Welcome to the TTC a Rainbow Sibling check-in. This check-in is a for TTCAL-ers with living children to talk about the issues about TTCAL while you have a living child. Living children and pictures of living children are welcome here, however if your pictured child is an infant (< a year old), please do place a warning at the beginning of your post to alert ladies who are having a hard day. You do not have to be active on the PAL board in order to be a member of this check-in, however, if you plan on posting on the main board please post an intro there.

@rmpar29 - How are you this week? How'd your f/u u/s and b/w go?

I'm doing OK this week. We had a couple 50 degree days and now we are back to the single digits. Ugh...I'm so done with this winter. I had another u/s yesterday and my follies are growing. I have 3 on the left side with one at 15mm. I go for another u/s and b/w tomorrow and we hope to have an IUI this weekend. The lab screwed up my b/w and used the wrong standing order, even though I gave them the one that they needed they took another (wrong) one out of their book. Thankfully, the RE's office caught it and was able to add on the other tests. Just unbelieveable that they could screw that up!

@rmpar29 I'm doing pretty well! Busy car shopping! My loan should be paid off this week, so we can apply for a new one and buy a car hopefully next week! Our weather here has been rather dumb lately, too! We had a number of nice, warm spring/summer days, and then a cold front that brought ice for 2 days straight, then it was cool (50s and 60s) for a couple days. Yesterday it got into the 80s, and today it was 38 when I woke up. I really wish Texas would get her crap together and figure out what season it is!!! All the hot-cold-hot-cold is driving mine and my kids' sinuses insane!!!

I'm so happy you've got great looking follies! FX for your IUI this weekend! I'm so sorry about the lab pulling the wrong paperwork - that's ridiculous! Glad the RE caught it in time, though!

Hi! I am sorry I missed it last week. Doing ok. Waiting for AF. We are going to give it a try tis cycle (I ended up ovulating six days earlier than normal last month. I was all out of whack. Hopefully we are ready this time). QOTD: honestly, everything. But we love anything outside, zoo, park, etc.

@trizzie Sorry your last cycle was wonky. FX for you this cycle! My boys LOVE the zoo and the park! We used to have a membership to the zoo closest to us, but we didn't renew this year because we're planning on moving. We'll probably get a membership at the local zoo when we move! My boys also love swimming! (Thank goodness my apt. has a pool!)

I forgot the QOTW - My all-time favorite thing to do with my kids is put in a movie before bed (when they are tired and ready to relax), curl up on the couch and snuggle. I can the world's most horrible day and that will make everything right again.

Hi everyone!

Today is CD9 but I'm still spotting so I have a feeling this will be a messed up cycle. We decided we are officially TTC again but I'm not going to chart or do OPKs at this point. Since this is my first cycle after two on BCPs following the D&C I hate not knowing what's going on. But I'm going to respect my husband's wishes and try to not let this consume me again.

My favorite activity to do with my guys right now is to go grocery shopping at Sam's on Saturday afternoons. It's one of the few places that has an abundance of double shopping carts so I don't have to stress about finding one. Their pickiness goes out the window at the store and they love trying the hundreds of samples and flirting with everyone they meet. They're always so happy and have so much fun.

As for me, not a peep from my clinic. I'm hoping that's good- no news is good news. But really I won't feel confident until I know the results. I haven't heard from the surgeon yet. My re said to call if I haven't heard from them in a couple of weeks, and it's been that long, but I think I'll wait it out until this cycle is over bc obv I'm hoping for a bfp! Also, part of me doesn't want to call for fear of getting bad news about testing. Catch 22 I suppose.

WOTW: I seriously love doing anything with DD, she has such a great sense of humor that I'm forever laughing with her. But if I had to pick one thing, I love reading with her. We just finished reading Charlotte's Web together and it felt so special to be doing w her like my mom did w me. I think tonight we are starting the first of the Harry Potter books.

@mkc5869 I remember when my DH was working rotating day and night shifts.. it was terrible! He never wanted to nap on his switch days, either, so he was always cranky. Like you said, men 8-|

Missa_g I know your first cycle or two off BCP can be a little wonky. FX this one isn't too bad and that you get back to "normal" after this one (unless, of course, you get a BFP)

@almostamissus We'll be getting another CX-9 - the same one that was totaled. I loved that car, and haven't found anything comparable in terms of comfort, style, reliability and cargo space. We tote TONS of stuff with us everywhere (guitar, amp, guitar back, camera, our dog, our guns when we go shooting, plus the kids and all their stuff!) so we have to have plenty of cargo space. I understand it can be scary waiting for test results. Sending prayers of comfort and peace so you don't stress too much. ((hugs))

Morning ladies!

Sorry for the post and run but we had over 18" of snow in Rochester yesterday in less than 24 hours so I had my girls home for the snow day and then today my oldest school is closed but of course my school isn't! I teach at a private school and we have school today. So I have my daughter at work with me and she's cutting into my bump time!!

Yes, I got CHs this morning and I just have to trust that I O'd when FF says I did. I had ewcm, +opk, O cramping and FF confirmed and I'm still second guessing everything!! I started the progesterone this morning. So the 2WW begins.....

QOTW: My most favorite activity to do with both girls is go to the beach!

I hope everyone is having a nice day. I have not heard any results yet from my blood work but we are in the 2ww (8 or 9 dpo) which makes me happy. I'm hoping to hear something tomorrow. If I don't, I'm calling the doc on Monday.

A brief history about me:

I have a DS who was conceived after 4 years of IF. He was a natural surprise after many months of clomid and 2 failed clomid/trigger IUIs.

In May we started TTC# 2. In August I started acupuncture. In October I got pregnant. I lost that baby less than a week after my BFP. It was a CP. We were told we didn't have to wait to TTC. So in Nov. I got pregnant again. In Dec I bled on and off all month. In January- I took a HPT on a whim and got a bfp. The next day I learned it was ectopic and lost my left tube.

Right now I'm on CD 12 of my last benched cycle.

So that's the run-down. Not much my way- I'm a SAHM.

This is going to sound weird but I love running errands with my little guy. He loves to run around and is better behaved in public than he is at home. He'll let me push him around a department store or grocery store for hours and be a total angel. I'm very lucky!

@Frenchteachermama‌ -- I'm sorry about all the snow. We were originally supposed to get it and a few days before they moved the track north. We only got a few inches, but it did bring back the sub-zero wind chills. This winter has been awful.

@KC1212‌ -- YAY for the last benched cycle. We are on our last benched cycle as we'll and I am anxiously awaiting the all clear.

@MoreThanSparrows08‌ -- thanks for asking. I am anxious to get back in the game. I really dislike the "avoiding" part. I know it comes with fears and anxieties, but at least we will be trying again!

QOTW--- DS loves to chase and be chases. We literally spend hours running around the house. I can not wait for all of this snow to disappear so that we can run around outside. I think he will live it. I plan to take him to this great local park on the first nice day we have (after the snow is melted). They have climbing rocks, hiking trails a wonderful play area and so much more.

@mkc5869 - I'm sorry for your BFN, but I'm glad your 2nd cycle was more "normal". My DH used to work nights too and did the same thing - trying to stay awake to be on our schedule for the weekends. It was never pretty!

@Missa_g - Good luck jumping back on the TTC train. I know what you mean...I'd go crazy without charting and using OPKs. Maybe you can sneak them?

@almostamissus - I'm sorry that you haven't heard back from the surgeon yet. I hope that you do soon, but I hope even more that it's unneeded.

@Frenchteachermama - So happy that you got CHs! I hope that the you get very few side effects from the progesterone.

Hi ladies! I am good, waiting to O currently. I'm thinking it will be Saturday or Sunday at the latest. I had an almost positive OPK today, so it should be positive tomorrow, and I usually O the day after. Not much else is going on for me. We had some really nice weather here at the beginning of week, too. I took DD to the park and she was having a really good time, until she slipped and banged her chin up

She has a big bruise now and I feel so bad. QOTW: I like taking DD to the park when it's nice out, or snuggling and reading a good book. Toddler snuggles are the best!

I had another beta yesterday and it was negative! I'm so glad to have the physical part of this stupid ep over with. I have a consult set up with my RE for a few weeks, so we'll see what he has to say. I'm benched until May from the mtx, so we have some time if I need any testing or anything.

QOTW: My absolute favorite place to take DD would probably have to be the zoo. We both love it!

I'm doing ok. Lately I've dreaded going to the park, mall, library because I don't know who I'm going to see there (acquaintances with new babies, or newly pregnant/showing). It's been a new source of anxiety that I'm not loving.

QOTW: I love to travel with DS, going to new parks/museums/modes of transportation/restaurants/etc.

I am still resisting the urge! We will officially begin TTC again in April, so I will definitely start again then. I did go buy new batteries for my thermometer at Target the other day, though, and sorted through my old IC OPKs to see if they were expired. Some were but I still have quite a few I can use.

QOTW: I love doing almost anything with Ben! Right now, though, I am most excited about the weather finally starting to warm up (though today, of course, it is freezing ass cold again after like 4 days of 50+ temps) and getting to do more with him outside. Now that he's walking, he wants to go everywhere! I can't wait to take him to the park right by our house.

Any sign of AF?
None yet. I did call my doctor's office this morning to ask if I should be concerned and they said that since it has only been a month since I stopped bleeding from the miscarriage AND February was a short month, that I should be okay. They want me to call if I don't get it by next week though.

QOTW: We love doing tons of things together as a family! Probably my favorite is going to Disneyland

My son has been there twice and my daughter has been there once and it was just so much fun to see the smiles and excitement on their faces everywhere we went. Then listening to my son talk about all of his adventures after we came home was great because I know he'll remember the experience for years to come. I can't wait until we can go again!

@RN536‌ I agree with pp- skipping a night is a good option. I usually O 48 hrs after +opk. Also, I turn will turn to champagne if necessary to get us both in the mood. (I may be drinking some right. Now. )
@mkc5869‌ my first cycle post loss was wonky too. Super irritating! Hope this one is more normal for you.
@Missa_g‌ After my first loss (and second, actually) I did the NTNP thing. The first go, I did get another bfp (but mc'ed) it was way less stressful. And really, I knew my body well enough at that time that I could just tell. Good luck!
@mara005‌ (((hugs))) I hope you don't hide away too much. And that you are able to start doing some of the things you love again. I hope you peace and healing.

@shell041783‌ Hummm... Yeah the delayed temp rise is odd. I do think it looks like you O'd, but I'd say it was cd29.

@fallfever Yay for O'ing! Hopefully you hear from your doctor tomorrow and don't have to track them down to get the results.

@KC1212 yay for your last cycle on the bench! Your DS is the opposite of my two - we go out in public and they want to show off and yell and aruge and... UGH! But I took them to two different grocery stores yesterday and they were uncannily good!! I was pleasantly surprised and pleased!

@RN536 I'm glad you're feeling better. I second the other ladies that you should skip tonight and aim for tomorrow to DTD.

@Mom2anAngel2 FX this next cycle is the one with the BFP at the end!

@KJsbabe FX for O this weekend! I know how you feel about DD getting bumps and bruises at the park. My oldest, about 2.5 years ago, was playing in our church, sort of swinging between two low side tables. He slipped somehow and hit the center of his forehead square on the corner of one of the tables - left a big 'ole contusion on his forehead for a few weeks. I felt terrible for him! But he's a-ok now.

@Neary2011‌ I've seen other ladies use wondfo. I've never tried them, but they're cheap. I usually just get mine at the dollar store. I've also seen really positive reviews on the clearblue fertility monitor.

I guess all I had to do was check-in last week because AF showed the next day. I'm on CD7 now and we decided we will start trying this cycle. I have my FX for everyone else this month too!

QOTW: My favorite thing to do with DD right now is read. She loves to just sit in my lap and twirl her hair and listen to me read. I know she won't always fit in my lap or want to be read to so I'm treasuring it now.

Another wondfo OPK lover here! They're cheap and I like to pee on things a lot. Haha! I know some ladies find them confusing, though, because you have to make sure the test line is as dark or darker than the control. There's another brand that gives you a smily face for a + and that can help take the guess work out of it.

@shell041783 - Welcome! I just stalked you (sorry, didn't get back to this thread yesterday). If I had looked yesterday I would've said that you probably O'ed on CD29. But, seeing your temp drop this morning...it's possible you didn't O. If your temp goes back up tomorrow then I would say you O'ed on CD29.

@kj808 - I hope that AF comes soon. I'm glad that you called your doctor and that they will do something for you next week.

@Neary2011 - Most ladies on TTCAL use Wondfos. They are cheap so you can test multiple times a day without feeling like you are going broke. Keep in mind that Wondfos are not for FMU and should be taken in the late morning-late afternoon time after 2 hours of not drinking/urinating. The first couple months using them I followed up with a CB digi until I got the hang of what was a +OPK on the Wondfo. Good luck!

AFM: Had another u/s this AM and I have a beautifully ripe follie on the right and like 3 more waiting in the wings. I hope to trigger tonight and IUI tomorrow, but I have to wait for the doctor to call.

Also, a question for ladies with 2.5+ year olds. Devin has literally latched onto me lately! He wants to be held a lot more and is verbally complaining (fake crying) when I leave him or put him down. He wants to curl up in my lap at night and I have to make him get in his bed and sit on the floor next to him in order for him to go to sleep. He used to be so independent and he's going through another "I need mommy 24/7" phase. Did any of your kids go through this? What can I do to help him?

@rmpar29 My kids both went through phases like that around that age. They've realized they no longer need mommy for everything, so part of them wants to be independent. But then they realize they don't get as much attention from or time with mommy as they used to, so they want to be connected to you 24/7. It's a balance issue - they want to be independent, but don't want to "lose" mommy. Just remember that everything with kids - the good, the bad, and the ugly - all eventually pass. Devin won't be like this forever, though it can seem like that sometimes. As young as your boys are, it might help to sit them down and make sure that they understand that their independence doesn't mean mommy won't be there anymore. Maybe set a time every day to snuggle with them and focus 100% on them - this way they know, no matter what, they can be with mommy for a little while. ((hugs))

Hope it's okay if I jump in and introduce myself. I usually hang out on TTCAL. @Frenchteachermama encouraged me to check out this thread, so here I am (*waves hello*). Here's a little bit about me and my TTC journey.

I'm 34 and will be 35 in July. I have one son, Liam, born in July 2011, just a couple of weeks before I turned 32. My pregnancy with him was uneventful. I got pregnant quickly and carried him to term. My water broke on his due date and he was delivered 6 hours later. I feel like that experience was deceptively easy compared to the struggle of TTC #2.

I went back on BCP after I weaned DS and went off it in Sept. 2013. I started charting and got a BFP in November, followed by an early loss at 5w3d. I was cleared to TTC again right away, got another BFP again the next cycle, which ended in another early loss at 4w6d. After that, my doctor ordered an RPL blood work panel and karyotype, all of which came back normal. I recently switched to a new doctor, an OBGYN, since my prior doc was just the family practitioner who delivered DS. She's great, but she admitted to me that, beyond the RPL panel, she didn't have much else to offer me.

I saw the new doctor yesterday. She recommended that DH get karyotyped and also for me to have an ultrasound to take a look at what's going on in there. We discussed my age and history. She told me that, in her opinion, DH and I should try for another 4 months or so and, if no BFP, or if we have another loss, that she recommends referring us to an RE. I'm thinking I'll ask for the referral sooner rather than later and get an appointment on the calendar so that, if we hit that 4 month mark with no success, I won't have to wait to get in to see someone.

I'm doing acupuncture, vitamin B6 and D3 in addition to prenatals, maca root, and Crinone progesterone supps from after O until BFP or AF. I stopped temping last month because it was messing up my sleep and DH said it was making me crazy. He's probably right. Now I'm using the CBFM monitor and, although it was really wonky my first month using it, it seems to be working accurately now, when compared with the OPKs I did as backup.

@Morethansparrows08 - Thanks for the ideas and confirming that my son is not crazy...lol! I think it also may be that my DH just went back to working 5 nights a week at his second job instead of 3, so he's missing daddy.

@BookishMomma - Welcome, nice to see you over here! I'm sorry for your losses! I'm glad that you've gotten in to see and OBGYN and I hope that you can get an appointment with an RE, but I hope you don't end up needing it.

@rmpar29 my youngest is like that all of the time! And I don't mean to scare ladies which children younger than 3, but they call it the "terrible twos" but (IMO) 3 is MUCH worse than 2 and 4 worse than 3!! And YAY for ripe follies!!!

@rmpar29‌ funny thing, I was going to ask if there had been a big change and/or stressors in the family! My dd is 8yo now but she still gets clingy when things change up! I second the suggestion of more cuddle time.

Hi Ladies, hope everyone is doing well.

I got CH on FF this am..whoo hoo.. now DPO4 and into my 2WW...oh boy..As if i wasn't going crazy enough waiting on that..now i am waiting again in my 2WW.

Thanks again for all the support here..oh and btw Natalie has started telling me my belly isggetting bigger. .God love her! Only she can get away with it.
