I just got invited me to a 'gender party' BUT she's not actually revealing the gender. She is just collecting bets on whether it's a boy or a girl.
And then keeping the money.
She says once she delivers she'll take half the money she got and divide it out and give it to the people who guessed the sex correctly. The other half is for baby things. I told her that she's insane, and she sent me a link to where she found it online.
WTF. I was just complaining about someone that specified that they wanted books instead of cards at their baby shower.. but this is on a whole other level. Have you guys heard of this before??

I was considering gender reveal party instead of baby shower just gathering of people and food etc. Since this is third baby for me but DH first his friends and family wanted to do something but I never expected gifts or money! I felt weird having anything since it is third baby and DH was deployed I politely declined but I don't understand why someone would do this.
