And like I said, yes, I totally think this post warrants some light hazing. I definitely don't think anyone's been super "OFF WITH HER HEAD!!!!" about it, but maybe you're reading something I'm not. And no, I'm not bored, but even if I was, I'm not a 'make up the feels because I'm bored and want a reaction!' type of gal anyway.

That said, it's a cheap shot to put a picture of RDJ up. It's impossible to keep your concentration when looking at that beautiful man. Low blow, @J&NL.

As stated before I am a FTM and it's very exciting even more when I was told it would never happen. So good or bad remarks you can't take this away! I'm excited and I wanted to share it with the world. It's just a shame others make jokes on someone's else's excitement. No big deal though!

OP tends to be... naive?... about stuff like this (and i am going off memory here... she was our MP poster, right? i haven't even looked back through her history). sweet for sure, which is why she's not getting actually flamed.... but sort of just happy and clueless about most stuff.

your post comes off as very very defensive. and please know - saying the stuff you said isn't going to make people NOT respond to it. i'm glad you read a lot and don't post repeat questions... that's awesome too! but relax. nobody jumped down her throat. i think grace handled this post just fine... saying she's going to remain excited despite the lack of enthusiasm here is pretty awesome. i dig it!! kudos to grace for staying calm.

we're all nearing the end. sometimes we need to latch onto a post and just make fun of it because that's what makes us smile and gets us through the day.

Honestly, I feel like a lot of the issue is just that - we have people overly irritable butting heads with people overly sensitive. Not that this snark wouldn't exist if we weren't all at this stage, but I think everyone is a little less patient with anything now.

Which is why we have RDJ gifs to bring everyone back to good haha.

It wasn't directed towards OP, it was a response to someone's comment I read in response in what dilation means. If the poster didn't mean it that way then I just misread their comment.

I agree with you and I wasn't trying to sound defensive and maybe this wasn't the "right" thread to post it on- I realize it wasn't that rude of comments and OP did/has handled it fantastically- better than most! I was just generalizing the negativity I have seen from all threads that go this direction, maybe trying to head it off a little bit before it got bad but apparently that plan failed! Lol- I guess my cup of just deal with it and don't say anything ran over and happened to spill onto this thread. And I do realize that people will still comment, I just said that because I didn't want to be bashed and people think that I just showed up and happened to see this thread and comment on it. Like I said I find most threads and comments hilarious and I've even laughed at some of the stuff that's gone one here today! I just get tired of the rudeness sometimes. And trust me I am very, very relaxed- I just got done with an amazing mani/pedi and I feel like I am in heaven! I have no hard feelings towards anyone and was just generalizing the rudeness I often see. I would post some funny gifs BUT 1. I mobile bump 2. I really have no clue how to do it- I've tried and failed before so I just gave up! Maybe someone will have something funny to post for me!

People post on here everyday and honestly sometimes there common sence questions while others are more in depth. Then you have silly posts and more serious ones. I simple post about being excitied about my first born and actually be a mere 1cm dilated and people come out with joke after joke. Whatever! It's sad that there are some people have never experienced any of this before and turn to others for some advice and help, while others think of it as a joke. Oh the size of a Cheerio or somebody clapping...really? Are you 4?

i was kind of on your side for awhile there, grace. i gave you props for being calm and rising above the silliness even though people were justifiably eye rolling the excitement over something that was about as news-worthy as "guys, i put my pants on today!"

i get that you're excited. we all get it. but please remember you may have been dilated by a centimeter for the past 10 weeks and not even known it. people explained that to you right from the very beginning. this has nothing to do with your apparent fertility struggles in the past (for which i and others certainly would have empathy), so please don't pull the "doctors told me i could never have kids" card to justify your right to post whatever you want here, as though that makes you some sort of special snowflake who deserves immunity to the cold hard bump world. you CAN post whatever you want here... and so can everyone else. and what's more?,,, you can't control it. it's how the chat world operates, like it or not. things will just go much much easier for you (and everyone) if you let stuff roll off your shoulders, realize other people might actually have a point at times, and keep a sense of humor amid whatever hills and valleys you face. i can't control you and would never try to, but i hope i can help you see there's an easier way to interact online. chat board finesse is an art form that one must cultivate and practice.

can't you just laugh at it? people were funny. people gave some some good pieces of advice and education too. many people were nice and supportive. and the ones who weren't nice? just let it go.

in the spirit of being constructive, here's a sample response i might have posted had i been in your shoes and feeling the way you do:

"i know, i know... 1 cm seems like a silly milestone to celebrate, but hey... i'm in my third trimester and this baby is railing on my insides 24-7, so i'm grabbing onto whatever little victories i can find! i only have a few weeks left to play the obsessive FTM card, and i intend on using it to its fullest extent!"

this board as a whole today needs a big 'ole "BE COOL" reminder. stop being uptight and just relax. be cool.

I'm really disturbed to find out that 10 cm is only about the size of a bagel. I guess I've never visualized 10 cm. my boys heads are huge! No wonder the ring of fire hurts literally like a ring of fire. Urrrrr only downfall about labor coming soon means its almost ring of fire time :-S. I had both my boys all natural 8.9 Pds and 9 Pds. I plan on going all natural with this one. To me it's like going to war.
