Spoke to my nurse earlier this week and I got my calander (last BCPS on the 13 and start stims on the 18.
QOTD Guilana Dipandi's dress was by farrrrr my favorite!
I'm still waiting for my period to come... any day now! Is anyone else tired of always waiting for something?! I'm hoping one day soon the waiting will be worth it.
Good luck to everyone who has already started the cycle... especially to those painfully waiting during their 2WW
QOTD: Cate Blanchett looked incredible. Not necessarily the dress I would choose, but she was stunning all around.

UGH!!! thought I would have started the meds Monday. Now they are telling me to start the Follistim on Friday. Said they wanted to give me a 3-4 day "break" after the BCP. WTF...I hate this not knowing from the next what is going to happen.
QOTD: What was your favorite Oscar gown last night?
I said I wouldn't watch but ended up watching....Sandra Bullock's don't remember the designer.
It's my first IVF and I am day 4 of stims. 150 of bravelle and 150 of menopur. I also had my first monitoring this morning since starting the meds and I was pleasantly surprised. 14 follies on the right and 11 on the left. I also got the green light to keep exercising until retrieval and just 'listen to my body'. I was happy about that.
Other than some minor cramping and maybe a little weight gain, I'm feeling good.

OK...Here goes...
In early Feb my husband had the flu and with it came a fever that lasted 3days. At that time I was on BCPs prepping for a March IVF w/ ICSI cycle. When I called the doctors office to let them know, they just pushed our cycle back 1 week and wanted to have another SA done the morning that I was starting Lupron, that was yesterday. Well the results came back yesterday afternoon and they told us that they were really really bad, and that we may not have enough sprem to fertilize all of the eggs we get, but they did not tell me an exact number. I asked what they suggested and they said we could go in 1 of 2 directions- 1. stop everything and just hold out a couple of mouths and give his system time to recooperate...or 2. just keep going and hope things get better by the time we have ER which is around Mrach 25th. We have waited so long (we found out in Nov. that IVF w/ ICSI was our only option, and we were ready to go, except we were just waiting for my next cycle- even after a round of provera, I did not get one until Feb!) so I am beyond sick of feeling like my life is on hold! So I cried on the phone, and because of that the nurse said we should go with option 2 and so I started Lupron last night. But all night and all morning it bothered me, did we make the right decision? I called this morning and found out that after the wash we only had 1 sprem to work with!!! knowing this I may have choose differently. But I am still sick of waiting. The nurse this morning suggested that we go with option 1. My husband doesnt want to do that though, so as a compromise the nurse said that they would just keep me on Lupron an additional week and re-test him right before I start stims, and if things do not improve we can pull the plug than. But again, I dont know if that is even the right thing to do...so what would you do? sorry for the long story!

I originally posted a new discussion, but pretty much every response I got was to tell me I should have posted here instead.... So here I am. Hope I am "joining" the group the right way just by adding my story.
I am new to posting on this site but not at all new to infertility and treatment. After 2 and a half years TTC with over a year on oral meds (4 months on Clomid - thinned lining - and 10 months Letrozole with good response) and 6 failed IUIs, my husband (36) and I (turning 36 next month) have decided it is time to give IVF a try. We are just starting our first IVF cycle. After three weeks on BCP (which I just find ironic, by the way), I started Lupron injections on Feb 25. So far so good on that. The needles are so tiny, they really do not hurt. Tonight is my last BCP. Out baseline ultrasound is set for March 9 with a plan to start Bravelle after that.
A little about us: We have minor male factor issues and I was diagnosed with polycystic ovaries via ultrasound (short of full blown PCOS, as my cycles have always been regular, all indications are that I ovulate, LH levels normal and no insuline resistance issues), so we are not issue free, but there is nothing so severe as to clearly be "the problem." I am also a 5 year thyroid cancer survivor with post-surgical hypothyroidism for added fun. My thyroid levels are generally stable with medication, but the BCP reduces absorption but Endo thought it was not worth tweeking dose for only a few weeks, so I'm pretty extra tired right now. Glad to be going off that tonight! I thought the BCP phase was supposed to be the easy part. Ah well...
I have done a lot of research and my older sis is an OBGYN, so she is a great resourse, too. I feel pretty well informed about this whole process, but I thought maybe sharing the experience with women going through the same thing might help with some of the emotional aspects of this situation. Thanks for letting me be a part of your group.

@klalax I'm so sorry to hear u going thru this..I know how u feel about all the waiting..u must feel so frustrated. If it were me, I would ask my Dr what the best option for me is. No matter how impatient, anxious or upset I am about the extra wait time, I wouldn't want to rush bc I want everything to be in line before moving forward. There's just too much invested into one cycle. I really hope everything will work out ok for u..

Hi everyone, here is a little update- I was so unsettled on my decision yesterday morning, that I knew it was the wrong one. So after a couple phone calls into the nurses and doing some research, I feel like my husband and I have made a better choice.
The lab told me during our report, that there were immature sperm in the sample, indicating that they were wiped out by the fever, and are now trying to make a comeback. So hearing this I looked up how long it takes immature sperm to become mature and it said 64 to 72 days. Knowing this I pulled out the calendar, counted 3 days after he had been fever free for 24 hours to 72 days later. This landed me on April 25th, a Friday, and since my RE doesn't do ER on Fridays, the nurse and I looked at April 28th and decided that if we could make it work so that we were doing an ER on the 28th we would be much more comfortable. I love how I am the one who came up with this game plan, and not the dr...but we all know so much more about our bodies than we ever wanted to from this, I am sure we would all have no trouble in med school by the time we are finished! lol
So long story short, we are delayed yet another month, and I guess I will no longer be a Shamrock...I will head over to hanging on a dream while I await April check ins. Thanks to all of you shamrocks for your support. I will miss our group! I wish you all the best of luck and BFP!!! I will be lurking here often and pulling for each one of you!
