First, I'd like to send a big
thank you to the ladies of PAL for letting us move our check-in over here. Your warm welcomes are greatly appreciated! If everyone wouldn't mind, could you post a couple sentence intro on where you are in your journey, just so the ladies on PAL can get to know us?
Welcome to the
TTC a
Rainbow Sibling check-in. This check-in is a for TTCAL-ers with living children to talk about the issues of TTCAL while you have a living child. Living children and pictures of living children are welcome here, however if your pictured child is an infant (< a year old), please do place a warning at the beginning of your post to alert ladies who are having a hard day. You do not have to be active on the PAL board in order to be a member of this check-in, however, if you plan on posting on the main board please post an intro there.
All are welcome to join us! Please give us an intro with the following information if you wish: name(s)/age(s) of your child(ren), EDD(s) and where you are in your TTC journey.
If you get a BFP please send rmpar29 and morethansparrows08 a private PM so we can add you to our graduates list.
No special hugs this week.

Re: TTC a Rainbow Sibling Check-in
I'm on CD2 and I go for my baseline b/w and u/s tomorrow. We are going straight to injectables and IUI this cycle, assuming that annoying cyst is gone.
QOTW: I've lived in NY all my life. Grew up in a small town south of Buffalo and now live south of Syracuse. I always wanted to move somewhere warmer, but all of my family is here and I just can't leave them!

I look forward to meeting and chatting with everyone. Thanks for the invite!

I'm so depressed by this chart, I'm not doing anything differently! :-< *TMI warning* I had bloody EWCM for 2 or 3 days before my +opk and 2 days of +opks, both things have never happened before. I'm kinda over this whole cycle right now.

I have been lurking on TTCAL since I conceived my boys, but especially since this last loss. I hope this doesn't come off as creepy but I feel like I "know" a lot of you already. I look forward to getting to know you for real now. As much as TTCAL was my home and place of comfort three years ago I haven't felt comfortable posting again. My boys are so much a part of me and this journey, I can't hide them.
I'm really struggling to be a good parent after this loss. I had so much hope after having my rainbows and now I'm back to feeling like my body is a failure. It seems to just suck at every stage of pregnancy. I did meet with a new OB yesterday and we have a plan for if I'm able to conceive a healthy baby. The OB and my RE both want us to do meds again but they honestly terrify me. I would love to have twins again if I knew I could carry to term, but since there is no way to know that the idea terrifies me. So no meds for now. I'm not sure if or when we will reach that point again. AF arrived yesterday so for now we are TTC on our own. I have charted and used OPKs in the past but plan to try to take it easy on them for now.
QOTW: I'm a Texan. Always have been and always will be!
@mara005 - I'm so sorry that your temps are not cooperating. Have you had any testing done?
@Missa_g - Welcome! I understand your reluctance to post on the TTCAL board and I'm glad that we can include you over here. I can't even imagine how scary the birth of your twins must've been. I was in constant fear my whole pregnancy that my boys would come too early. I'm glad that they are turning 2 next month!!! I'm so sorry for your losses, many (((((HUGS))))). I totally understand what you mean about not wanting to go the meds route. I was/am in the same boat! I held out for 8 months before going back to the RE because I really, really didn't want to do meds again. I'm glad that you've found a new OB that you like!

I don't know hon, your cycles really are all over the place. You seem to ovulate late, if at all and your LP's aren't consistent either. I'm guessing your just seeing an OB? Maybe it's time to get a second opinion?

Hi ladies. I am really happy that you are posting this check-in here, as I feel there are quite a few of us who could really use it.
DH and I struggled for 2 years to conceive. I had countless testing and too femara and progesterone. I finally gave in and has a HSG, lap and hysteroscopt done (all at once) which showed stage 4 endo, a cervical polyp and high pressure in both tubes. We conceived naturally the very next month. Unfortunately, we found out at our A/S that he no longer had a heartbeat after weeks of feeling movement.
Our rainbow was conceived 3 months later, and Liam was born on 1/4/13. When AF returned we decided to NTNP and conceived in October 2013. We had an u/s at 7 weeks that showed a heathy baby with a heartbeat, but a small sac. By 10 weeks there was no heartbeat. I miscarried naturally on Christmas Eve. I have really struggled since then and have even stepped away from the Bump at times. While I am trilled for all of the PAL mommas who are pregnant again, like @missa_g stated, it makes me feel like my body has failed me once again. We will be cleared to TTCAL again next cycle. Right now I am 4 dpo.
QOTW: I was born and raised in NJ but currently live in MA.

My rainbow baby! Isaac Finley, EDD 12/21/13, born 11/23/13
Right now we are TTA, I think we will need to wait 3 more months before we can try. We are meeting today with our RE to make sure the babymaking equipment is all still in order. We have 2 frozen embryos we plan to use, but we also want to try one our own so as soon as we get the all clear I will start charting again as that is how we conceived both Harrison and Isaac.

January PAL Siggy Challenge: Good Advice
We're sort of on the bench. We have the okay from our OB/MW team to TTC when we're ready, but DH wanted to wait one more cycle (this one). I'm waiting to O and, after the last one being a picture perfect cycle, this one is looking annovulatory. I'm so discouraged at the moment.
Non-TTCAL info: I'm still breastfeeding DD, and we bedshare partially because she doesn't STTN and mama needs sleeeeeep.
I'm originally from S. Florida, and now live in Austin, TX
I have my dd8 (from xh). Dh and I have been ttc since dec '12. We have had two back to back mc in nov and jan. I have left hydrosalpinx diagnosed via u/s. I'm waiting to hear from a surgeon to have it removed and I just started seeing an RE in early feb.
@rmpar29 I haven't heard from the surgeon yet. Who knows when that will be! The bloodwork was standard cd3 and also a genetic panel. I'm not sure why, but I have found it crazy hard to deal with!! I have to keep reminding myself that if they find something, it is better to know. But it doesn't stop me from feeling panicky.
I had a weird af this month. It was really only normal flow for 12-24 hours. And then super light spotting for a couple of days. I'm used to a light flow but nothing like this! I also started soy isoflavones on Monday and that's going well. I have no idea if it helps, but I don't think it can hurt so fx!
@frenchteachermama I am hoping you get great results from your hsg. And I'm really glad that things with your dr seem to be working themselves out. Please keep us posted!
@mara005 I didn't know that you were ttc with one tube! I will be in the same situation soon (well, Sort of I am already) I wish you luck!
@mom2anAngel2 welcome aboard!! I'm pretty new here, but I think these ladies are awesome. Hoping your stay is short and sweet!
GTKY: I'm an East Coast Canadian. Born and raised small town country girl. And dh too. We have both lived here all our lives and even though I like to dream of it, we won't be moving. Dh has a very established business here so we're in it for the long haul.

My name is Vicky, I have two DD, 3 and almost 6. I had my first loss 9/13 at 8 weeks and a second in Feb at 5 weeks (might have been a chemical pregnancy but they aren't sure...) I hate my current doctor and am switching to a new practice at the end of the month!
@rmpar29 FX that this is the cycle for you!!! I can't remember if you did the injectibles with the boys...I'm seeing your RE on 3/25!!
dpalczer Welcome to the check in! I'm so sorry for your loss. Your DH's job must put an added stress on the TTC process! I hope we can be the support you need!!
@mara005 I have to tell you that I have had bloody ewcm ever since my d&c in September! Sometimes it's really dark and sometimes light. I'm entering my FW soon and am interested to see if it's going to be bloody again this month.
Missa_g I am so sorry for you loss. I can totally relate to the feeling about being a good parent after the loss. I just have to remind myself that I'm doing the best that I can and that my girls hopefully won't remember this "dark period" in our lives. Mommy has had "a lot of things in her eyes" and "belly aches" since my first loss in September
@MoreThanSparrow08 just sending you hugs!!
NoeliaV sorry your body is being uncooperative this cycle! ((HUGS))
@almostamissus I agree with you about the anxiety all of this testing is causing! I know it's better to know too if something is wrong, but it doesn't stop me from being so nervous!!
AFM:
I had an ultrasound yesterday to look at the cysts that are on my ovaries and the nurse who did the ultrasound said everything looks better. The weird thing is she kept talking about new "cysts" on my ovaries but I'm thinking she meant follicles because she kept talking about how they were measuring 1.2mm and by the looks of things I'll O around CD 10. She also passed my some "matter" which she said could be part of my lining not cleared from my period or maybe signs of endometriosis! WTF??? My husband who is a GI doc and my family friend who is the OB were so angry. You can't tell those kids of things from a regular ultrasound and all she did was scare the shit out of me. That's why techs aren't supposed to discuss their findings with you. Thankfully I'm having the HSG tomorrow so we should know more of what's going on right now.
All of my blood work has come back totally normal EXCEPT my progesterone was only 5.4 on CD 19 last cycle. So if everything looks good on the HSG I'm assuming my doctor will give me progesterone starting 7dpo...who knows! I'm really nervous but excited about tomorrow. I have to go alone which sucks!
QOTW: I'm originally from Chicago but currently live in upstate NY

Waiting is the worst!!! And I have some pretty serious anxiety issues anyway. If definitely seems as though we are always waiting during ttc- waiting for tests, results, doctors appt, af, o... You name it!! I guess good things come to those who wait? If that is so, we all have some seriously great thing coming
@NoeliaV - I just took a look at your chart (and sent you a friend request on FF) and it looks like you O'd around CD18 last month, so I wouldn't declare it anovulatory yet. I hope to see the temp rise soon!
@almostamissus - I'm sorry that the testing is stressful. Every time I go for b/w or an u/s I'm impatiently awaiting the results. I hope that you hear from the surgeon soon!
@mkc5869 - I'm so sorry for your losses and your struggles. I'm glad that you and Madelyn are OK after your scare at 25 weeks. I am completely unable to put down my BBT, so I understand having to chart again. I am sorry for your BFN and I've sent you a friend request on FF. I have to tell you that as a mother of twins I was at a complete loss as to how I was going to handle two kids, but you just do. You figure out a new norm and you go with it. It's not easy, but I'm sure you will figure it out!

For those that don't know....My name is Stephanie. I am 29 (OMG I will be 30 on Apr 13th and I am freaking out, I don't know why) and MH is 31 (almost 32). Our son just turned 3. As my siggy shows, I had a total of 3 losses and had my son in between. I had back to back losses with no AF between as well and my last loss was a BO and needed a D&C. The other losses were NMC at home. I did see a specialist and got 12 vials of blood in December. Everything came back normal except low Vit D. We declined genetic testing as of now. I don't think I can deal with TTC while knowing (IF) we had something wrong.
I KNOW my family is not complete, and I get upset with MH when he tells me that if we only have Caleb, he will be ok with that. THAT IS NOT an option for me. I know he wants more kids too and that is just his way of dealing with our losses, but it really annoys me when he says that. Right now we are TTA until May/June not due to anything medical but more for our convenience and being able to stay home with a new baby past the 12 weeks ( I dont work in the summer).
I currently do not temp and chart. I have tried and half the time it drove me crazy and I was always wondering and questioning. The other half of the time, I forgot. I need to be a little more proactive and start again.
@mara005 and @morethansparrows08 I know we are not allowed to promote our sites for profit and things like that, but if I had the talent to make something out of yarn, I would have an etsy shop!!!! I was just wondering if you had one? That would be awesome!
Sparrow- I hope the insurance stuff gets cleared up soon!!! Bummer!
@Frenchteachermama Good luck tomorrow!!! I"m sorry you have to go alone! ((HUGS))
@almostamissus ((HUGS)) I hope you find some peace and are able to relax a little. I know testing and waiting is stressful! Hopefully you hear from the surgeon soon!

@srcr2011 - Have they re-checked your Vit D levels? As Sparrow said, men just handle loss differently and I think they try to down play it because they think it will be easier on us. I know that my DH didn't even acknowledge our loss date and when I blew up at him about it, he said that he didn't want to remind me if I hadn't remembered. Yeah right, like I wouldn't remember. Anyway, my point is that maybe he's just saying that to try to make you feel better about it.

My name is Jess. I'm a SAHM to 3 boys. Been married for almost 13 years. We decided in July '13 we wanted to try for our last baby. Had a first miscarriage on Halloween. Second miscarriage on New Year's Day. It has been a difficult time but we are happy to be moving forward and hoping for the best.
After being devastated that my OB left my practice, I saw a new OB on a Monday. She was amazing! She spent an hour talking with me. I went ahead with the thrombo panel for peace of mind. We were cleared to TTC and I'm a couple DPO right now.
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
QOTW- I'm from a small town in VA and live in a slightly larger area now.
@fallfever - I'm glad that you like the new OB. When do you expect results?

@frenchteachermama People doen't realize how long it takes to make something nice, esp handmade!!! A friend of mine and her mom started making scarfs just for fun and to spend time together. Well turned out everyone wanted one. They ended up selling a bunch and needed to make more. With the money they made, the went out and bought winter clothes and jackets for needy children with 100% percent of the profit they made. It was really to neat to see them do that.
We declined the genetic testing for that reason as well. The Dr said, we can test, but even if something came back funky, we know the chromosomes can still line up to have a healthy baby since we are both the biological parents to our son. It's so weird, even with our first loss, I was nervous, and when I was pregnant with Caleb, again, I did have some nervous moments, but I was pretty much carefree. Now that I see my history, I'm more nervous TTC than ever.
@rmpar29 I have not re-checked my Vit D levels. I should though. The first thing I asked was if a low Vit D had a role in the MC and they assured me not. They wanted me to start supplements and I held off out of forgetfulness. This is so vain, but I read that a low Vit D level lowers metabolism. So anything I can take to speed it up I will do. Do I decided to get on board with all the vitamins. I take Vit D 3, prenatals with DHA, gummy fish oil, and biotin pretty much everyday when I remember ( I am sooo bad with taking meds/vitamins I always forget!). They said I was slightly low, so I"m sure I"m better now, but I would like it black and white on paper.
Sometimes I wish husbands could read our minds. Sometimes they say things in hopes to make us feel better and it ends up being worse. But I agree, it's his was way trying to not make me feel bad.
This is NTTCR but I have a pimple between my nose and lip off to the side. Yesterday, out of the blue, MH said "Hi Marilyn". I was like WTHECK?!? He then went on to say that that is the perfect place for a pimple and it doesn't look bad, and he meant it with nothing but good intentions (whatever, I think he was just trying to save himself at that point.) I rolled my eyes. He should have just not said anything.
@mkc5869 What a small world!! We were there at the same time then. I graduated HS in '02 and went straight to State. I was there for 2 years and came home. I followed my BF at the time. I wanna say he was doing Civil engineering as well. We broke up and I stayed for a while, but then came home and finished at our local college. Did you do the Thursday's "drink til you drown" in Juarez?
