SAIF/PAIF Welcome
http://waitingforraintostop.wordpress.com
Qotw: pretty casual. During cycles I tend to wear a lot of maxi skirts and dresses because it's the most comfy with all the bloating that happens!
Hi everyone.
JimBob: welcome!!
Labs: congrats again on finding your snowflakes. Fx for your cycle!
Sammer: sounds like things are going great! Fx!
Lacy: I am so, so sorry about your m/c. Take the time you need to heal.
McIrish: I'll be rooting for you for your upcoming cycle! Sometimes imperfect embies make perfect babies. You never know.
I've had a good week. We had our anatomy scan on Thursday and everything looked great, so I'm breathing a big sigh of relief. Of course IF brain immediately took over and I've been paranoid they hurt the baby by jostling her so much during the ultrasound. What I didn't realize until my NT scan us that the techs are totally willing to shake you and baby around like crazy to get baby to cooperate. After the NT I was actually sore for several days. Anyway ... The a/s also revealed that we are having a little GIRL!!! We are very happy.
As for wardrobe ... I have to dress pretty conservatively for work (I'm a gov't lawyer) and my current attire consists of a rotation of the few very staid and boring items I can currently fit into. (I've been in maternity bottoms and mostly maternity tops now for several weeks.)
PAIF'er here:
OMG I passed up my loss date on Sunday!!!! I am officially in new territory, 16 weeks tomorrow and SO happy that load is lifted. I can no longer compare our first pregnancy and this one, because they simply no longer compare! YAY!
I've also decidedly turned the first tri corner and feel like a million bucks (in comparison to the last two months). I cooked in our house last week for the first time since New Years Day! No joke. It was awesome and J is thrilled not to be required to eat like a 5-year-old any more. #winning.
We are still digesting our Trisomy X diagnosis but feeling good overall. I am making some geneticist appointments with people who are likely to be able to tell us more than our MFM's GC, who seemed to read me the internet. And downplay the potential problems a lot - of course - it is fair to think the problems will be very very minor. But we want to be prepared.
Otherwise, I am starting to think "geez, maybe this baby is going to be born..." and I should get myself together and start prepping. We haven't done a thing really. But so long as I have food, shelter, my boob and diapers, the rest is gravy. I try to remind myself of that! And of course, we have (seemingly) lots of time...
QOTW: I try to be 'put together' - so lots of jeans/skirts, boots, sweaters or cute tops, my stupid sciatica won't let me wear much more than a 1.5" heel but I do that when I can. I try not to look dumpy, but I do like to be comfy at home!
Me (43) and J (45) - same sex couple. And we don't feel 40+!

QOTW: Since I was laid-off I rarely make it out of my pjs. Sad, I know... But when I do manage to put clothes on I wear mostly maxi dresses and skirts thanks to the weight I've gained over the last few years. I finally gave up awhile back and gave all my cute, tiny clothes away. ( My sister has lost quite a bit of weight in the last year or two, so it makes me happy to see my clothes going to good use.

Praying unceasingly for a miracle. ALL welcome!
After my mini-meltdown last week about our cycle being delayed I am feeling better. We had to go into my clinic to get some blood work done for DH for our pgd testing and got to have a sit down with our nurse and discuss the delay. She really calmed me down and assured me that it was indeed an emergency and the donor feels bad about the delay and that she is very responsible and we are back on track as soon as she gets her period in a couple of weeks.
My style these days is lacking to be honest. In the winter it is all leggings, jeans and oversized sweaters. Whatever is warm and comfy! I haven't bought any new clothes in a while because I keep hoping to be pregnant and need maternity wear! I am looking pretty shabby! In the spring summer I love dresses and flip flops! Hopefully this year it will be maternity wear!

AFM: I need to schedule my WTF. As for now, we will not be cycling for a while, if ever again. DH told me last night he is ready to live CF. I think he is feeling this way because he's angry our last cycle didn't work with our known chromosomally normal embryo.
QOTW: I'm dress fairly casual. I like to get dressed up, but it happens so rarely.

@sammer818 - best of luck for a great transfer!! So glad your cycle went better than expected!!
@MrsMcIrish - really hoping these 2 embies surprise you!!!
@lacyj67 - so very sorry you're feeling sad. Please do something nice for yourself? I know you don't feel like it, but it could make you feel a bit better. Take all the time you need to decide your next steps. There's no rush!
@brooklynesque - congrats on your healthy baby girl!!!!
@2mamazinseattle - so glad you've reached an important milestone!
@DoublePortion - congrats again on team purple!!! Glad all is well!
@lincoln79 - huge congrats on such a fantastic beta!!!!
@ksgsmu - the delays are the worst!! I'm sure it will all fall into place this time, but I totally hear ya on the delays!
@mm29 - I'm so very sorry!!! I hope your DH is more calm and open to trying again after a bit of time has passed.
Afm - our donor still has not started her period. She says there is absolutely no chance she is pregnant. She's going in tomorrow for blood work to see if her period is on it's way. If not, they are thinking of giving her provera. The nurse said the donors cycle has been irregular since her last donation in nov. and because she had 38 eggs retrieved, she's not surprised its been off for a bit...
Today, I'm just happy we will be moving forward soon!!
We also picked our sperm donor and we both really like him and feel the 2 donors physical traits could make some gorgeous babies! (I'm more nurture than nature biased when it comes to personalities, though both donors have lovely personalites!)
Qotw - I live in yoga pants and sneakers and leggings and boots. when my husband and I go out, I make more of an effort!!!

My attire is casual and comfort, since it is winter I wear long sleeves, sweatshirts and scarves.
Ok I am going to bite the bullet and check in. For anyone that missed my intro, we have had 4 failed IUIs and 3 failed IVF cycles (including one c/p) and have decided to move on to donor embryos. Our main issue seems to be egg quality, but we may also have some slight sperm issues as well.
I had my consult with FI.RM yesterday and the RE said that he thinks we should have no problem starting our donor embryo cycle with my next period. This just seems crazy to me that I could be starting meds in 2 weeks.
I am still waiting for the program coordinator to call me so that we can get the ball rolling. On the medical side, I have all the prerequisite testing (SHG/SIS in the last 6 months and infections disease testing). I know that we will have to complete a psych eval, pay some of our cycle fees, paperwork, etc. So I hope we really do have time to get everything in order in 2 weeks.
QOTW: I usually dress for comfort. We have a casual dress code at work, so it's usually jeans and a weather appropriate top. If I feel like "dressing up" I will wear heels with my jeans, if not it's usually brown doc style shoes (I'm stuck in the late 90s early 00s), boots, or some sort of flats.

Well donor started AF and we scheduled our nurse talk for the 19th. That's some progress right? Lol
QOTW: My wardrobe is so sad! I used to love getting all dressed up with cute clothes from JCrew and Anthroplogy (on sale girls!!) then I gained some weight..not too much but enough not to fit in last yrs clothes!! Ok maybe alot. Jeans and a cute top when line dancing and..well..same thing if I go out to dinner! Obviously not a fancy place. I seriously need to stop eating pastries.
Why is it so hard to find cute "flowy" tops! I swear tops shrink more every season Thank goodness I don't have to dress up for work.
ME:46 MH:44 DE IVF 2014
Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive. Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

I get my IUD out today which is a big step and it will be the first time I tell my doc about the surrogacy. I hope he's supportive and wants to remain my doctor through the process.
I told my mom the other day and she seemed ok with it. She was a little sad about having a genetic grandchild out there that she won't know well but understands why I want to do it.
We are hoping I can pinpoint ovulation and have our first at home insemination with fresh sperm in April!
Question:
I dress so boring. I work at target so I wear red shirts and khaki pants all day. I usually put on pj pants as soon as I get home. On days off I'm just a jeans and sweater kind of gal. I hate socks and never wear them, even when it's -0!

Congrats to @lincoln79 on the BFP. Here's hoping for great doubling.
****PAIF response****
As @2mamazinseattle mentioned, our beta results improved last week! We are 6w 1d. We have our first ultrasound tomorrow morning and are really hoping it goes well.
We're both still (not so) secretly hoping for twins, although we're going to be over the moon thrilled if we have one or two growing embryos in there, especially if we get to hear/see the heartbeat/s!
QOTW: In winter I tend to wear jeans and v-neck sweaters or button-up shirts open over t-shirts. In summer, I wear cargo shorts and t-shirts or short-sleeved button ups. I live in blundstones for 2/3 of the year and chaco sandals for 1/3 of the year.
We're queer. I'm 33, have severe stage 4 endo, and had both fallopian tubes removed. My love ("Manada" on the boards, 32) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tavin and Casey at 21 weeks gestation.
Our IUIs
with @Manada: IUI# 1-7 (December 2012- September 2013) all BFN. Tried natural, femara, clomid, puregon/follistim, clomid and menopur combo, both the ovidrel and HCG triggers.
Our IVFs:
IVF #1 my eggs November/December 2013: Cancelled IVF due to poor response
IVF #2 my eggs/Manada's uterus January/February 2014
BCPs and lupron overlap Stimmed: 1/22-2/2: Bravelle and Menopur (dosage ranged from B300 and M150 to B375 and M150 to B300 and M225)
2/4 retrieved 10 eggs. Endo was much worse than expected. Only 3 eggs fertilized; February 7 transferred two day 3 embryos, froze one. All great condition.
BFP eve of 6dp3dt; Beta 1 (11dp3dt): 110; Beta 2 (13dp3dt): 175; Beta 3 (15dp3dt): 348; Beta 4 (19dp3dt): 2222; Beta 5 (21dp3dt): 4255
1st ultrasound (3/6 6w 1d): TWINS!!!! Twin A measuring 6w1d with a heartbeat of 118bpm. Twin B measuring 6w0d with a heartbeat of 113bpm.
***July 18, 2014 we lost our beautiful babies at 21 weeks gestation. They were born too early. Tavin Sara T. and Casey Elizabeth T. are beautiful and precious and we will love them and miss them forever.***

QOTW: Describe your wardrobe and how you like to dress.
Casual! I like sweats or leggings! Flip flops in summer. I'm currently staying home with my DD and not working, so sweats are ok. I'm not looking forward to dress clothes of any sort when I head back to work (and back to good insurance!) in the fall.
Me: 33 (Mosaic Turner's Syndrome/POF)
QOTD: Before getting pregnant I was very Jcrew/ Banana republic and loved to shop. I have been in maternity pants since 8 weeks, so I wear a variation of the same thing everyday....maternity skinny jeans or pants, long cardi over a maternity shirt of some sort. I am excited for Spring (if it ever happens) ....
