Oh and Bliss, wasn't it you who got shunned off your BMB because no one could stand your attitude? Yeah, everyone else is the problem though, right?
Wrong again. I post on my BMB quite frequently.
PS, I think you should learn the difference between Mod and overzealous hall monitor.
Oh you're right, it's was an entire BMB but not necessarily yours. A14 right? Everyone there told you off.
Look Pissy Blissy, you act like you are the only one allowed to have an opinion about anything. If someone disagrees with you you think that gives you the right to bitchy and rude. There is snark and then there is you. We don't need to go around asking for your approval on everything and not everyone has to listen to you.
See, there you go again. Because someone disagrees with you that must mean something is wrong with them. Being a mod has absolutely nothing to do with anything. Just like you, I can't post whatever the hell I want. You can't control everything, darling.
In addition to being a massive hypocrite, you're just wrong. It happens sometimes. A14 is not my BMB, but go ahead and bandwagon with that bunch of crazycakes.
I realize that you are Washingtonqueen, but last time I checked you weren't Queen of The Bump, so stop using the royal "we." I'm pretty sure you don't speak for everyone here.
Bliss, & WQ -- two of my favs. Let's go to our respective corners. Sharpen your shivs & perfect your hair flips. There will be other posts.
Ok, I'm going to jump in now. I don't think Bliss is out of line. OP is antagonizing her. Bliss is responding to her. And I witnessed all that A14 crap. I don't know if you read it, Washington, but they were complete twats. @washingtonqueen, I know you can't say whatever you please being a mod, but why are you standing up for OP? I know you like gender reveal parties, but OP has proven to be deserving of any and all flaming with her jackass responses.

Pretty much all of this. Directing responses to your posts is generally frowned upon, and OP has continually stomped her foot about opinions she didn't like. If she wasn't such a brat about it, this thread would've died out days ago. And let's be honest, A14 has a reputation for being a bunch of crazies who proudly spout off about being the "Mean Girls."
OP I just read this mess (bored in a waiting room, I'll admit) and just wanted to say that you've held your own really well. You logic has been sound, (which I really respect as it's rare on here) you've refuted people who have attempted to poke holes in your story where there were none (reading really IS hard) and you seem to have maintained your exuberance about your "Princess Party" without resorting to the usual mud slinging and meltdown. You've given as good as you've gotten, and you've done it with class. My hat is off to you.

Bawhahahaha!! You have that so backwards, darling. At the very beginning of the post I called that people were going to jump on her and I was right. OP was being antagonized throughout her entire post. If you can't see that you need to get your head on straight.
Honestly, I find them attention whorish and silly. Especially if you are inviting everyone you know or your entire town. (Massive eyeroll). An entire party dedicated to your BTB's genitals is so very strange. Whatever.
Apparently you are a special princess and need a party. Try Pinterest (there's a mass of ideas there, I'm sure.)
Oh look who it is...*talk about a massive eyeroll*
I guess it's a good thing you don't have to have one then, huh?
@washingtonqueen, you don't think this is an antagonistic response?
@WashingtonQueen You really are going off the deep end. Maybe you should step back from the internets for a while. It's obviously getting to you. Best of luck on that downward spiral.

Did you just completely bypass Bliss's response? I'll bold it for you. OP responded to Bliss. Not hard to understand.

Dude, you know how shit goes around here. Blunt and to the point. You used to be a part of that. I know you can't do that now, but don't act like you are shocked by that kind of response. OP asked for opinions (whether she denies it or not) and she got one. 'Massive eye roll" was a little bitchy but that's just the way it goes. Bliss even gave her a helpful suggestion: Pinterest.

That was mainly in response to OP claiming that the whole entire town needed to know what the sex of her baby was and was celebrating her pregnancy or whatever. Honestly, who says shit like that?

There is a huge difference between blunt and to the point and then trying to pick a fight just for the sake of picking a fight. As I said before, I am all for snark when it is warranted.
Bliss eye rolled OP an OP eye rolled back. That makes OP bitchy? Seriously? Just another example of not being able to handle what you dish out. Bliss was "helpful" after trying to rip her down. Pretty backhanded.
Oh well. Whatever kind of party you want to call it, we're having one. We come from a tiny town, and every knows us (as in basically the entire town was at our wedding a few years ago), and knows about our previous losses, and this pregnancy and it's progression is a big deal to everyone that we know. I constantly get asked when we'll find out the sex, and so we're going to reveal it in a fun way. If it's not something you'd do, that's cool, you don't have to have one.
Good grief! Ignore these people. Its sad that so many people claim that "no one cares" if their baby is a boy or a girl. That is the number one question we get asked. And the people who we love and who love us are just as excited as we are. It makes me sad that so many people don't have the same kind of friendships in their lives.
Regardless, we ARE doing a gender reveal, though it will be very casual. And put no pressure on ANYONE to come (we sent out a facebook invite, for goodness gracious! How much more "come if you want" can you get?!) And guess what? Everyone we invited not only said they were coming, but reached out to us individually (and in person, look at that!) to say how excited they were.
There are SO many ideas, but we are going with confetti poppers! We bought one pink and one blue (they are large poppers, so we just went with one each.) We figured it would be simple, easy, and (lets be honest) make for some cute keepsake photographs.
Enjoy yourself, and have fun with it!
Just because someone asks doesn't mean they want to attend a party to find out. But hey, whatever you gotta tell yourself.
You're absolutely right! But when they RSVP "yes"...it does.

Not necessarily. Some people may attend out of obligation. Or they at least for obligated.
Wow, talk about a whole lot of people with negative thoughts. If you dont agree with it, you dont need to bash the people who do by calling us attention whoreish, and the other rude things you guys said. I for one have friends and family that have called me and said you should invite everyone over and reveal it then. Just because your family and friends dont want to, doesnt mean others dont.
Who doesnt love a good get together? Celebrating anything is fun, stop being so negative and maybe you would all get invited to more things . Also I am throwing my own baby shower, does that mean that I shouldnt do that because someone isnt paying and throwing it for me?
With that all being said, I decided to just have a photographier, myself, and my boyfriend for a cake cutting to reveal the gender. I am doing this because there would be too many people to invite for a reveal and I dont want to upset some by not being able to have them there.

Yes. Yes it does. You don't host your own shower. If no one offers to throw you one, you don't get one.
But thanks so much for policing our responses and trying to tell us what to do!

My friend just hosted her own shower. She had a bunch of people offer, but she didn't want anyone else forking out the money for one, so she did it herself. She had an awesome turn out with over 80 people there. Nobody cared that she hosted it herself. She had a huge bbq, and everyone got awesome food, and cake, and her baby raked it in. Have fun at your shower!

It's beyond tacky (and incredibly rude) to throw a party for yourself with the purpose of having people buy you gifts. That being said, if you choose to do a sex reveal party, I'd make it clear that it is absolutely NOT a shower...ie, do not include any registry information, nor would I even give it out at that point to anyone that asks. (and it should go without saying that under no circumstances is it ever okay to throw your own shower).
For actual "Sex/Gender Reveal" parties, I'm of the opinion that I find them superfluous events, but I don't completely side-eye them depending on how they are done. The best option to me is to make it a regular BBQ where the purpose is just hanging out with family and friends and then have an 'Oh BTW...' moment of cutting a cake with the corresponding color, or opening a box of colored balloons, etc, whatever at some point. That way it's not over-the-top attention whorish, but still a fun way to share the happy news.

So glad your greedy, gift grabby friend "raked it in."
@Ejmorgan15 a shower is a gift. If no one offers, you don't get one. You should never throw a gift giving event for yourself. It's just so rude.
I swear, the entitlment. It's just so disgusting.
And this:
I don't like being liked by hateful people anyway.
We all had a blast. You didn't have to go, nor were you invited..so I'm still trying to figure out why you both care so much.
Nobody really cares. If you want to look like a gift grabby asshole to your friends and family, go right on ahead. It's obvious that's what you're bound and determined to do.
Is that why you're still here? Because you don't care. If you don't care, then why do you keep coming back to my post?
