's bad enough that he is regularly mistaken for being a female with that name...why pass that on again?
I just watched Frozen. It was cute and I enjoyed it, but I also don't get all the crazy hype over it. Still doesn't compare to Beauty and the Beast...best Disney princess movie ever ;-p

I'm right there with you. My SIL finally got her girl after 4 boys and now my poor niece is always in the most itchy, glittery over the top dress that she can find. It's rediculous and since I'm having a girl I think for every family function she's going to be wearing one of my sons boy hand me downs just to make a point. SIL also loves the big huge flower head bands.
But I thought of my own UO, parents who won't cut their kids hair. Whether refusing to cut their daughters hair so its long but in this itty nitty ponytail when the truth is if you'd trim it then it would grow faster and thicker. But what drives me insane is little boys with long hair past their shoulders that look like a girl. And God forbid it have a little curl to it cause then it's never gonna get cut.

I don't think babies need a crap ton of stuff. I am a minimalist I suppose. Obviously, they need the essentials like clothes, diapers, wipes, car seat, etc. But honestly all the other crap drives me crazy. The "pee pee tee pees" are dumb, the bags for your baby's diapers are a waste of plastic, the diaper genies are a waste of space and smell terrible, all the toys that your kid wont play with because they would rather play with the box... Seeing people lug around 50 lbs of baby crap makes me smh. They don't NEED it, you're only making it harder for yourself!
Re: UO Thursday
My UO is that I don't like musicals... I watched Frozen for the first time tonight. Storyline was OK. All that singing??? Not a fan.
@BrightEyes112 we spent a solid hour one night looking at the most horrific maternity photos. It was like a car wreck
