Re: **Third-Party Reproduction Check-In - March 3rd**

  • Am I really the first one to check-in!  That's gotta be a first for me :)

I'm on day 5 of Vivelle, my lining check is scheduled for the 12th and I paid to reserve our 5 snowflakes yesterday.  I really hope my lining has a chance to thicken up nicely so we won't be pushed back at all, I'm concerned because AF was really heavy yesterday and I had an Estrogen withdrawal migraine which shouldn't be happening since I'm on Vivelle!!

QOTW:  I'm a very casual person, my favorite clothing are jeans and a cozy hoodie.  I have to dress for work though and I've been changing up my style a big recently.  Black pants is the norm but I'm starting to wear some cute sweaters and/or scarfs to accent whatever top I'm wearing.

Hi ladies, Congrats to Lincoln!! So excited for you:-)

I had a saline sono yesterday to check up post miscarriage for any tissue which was clear. If my lining cooperates, I'll transfer on 3/18. Not excited as they are 6 day early blasts. But need to transfer them before I can pick a new donor.

Wardrobe: with all my IF weight gain over 3.5 yrs, my wardrobe is not what it used to be. I love cute clothes but they don't current fit. I've started back at the gym so sweats is my current attire....lol

  • ***PAIF response***

    Hi everyone.

    JimBob: welcome!!

Labs: congrats again on finding your snowflakes. Fx for your cycle!

Sammer: sounds like things are going great! Fx!

Lacy: I am so, so sorry about your m/c. Take the time you need to heal.

McIrish: I'll be rooting for you for your upcoming cycle! Sometimes imperfect embies make perfect babies. You never know.

I've had a good week. We had our anatomy scan on Thursday and everything looked great, so I'm breathing a big sigh of relief. Of course IF brain immediately took over and I've been paranoid they hurt the baby by jostling her so much during the ultrasound. What I didn't realize until my NT scan us that the techs are totally willing to shake you and baby around like crazy to get baby to cooperate. After the NT I was actually sore for several days. Anyway ... The a/s also revealed that we are having a little GIRL!!! We are very happy.

As for wardrobe ... I have to dress pretty conservatively for work (I'm a gov't lawyer) and my current attire consists of a rotation of the few very staid and boring items I can currently fit into. (I've been in maternity bottoms and mostly maternity tops now for several weeks.)

PAIF Check-In: Had an u/s this morning and thankfully my cervix is nice and long. I have to go back to the OB tomorrow and I'm not sure if he'll check to see if it's still soft. It makes me feel so much better to know that these babies aren't going to fall out at any minute! DH was able to go to today's appt and unfortunately we had a different tech than usual, who isn't as good as the main one, so the images were crummy. :( He was so disappointed. However, we did confirm that we are indeed having a boy & a girl.

QOTW: Since I was laid-off I rarely make it out of my pjs. Sad, I know... But when I do manage to put clothes on I wear mostly maxi dresses and skirts thanks to the weight I've gained over the last few years. I finally gave up awhile back and gave all my cute, tiny clothes away. :(( My sister has lost quite a bit of weight in the last year or two, so it makes me happy to see my clothes going to good use.

  • I've had a pretty good week. My first round of IUI has been moved forward to the 8th of March, from the 11th, because they think I'll O earlier this month. I also told my cousin that I'm TTC, so she's coming with me for my first round of IUIs, which is kind of weight off my shoulders. Other than that, not much.

QOTW: I wear a lot of dresses, to be honest, all in greens, blues and purples. I have one pair of suit trousers that I got for when I started work and haven't worn them since my first day. I have something like 40 pairs of high heels though, haha.

  • Hello! I am currently 7dpici and not feeling a thing. We had my progesterone blood work done yesterday and found out that it is double what it was last cycle. We're happy about that. We're not sure when we will test, but we do have a blood pregnancy test on Monday.

We're not sure how much longer we are going to ttc. DW and I are at least both on the same page that we go back and forth on whether to try again if this cycle doesn't take. We're just not sure, but I do know that the decision will not be made lightly and we will both make sure we are on the same page.

QOTW: I'm a casual kind of girl. I love summery dresses and skirts and would rather be in those with flip-flops than pants and sneakers any way. Currently, I'm wearing a sweatshirt and comfy pants due to a herniated disc, but honestly, that's my go to lately!

TTC our first. Married to, and madly in love with, my beautiful wife. Living with our fur baby and enjoying 19 nieces and nephews.
    • DW and I have been tracking, preparing, getting medical testing since January 2013.

    • Third Cycle: Unmedicated ICI w/ Donor Sperm: 10/13/13, 10/15/13, 10/17/13, 10/21/13: BFN
    • January 2014: Sonohysterogram shows excellent lining & tubes have no blockages
    • Fourth Cycle:  Monitored clomid cycle  w/ ICI's at home: 1/24/14 and 1/25/14. Ovulation verified:  BFN
    • Fifth Cycle: 02/2014 Femara 5mg with ovidrel trigger CD14: BFN
    • Taking a few months off to evaluate if we want to keep trying

  • Hey ladies!  Thinking about all of you!

After my mini-meltdown last week about our cycle being delayed I am feeling better.  We had to go into my clinic to get some blood work done for DH for our pgd testing and got to have a sit down with our nurse and discuss the delay.  She really calmed me down and assured me that it was indeed an emergency and the donor feels bad about the delay and that she is very responsible and we are back on track as soon as she gets her period in a couple of weeks.

My style these days is lacking to be honest.  In the winter it is all leggings, jeans and oversized sweaters.  Whatever is warm and comfy!  I haven't bought any new clothes in a while because I keep hoping to be pregnant and need maternity wear!  I am looking pretty shabby!  In the spring summer I love dresses and flip flops! Hopefully this year it will be maternity wear!

AFM: I need to schedule my WTF. As for now, we will not be cycling for a while, if ever again. DH told me last night he is ready to live CF. I think he is feeling this way because he's angry our last cycle didn't work with our known chromosomally normal embryo.

QOTW:  I'm dress fairly casual.  I like to get dressed up, but it happens so rarely.

@love4labs326 - so excited everything is happening so quickly for you!
@sammer818 - best of luck for a great transfer!! So glad your cycle went better than expected!!
@MrsMcIrish - really hoping these 2 embies surprise you!!!
@lacyj67 - so very sorry you're feeling sad. Please do something nice for yourself? I know you don't feel like it, but it could make you feel a bit better. Take all the time you need to decide your next steps. There's no rush!
@brooklynesque - congrats on your healthy baby girl!!!!
@2mamazinseattle - so glad you've reached an important milestone!
@DoublePortion - congrats again on team purple!!! Glad all is well!
@lincoln79 - huge congrats on such a fantastic beta!!!!
@ksgsmu - the delays are the worst!! I'm sure it will all fall into place this time, but I totally hear ya on the delays!
@mm29 - I'm so very sorry!!! I hope your DH is more calm and open to trying again after a bit of time has passed.

Afm - our donor still has not started her period. She says there is absolutely no chance she is pregnant. She's going in tomorrow for blood work to see if her period is on it's way. If not, they are thinking of giving her provera. The nurse said the donors cycle has been irregular since her last donation in nov. and because she had 38 eggs retrieved, she's not surprised its been off for a bit...
Today, I'm just happy we will be moving forward soon!!
We also picked our sperm donor and we both really like him and feel the 2 donors physical traits could make some gorgeous babies! (I'm more nurture than nature biased when it comes to personalities, though both donors have lovely personalites!)

Qotw - I live in yoga pants and sneakers and leggings and boots. when my husband and I go out, I make more of an effort!!!

  • Check in: in the TWW IUI with DS on 3/1

My attire is casual and comfort, since it is winter I wear long sleeves, sweatshirts and scarves.
  • Ok I am going to bite the bullet and check in.  For anyone that missed my intro, we have had 4 failed IUIs and 3 failed IVF cycles (including one c/p) and have decided to move on to donor embryos.  Our main issue seems to be egg quality, but we may also have some slight sperm issues as well.

I had my consult with FI.RM yesterday and the RE said that he thinks we should have no problem starting our donor embryo cycle with my next period.  This just seems crazy to me that I could be starting meds in 2 weeks.

I am still waiting for the program coordinator to call me so that we can get the ball rolling.  On the medical side, I have all the prerequisite testing (SHG/SIS in the last 6 months and infections disease testing).  I know that we will have to complete a psych eval, pay some of our cycle fees, paperwork, etc.  So I hope we really do have time to get everything in order in 2 weeks.

QOTW:  I usually dress for comfort.  We have a casual dress code at work, so it's usually jeans and a weather appropriate top.  If I feel like "dressing up" I will wear heels with my jeans, if not it's usually brown doc style shoes (I'm stuck in the late 90s early 00s), boots, or some sort of flats.

Check In: well IUI #5.1 was a bfn. WTF appt is next Tuesday. Been a real downer since the 21st of Feb. Really hoping that that was it for me. Getting a second opinion and going to try to wrap my head around going DE route, which scares me.

QOTW: I'm a jeans and t-shirt girl. Color scheme is pretty neutral: jeans, wht, blk, brn, beige, gray, blue, off wht.

Alot of great updates!! @lacyj67 @Mrs.McIrish @Sunni01 sending big hugs. @mm29 I am so sorry that YH mentioned wanting to be CF. Praying as time goes on he thinks differently.

Well donor started AF and we scheduled our nurse talk for the 19th. That's some progress right? Lol

QOTW: My wardrobe is so sad! I used to love getting all dressed up with cute clothes from JCrew and Anthroplogy (on sale girls!!) then I gained some weight..not too much but enough not to fit in last yrs clothes!! Ok maybe alot. Jeans and a cute top when line dancing and..well..same thing if I go out to dinner! Obviously not a fancy place. I seriously need to stop eating pastries.

Why is it so hard to find cute "flowy" tops! I swear tops shrink more every season :) Thank goodness I don't have to dress up for work.

    ME:46 MH:44 DE IVF 2014
Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive.  Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

    DE IVF #1 (4/26) BFN  DE FET #1 (6/4) BFP! Beta 1=339 Beta 2=852 Beta 3=9957 EDD 2/22/15!!

  • Hi all!! If you all don't remember me, I'm doing a TS for my husbands cousin and his husband. They have a lawyer and she is supposed to give them the first draft of our contract soon.

I get my IUD out today which is a big step and it will be the first time I tell my doc about the surrogacy. I hope he's supportive and wants to remain my doctor through the process.

I told my mom the other day and she seemed ok with it. She was a little sad about having a genetic grandchild out there that she won't know well but understands why I want to do it.

We are hoping I can pinpoint ovulation and have our first at home insemination with fresh sperm in April!

    Question:
I dress so boring. I work at target so I wear red shirts and khaki pants all day. I usually put on pj pants as soon as I get home. On days off I'm just a jeans and sweater kind of gal. I hate socks and never wear them, even when it's -0!
  • Hi ladies! GL to everyone going through a cycle right now - I am jealous of you! Never thought I'd say that! AFM I am just still here waiting to find a donor and to get a schedule. I am getting impatient. DH and I had a talk yesterday because his prior cut off for having kids (way before we knew how long our IF road would be) was 40 and he'll be 40 in August. I'll be 36. Because of my frustration and all the problems we have I'm starting to doubt all of this. Like it's just not meant to be and maybe we should just move on and be CF. I asked him about it and he said his previous age requirement is out the window. So what we might be older parents? That will be that much more incentive to take care of ourselves and it will keep us young (or just run us ragged) but who cares anymore? I love him for saying that but I am feeling more and more doubtful as time ticks on. This fall will be 6 years since we starting trying, and 4 since we first visited an RE. I am getting tired of it consuming our lives. Sorry to be a downer!

QOTW: For work we dress business professional so I have a lot of pants, dress tops, and suits. Other than that I am pretty casual - jeans, sweaters, t-shirts.

    ****PAIF response****

As @2mamazinseattle mentioned, our beta results improved last week! We are 6w 1d. We have our first ultrasound tomorrow morning and are really hoping it goes well.
We're both still (not so) secretly hoping for twins, although we're going to be over the moon thrilled if we have one or two growing embryos in there, especially if we get to hear/see the heartbeat/s!

QOTW: In winter I tend to wear jeans and v-neck sweaters or button-up shirts open over t-shirts. In summer, I wear cargo shorts and t-shirts or short-sleeved button ups. I live in blundstones for 2/3 of the year and chaco sandals for 1/3 of the year.

    ****loss discussed*****

We're queer. I'm 33, have severe stage 4 endo, and had both fallopian tubes removed. My love ("Manada" on the boards, 32) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tavin and Casey at 21 weeks gestation.

    Our IUIs
with @Manada: IUI# 1-7 (December 2012- September 2013) all BFN. Tried natural, femara, clomid, puregon/follistim, clomid and menopur combo, both the ovidrel and HCG triggers.

    Our IVFs:
IVF #1 my eggs November/December 2013: Cancelled IVF due to poor response

    IVF #2 my eggs/Manada's uterus January/February 2014
BCPs and lupron overlap Stimmed: 1/22-2/2: Bravelle and Menopur (dosage ranged from B300 and M150 to B375 and M150 to B300 and M225)
2/4 retrieved 10 eggs. Endo was much worse than expected. Only 3 eggs fertilized; February 7 transferred two day 3 embryos, froze one. All great condition.
    BFP eve of 6dp3dt; Beta 1 (11dp3dt): 110; Beta 2 (13dp3dt): 175; Beta 3 (15dp3dt): 348; Beta 4 (19dp3dt): 2222; Beta 5 (21dp3dt): 4255
    1st ultrasound (3/6  6w 1d): TWINS!!!! Twin A measuring 6w1d with a heartbeat of 118bpm. Twin B measuring 6w0d with a heartbeat of 113bpm.

***July 18, 2014 we lost our beautiful babies at 21 weeks gestation. They were born too early. Tavin Sara T. and Casey Elizabeth T. are beautiful and precious and we will love them and miss them forever.***

    FET #1 December 2014
Intralipid infusion on Dec 10. Transfer of 1 day 3 nine-cell embryo into my uterus on Dec. 19. (acupuncture immediately before and after)
    BFP on Dec. 27; Beta 1 Jan 2 (14dp3dt): 665, Beta 2 Jan 4 (16dp3dt): 1859, Beta 3 Jan 6 (18dp3dt): 4449, Beta 4 Jan 10 (22dp3dt): 12,251.

Keeping my FX for you @Mrs.McIrish

AFM: Looks like I'm just chilling for another month before we start another DS IUI. I had my follow-up with Dr. KK and it wasn't terrible- but I looked at my online file the weekend before and freaked out for a few days at my list of things wrong with me. I'm trying to be positive though- if this is what needs to happen in order for me to be successful, then this is the path I'm taking. I started a lot of new meds this week and I'm still kinda adjusting to that. Hopefully everything works like it should and I can start in April.

QOTW: Nothing fits anymore but I've been rocking dresses/skirts with leggings most of the winter. Comfy and I don't need to shave my legs so often. Clearly comfort outweighs style these days.

  • @2mamazinseattle - I have Trisomy X & know a little girl (daughter of a friend) who does also.  I don't know all the statistics, but between the two of us, there are not any problems that have resulted from it.  I see a geneticist every few years and she has told me that typically the most issue that girls with Trisomy X have is learning difficulties, but I think that it is rare.

Check-In: How is it going? What are your next steps? How are you feeling?Feeling confused!  I've started the steps toward our FET in July.  I went to see my OB (for a checkup) and asked my questions about a 2nd pregnancy, some of which relate to my Turner's Syndrome diagnosis.  I also scheduled an appointment to see my cardiologist and have an MRI before we would start meds at the end of May to make sure that my heart is still healthy enough to carry a pregnancy.  So, the confusion lies with my husband... I put it on him to make appointments (other than the two I just discussed) because with our DD I did everything, this time I told him it's his turn - to be responsible and make a decision to have another baby or not.  He called our RE office to find out if we need to do a consult in office or over the phone... but that's it.  No appointment made.  That was a month ago.  So, I'm not sure if he does or doesn't.  When I ask him, he doesn't really answer in affirmative... anyway, just confused.

QOTW: Describe your wardrobe and how you like to dress.
Casual!  I like sweats or leggings! :)  Flip flops in summer.  I'm currently staying home with my DD and not working, so sweats are ok.  I'm not looking forward to dress clothes of any sort when I head back to work (and back to good insurance!) in the fall.

Not much to report here. Anatomy scan is in two weeks, so just waiting now. I usually love ultrasounds, but I am nervous for that one and will hopefully feel better when it is done:-)

QOTD: Before getting pregnant I was very Jcrew/ Banana republic and loved to shop. I have been in maternity pants since 8 weeks, so I wear a variation of the same thing everyday....maternity skinny jeans or pants, long cardi over a maternity shirt of some sort. I am excited for Spring (if it ever happens) ....

8/2011: Diagnosed with ovarian cancer, ovaries and tubes removed

    12/2011: Finished chemo

    5/2013: Cleared for DE IVF

    11/13: DEgg IVF#1

    8/5/14: Grace was born!
