Damn...got here way too late for the party. I also didn't open the thread at first because there is no one I can play a "pregnancy card" to with being a SAHM. I think my toddler would give me this look if I tried.
What board will OP pop up on next, lurk for a while, and then GBCB 50 billion times??? Any bets?
@literachick I didn't know you work in hospice, so do I *high five!* Hospice rules! I told a new nurse today that she needed a hall pass when she headed towards the bathroom and she totally came to my office to get it. If only I knew we could actually have pregnancy cards!! I'll be buying from @skeemer in bulk. There are far too many tasks throughout the day that I'm just no longer capable of doing because I'm with child. I also need a stash for driving in case I get pulled over, a stash for when DH asks me why I stopped doing household chores, and a stash for when my family asks why I don't call anymore. These cards are going to make me a much better person! No more responsibilities!!!!
I was just looking back and much is "SS can't deal with life"- posts. which is cool, I can't deal with life most days, but I don't need a bunch of interweb acquaintances to tell me to buck up and deal. Having been THIS way and apologizing about being a forums newb since last August, IDK, seems like things take a while for her. She also has trouble googling, but so does my mom. I thought her account was deleted, but if all her history is still there, is it not? Do we get another g-bye? ETA: fat fingers.
Man. I totally missed this because I was too busy, ya know, working at my engineering job then taking care of my toddler.
Anyway, I totally played the pregnancy card to get a free donut at work. Can I get some clarification ... that's ok, right? I mean, donuts.
July 14 has come to the consensus that food, SOs, and bathrooms are all appropriate pregnancy card circumstances.
Ooooh, bathrooms, that's a good one. I should have busted that out this weekend, we went to a show and the lines were, as always, ridiculous. All the ladies in the line were talking about multiple births and birth horror stories as soon as they saw me, but no one let me bump up the line. Bishes. I was just happy they assumed (correctly) that I'm pregnant and not fat. Or turning into Alfred Hitchcock.
It's things like this that lead to the inappropriate comments from other men and women in the workplace. I was overwhelmed at work and had a moment. My reading coach that I happened to be talking to at the moment saw me break down. This was my plan time so I just walked back to my room. She had the audacity to say as I was walking away "oh, and you have pregnancy brain". It's a good thing I was walking away.
I am not the only teacher overwhelmed with the expectations being put on us right now. I am the only one pregnant. My pregnancy is not slowing me down in my classroom nor affecting my students. I am insulted that she would insinuate that. I think it comes from people "playing the pregnancy card."
Wow, I honestly felt I took the time to give @cospringswm65 a thoughtful reply and she just generalized all the responses as offensive.

No, because you are all fat-ass, jobless, welfare-sucking slobs who spend their day tryng to make other people miserable. I have had enough. How's that? You all have a, "I can't get over the fact that high school is over and all I have now is the bump" complex. I'm done. Have a nice life. You are useless to society. See ya, bitches
I know NJ just updated laws for pregnant women to be sure employers are making accommodations to maintain a healthy pregnancy. Check out your state laws and keep your dr updated regarding your physical responses to your work day. In NJ a dr can request accommodations, including placing a worker in a less physically demanding role, and employers must provide reasonable accommodations. Check out your laws and work policy regarding this. If you need to check out going out on early disability, but you will need des documentation.
I'm tired. Sometimes I go to bed at 7:30 pm. I don't have any kids (except the one wiggling around in my uterus) but I do have a cat that is quite a handful. I work in a machine shop, standing 10.5 hours a day 5 or 6 days a week, lifting heavy junk, making parts for airplanes and spaceships. I have often thought that I would really like a load off, or at least not to have to wake up at 4am. But it's my job. My coworkers have been plenty helpful if there's something dangerously heavy I need to move, but I'm not going to run around and cry "I'm pregnant! Help me!" Unless something bad happens and I'm put on bed rest, I'm not gonna slack off at work. I may be one of the very few women in my profession, but I don't want to make myself or pregnant people in general look bad. I drink a cup of coffee and do what I need to do to get paid.
There's my sob story. Some of you ladies make me feel lazy! I'm glad I don't have to travel for work. (I know who makes parts for those airplanes ;P)
I work in a high-pressure business development position with a large defense contractor. There is a lot of travel and fast deadlines. Sorry that I am not as good as all of you. No worries. I will not be using the Bump anymore or replying with positive messages of encouragement to all of your posts anymore. Thanks for nothing.
I clicked this post because I thought it was going to be a funny post.... What a waste of time. 8 pages of bickering? I. Couldn't even stand to read past the page one. Wow ladies.... haha
Glad you think you're such a big deal. Why did this turn into a discussion about who is better than who. I wasn't trying to show anyone up. Someone asked me what I do. I don't think I'm any better than any of you. I was just answering a question. Look. All of you jumped right on the let's poke at the girl who was looking for some "I'm tired too" on the bump band wagon. I think it's all very sad that this is how you treat people. I sent the email to get my account deletd because this "community" is not a community at all. It is an excuse to be the digusting, hateful person you wish you could be to people's faces. I want NO part of it. Back the F OFF! All of you!

And here you are being passive aggressive.
Oh.
But she said "haha". That overrides everything she said before that.
Have to admit I have been skipping over this thread, the use of pregnancy card is just a turn off... Had to see what all the fuss was about when it hit 8 pages

The only time a pregnancy card should be used is to garner free food from others.
I used it to razz my Lt. on base the other day. She took the last piece of home made banana cream pie. I hadn't even gotten a crumb. I told her she took food straight from the baby's mouth

Since when has a bunch of hormonal pregnant women stating honest opinions bickering? And I'm going to play the pregnancy card now because of my prego mind I don't get how this is funny. Someone help! Lol. Now it's funny
Re: When to play the "pregnancy card" at work
I'm fucking tired! Who's with me?

I always miss the crazy ones. Sigh.

I completely ignored this thread until I saw it had over 3K views. My brain hurts now. #-o
I didn't know there even was a "pregnancy card." My bad. If anything, I have to be careful that I don't do too much just to prove I still can. :-?
