I didn't ask to be insulted. A simple yes or no would have sufficed. I guess I was looking to be told that I wasn't worthy of being pregnant. I guess I was looking for a little pat on the back and a you can do it. Instead I was told that I am creating pregnancy discrimination for others. Get over yourselves. You are no better than anyone else.
You're looking to be told you're not worthy of being pregnant? Okay! I don't know why you think that your initial post would instigate people to give you a "pat on the back" when you're thinking you should tell your job that pregnant people can't manage their lives?? Not all of us are you, and some of us want to be promoted in the future!
You asked whether we thought you should "pull the pregnancy card" and it would seem like the answer is No.
Maybe it sucks now, going home and being exhausted sucks, but then I'm not sure what you expected to happen when you got knocked up?

Aww you didn't get the answer you wanted. I guess you should invest in a mirror.
You're still no better than anyone else aliletz. Sorry. Being more and more awful doesn't buy you a tiara in my book.
I work in a high-pressure business development position with a large defense contractor. There is a lot of travel and fast deadlines. Sorry that I am not as good as all of you. No worries. I will not be using the Bump anymore or replying with positive messages of encouragement to all of your posts anymore. Thanks for nothing.
Oh my God! What is wrong with you people? You are bullies!

Well at least I have something entertaining to read while stuck at home with a sinus infection.
Right on to all the PP's. Last thing we need is pregnant women having a rap for being unable to perform job duties. Pregnancy isn't a disability. If you can't be pregnant and do your job then quit or ask for a leave of absence.
OP, you need to remove all of the "flags" on the posts just because you don't like what they say. Nobody has violated any rules except for you by excessive flagging. That will get you banned from the site.
Listen up sugartits, you'll know when I'm making crappy comments. That was not a crappy comment at all. It didn't even border on bitchy. I was being sincere and actually nicer than I would have been had you not said you already shoulder the work of multiple people.
The truth is that people tend to assume that pregnant women are going to be playing "that card" and trying to get out of shit, and IMO, once you start asking for special treatment or functioning at less than your best, you're setting up those down the line for derisive looks. This is the reason that I've hobbled into work with debilitating migraines, sat at my desk with washcloths over my eyes while doing teleconferences that made my ears bleed, and puked discreetly so no one would know, when I would have just called in sick for the same thing when not pregnant.
If you're going to wish ill upon me, I will take you one further and say that I hope your twat rips open to your asshole during birth and that someone replaces your peri water with vinegar. Now do you feel crappy?
Boom. Aliletz'd.
I really need you to know that I legit LOL'd at that. Sugartits. That's the best thing I've heard all day.
We all should post what we do. I am an officer for a huge hospital. I work with psych, incarcerated, drunk, & unruly patients and the families. I get called for alot of restraining, wrestling, talking down, threats, you name it. Let's get physical, physical!

Insults and foul language aren't against the rules?
Nope sure as hell isn't.
Sorry. I didn't realize that those two things were perfectly okay. I'm done. You all successfully made me feel like shit and I won't come back sorry for being your "entertainment" for the day,
Insults and foul language aren't against the rules?
Sure isn't. Maybe you should go read the thread "Read Me First" before you start flagging jut because people have you honest opinions; which, you asked for! You can reverse those flags you made by going and "loving" all of those posts you flagged. Simple. Plus, I didn't see any insults from anyone but you.

No need to use quotations here. Where's my puncutuation posse to back me up or set "me" straight?
Pregnancy is not a disability. You asked for it. Suck it up like the rest of us. If you can't handle it, then talk to your boss, but be careful how you approach it. Especially if you work with mostly men.

Hey, so you're in sales like me. Guess what, I leave the house 3-4 days a week between 4-6am to catch flights all over the east coast. I'm sitting in an airport restaurant right now on layover. I have lots of deadlines, lots of business to develop, and over 100 accounts to maintain. Last week, I was on 4 flights and drove just shy of 1,000 miles.
This week, I'll be in NJ, NY, PA, and CT all before Friday. I'd love to compare frequent flyer miles with you. This flight I'm getting ready to board is my 17th trip of 2014 so far.
Suck it up, you sit at a desk all day and type emails comparatively.

How will women ever get equal treatment in the work place when a terminology like "the pregnancy card" even exists. The thought just hurts my brain.
I work in engineering, a very male dominated field, and I would never think of asking for special treatment. I'm very appreciative of all the working moms who beat down the door for me so I DO get equal treatment.
So please, don't ask something like "when us it ok to use the pregnancy card?"... The answer is never (unless it's a safety issue like one pp mentioned)
I've never chimed in on the snarky posts, but this one struck a nerve. I'm home sick today (so extra crabby) but, no worries, won't be loggibg any time off, cause oh yeah, I worked all last weekend. Ok end of rant.
I'm on my iphone and can't see the flags. Did I get flagged?! That would be awesome!!
I work about 50-70 hours per week on average (sometimes as big of a range as 20-100 per week) as an attorney at a large law firm. I have to be available to answer emails at all times, and often have to work as late as 2 or 3 a.m. and then wake back up at 6 or 7. I also commute 75 miles each way to work, and currently have to manage all the household stuff myself because my husband is deployed. All while preeeeeegnant. Everyone please pat me on the back.

Preach, BL! I immediately thought of you when I saw this one start whining.
sugar tits is going right up there with cunt punt in my book of phrases I must begin using immediately.
OP, put on your big girl panties and deal. I have a kid and a husband and a FT job too. I've been doing my job and the job of the girl who left in November since she left. I've done it through debilitating migraines and while puking 10-15 times per day for 18 weeks straight. You want to know how much time I spent out of office for it, 8 hours, two half days. That's it. Suck it up buttercup.
Also, stop calling my friends bullies when they are giving you their honest opinion. It makes you look BSC and like a bitch.

I'm still looking for all of the support that @cospringswm65 seems to think she's given.

1. You may feel like a weenie because you're totally being a weenie. I understand having a rough day or week or whatever and venting, but seriously considering asking for a lighter workload because you're pregnant is ridiculous. You are pregnant, not disabled.
2. Lots of us have other kids, high pressure jobs, medical issues, etc we are managing in addition to being pregnant. It's called life.
I know NJ just updated laws for pregnant women to be sure employers are making accommodations to maintain a healthy pregnancy. Check out your state laws and keep your dr updated regarding your physical responses to your work day. In NJ a dr can request accommodations, including placing a worker in a less physically demanding role, and employers must provide reasonable accommodations. Check out your laws and work policy regarding this. If you need to check out going out on early disability, but you will need des documentation.

Crap! That damn toddler. I actually did forget. I'm missing swim lessons tonight while I'm flying home at 7:30pm.

Never apologize for being entertaining. DS's nap time was just made a lot more interesting.
@shanicenicolle it is rough. It is so draining but there's a promotion like I mentioned before I want and I am giving them 0 excuses to say no. I have hyperemesis gravidarum so I'm a great puker and never feel good, I go throw up, brush my teeth, take a zofran amd go back at it. I'd do want to cry from lack of sleep because sometimes I go back to work after not getting any sleep. To be honest I find a conference room when on rounds and I let out a cry, wipe my face and continue working. But I love my job and I'm doing it to provide for my kids. And the least thing I want to do after working 12-16 almost everyday is take care of 3 young kids while preggers but oh well. @tallmomma29 yup. I couldn't do that job. Nope. Never. More power to you. Ugh. And the added stress of spousal deployment. Good job momma.
