We call Kate our potato, potato bug, pumpkin butter, pumkin pie. It developed like this...Kate, Kater, Tater (we call her Tater sometimes), Potato, etc...
My daughter's name is Paige so I call her anything that starts with a P-nut, not sure why. It's most often Peanut, Peanut brittle, Peanut Butter, and there are more that aren't as commonly used. I also call her Sweet Heart & My Love, but it is often said when I'm trying to get her attention, not in a sappy pet name way.
Henry has tons of nicknames, pretty much all from DH. Henry-bo-benry, benry, baubs, booberto, it goes on an on. I found out today that my dayhome providers husband calls him Henrald!
The twins started out as Peanuts because they were so tiny. Then we started calling Monkey and Peanut. Now we call them both Monkey. I refer my baby as squish till (s)he is born because we won't share the name before hand like with the girls.
We call Brady "bubba" or "bubbas" a lot when he was a baby now its just Brady or goober. One of the reasons we chose Brady was because it didn't get shortened or have a lot of nicknames
DD has so many nicknames! They kind of evolved as she grew up. In utero, once we picked her name (Lilia), we called her Lilou (The Fifth Element!!). When she was in NICU I found myself calling her sweet pea. Then once she came home we started calling her Soosa (which is chick in Arabic, because she would root for food like a little chick pecking - so cute). Then fassa, which is like toots. Now I usually call her my little monkey or beautiful.
Tons of nicknames. DH has been calling the baby peanut. We'll see what other names the kiddo picks up along the way.

I forgot to add that my family calls my daughter Pagina or Paginita because we are from Panama and the translation for Paige (well page) is Pagina. It annoys the crap out of my husband, but that's what he gets for not agreeing to a name that translates well!
We call DD#1 Lexy Bear/Ladybug/all sorts of bug variations (Bug/Buggy/Bugaboo etc) Then DD#2 is Baby cakes or DaweeDawee (how DD#1 said Nadylie when DD#2 was born) and DaweeBear DD#3 is Squeaks/Squeakers/Squeaky etc RosieBear/SqueakyBear No nicknames for LO#4 yet but since DH started all the bear nicknames I decided if it's a boy he will be ManCub like Mowgli from jungle book.

Absolutely in love with our 'big' family!
I'm also a proud Auntie to a crazy little girl, her brand new baby sister, a little man on his way in the next month, and a sweet little mister we will miss forever!!!
DD is Cocoa Bunny and Snuggybug. Cocoa bunny because she is so active and entergetic, and is always hopping around like a little bunny. Snuggybug because she loves snuggles.
I call my DS Seth Goose. When I was pregnant with him an ultrasound pic looked like a little baby chick. I referred to him as my baby goose while pregnant & now I often just call him goose. He is going to be 12 & has asked me to only use that name at home. Soooorrrry cool guy!!
We call her Tova fish (no idea how that even started) and little monkey. We have been calling this baby "jalapeño baby" because this one is giving me some serious heartburn.
We all called my son Yurtle since his ultrasound pics looked like a turtle. This time, my 2 1/2 year old son talks to my belly and refers to the baby as Baby Brother-Sister (since we don't yet know what it is). Last week he also told me that he is Batman and baby is Baby Spiderman.
My family has nicknamed it "Little Dixie" because they are convinced it is a girl and that she will be a little redneck. Lol I do live in South Carolina.
When I was pregnant with DS we called him "Oscar". We knew he was a boy and couldn't decide on a name, but we both disliked Oscar, so it somehow became his nickname. After he was born I didn't want to call him that but we still hadnt named him, so I called him "Little Buddy" for the first 12 hours or so until he got his name. Now he's still Buddy or Buddy Boo.
Since DS is only 10 months old it doesn't feel right to call the new LO "The baby" so we nicknamed him/her "Sybil" as in sibling.

We call Julian "juju" all the time, it's how he knows himself. We call him Jay and Junior too since his initials are JR, but mostly juju or the jujinator
FTM here and was just curious...is bug regional perhaps? I've never heard anyone call their child that, but it seems surprisingly common. I feel like where I live you would get a weird look. Not judging at all, I can see how it can be cute too.
