Re: ***Shimmering Shamrocks CheckIn 2/27***

  • Had my cd21 apt yesterday, and got the green light to start estrace 2x/day and lupron. My baseline is tentatively scheduled for 3/10 assuming I get AF on the 7-8th.

FX this change in protocol helps get more decent eggs. I can't wait to start giving myself shots !! Lol. So weird.

I hope everyone is in good spirits and doing well <3

QOTW: I'll prob watch, but I have no idea who is even nominated lol.

  • One week of BCP down, and one week to go. If you've been following my story you know I've been waiting a really long time for my PGD results. Turns out it was my fault! HAHAHAHA... I forgot to sign off on my release authorization. I didnt think I needed to because I had never had to do so before. (I guess every testing facility is different) I didn't even pay the stupid thing any attention and thought it pertained to other testing the facility does.  Duhhh me. So Tuesday I called to see what the hold up was and was able to get everything taken care of. And I got the results from my RE this morning. I have 7 genetically normal embryos!! I couldn't be more excited. We are full steam ahead, and I'm hoping, praying, and wishing on every star that this is MY CYCLE!!

QOTW: Nope... I have a hard time with award shows. To me its a bunch of rich and famous people getting together and handing out awards to each other for being rich and famous. At least the musical ones have a bit of entertainment. In which case I DVR it and skip through the award stuff. I'd rather binge on Duck Dynasty which happens to be my new fascination.

  • Hi Shamrocks! Good luck to all of you this month.

You can move me to cancelled/delayed. My ER was pushed up to Tuesday (two days ago) but we only retrieved one egg and it was immature. We felt this was our last attempt and RE confirmed she wouldn't recommend cycling again with my eggs when we went back in to get my stitch out. I think we are moving on from treatments and going to start pursuing a foreign adoption.

Well my first pio shot was completed last night.  I am 4 days away from my FET.  I am really excited for this one.  Well I also received a letter from my insurance company and I am not sure what this really means but it is leading me to beleive that my insurance changed and they will only cover a transfer 4 times a year or once a quarter.  I know I should not complain because my instrance covers this process, but last year there were no stipulations and I could do it as many times as I could squeeze it in... ugh...

QOTD:  I will not be watching, I dont know anything that is going on with actors and such.  But I hope everyone else enjoys it!

  • Lupron starts on Tuesday!  It is definitely weird to be excited about that, but I am!  I am hoping March flies by and I hear good news in the beginning of April.  I coach a very high level  high school girls lacrosse team and our tryouts begin Saturday, I have loaded our schedule up in March to make sure I am very distracted!!! My husband has a final SA on Monday, because he had a fever a few weeks back and that could have effect things.  I pray that we are good to go and do not have a delay from that!

QOTD: no, I don't really like award shows, so I wont watch.

  • Good luck ladies! Keep your chins up!

I'm currently sitting in the waiting room at my RE waiting for my very first ET. Oddly enough I'm not nervous. I got my freak out over with earlier this morning.

QOTD- I'll watch if nothing else looks better, but I could really care less... I agree with PP that it's just a bunch of rich & famous' patting each other on the backs. :)

FETs are so boring, I love it but I have nothing to say here. First world problems. :) I have another shot of estradiol tomorrow night, then lining check is Saturday. Hopefully my lining is thick and luxurious for a transfer next Thursday.

I'm having a ton of EWCM and had some pains on my right side last night, neither of which have ever happened to me before. For a minute I forgot myself and started excitedly thinking about having baby-making sex with my husband, haha. As if!

QOTD: award shows don't interest me, but I'll check the list of winners next week to see what I missed seeing.

  • Well, things appear to have turned out ok despite my total mess up with injections last week.  Numbers seem to be ok, and barring unexpected bleeding before Saturday, we are still going forward.  Thank God!  So, at this point we are on track for FET on Saturday.  I'm so excited, but nervous too.

PIO shots are double for the FET than they were for the fresh cycle and my butt is already hurting.  Sitting on a heating pad at work seems to be helping though!

    fingers crossed for you @PrincessPix!

@Ashris13 looks like we will be 2ww buddies!  Glad there are several of us going early in the Shamrocks.

@STBMrsMiller so sorry things did not work out.  Good luck with your next steps.

QOTD:  I will be watching because I'll be on bed rest after transfer.  I wish I'd seen more of the movies though, as I normally try to see them all.

  • Today is day 7 of stims.  My estradial level yesterday was 990, so right on target (at least that is what they told me).  I have my first U/S tomorrow (other than the baseline one), so curious to see how things are doing in there.  I would assume my ER will be early next week as I'm on the slow and steady stim plan.

QOTD - I will probably watch as we've seen a lot of the movies up for awards.

Good luck to all the other shamrocks this week/weekend :)

  • Hi ladies... just trucking along on my BCPs. I hate this time. No much is going on and I feel like I am in limbo.

QOTD I will watch the E preshow. I really just like to see what everyone is wearing. If the Kardashians (yeaaaa I said it) weren't on I would watch the show but I need to see what happened with Khloe and Lamar!
  • I'm starting the micro-dose Lupron (2Xday) on Friday and the Gonal-F and Menopur on Monday. I felt like I was given some conflicting info from my RE and the nurses about what I can expect with this cycle and there was a dosage typo on my med calendar, so I'm feeling a lot more anxious about the success of the cycle than I was just a couple of days ago. But I'm trying to get back to my normal optimism! Got a fortune cookie last night that said "You always see the optimistic side of life."

QOTD: I have a ton of stuff on the DVR to catch up on, so I doubt we'll watch the show, but I'll read the results and look at pics of the dresses the next day.

    Everyone welcome!

  • Day 10 of stims: yup I have my waddle on at this stage! Lol couldn't jump out of bed this morning, had to do more of a slide. At 9 day appointment RE told me 90% chance retrieval on Sunday so should be triggering tomorrow, will find out at my appointment in the am. My estrogen was 183 on day 5 and 387 on day 7 but with one ovary lately on strike I am hoping those numbers aren't too terrible (trying to convince myself anyway!!!) Hoping for at least as many eggs as last time (5) and please please please please universe let them not be really trashed quality due to max stims.

QOTD: never been much of a fan of the oscars but will probably have it on in the house. Now if they had Ricky Gervais presenting I'd be glued to it! Love my fellow European! :-) Recommend friending him on Facebook, he's hilarious to follow!

Hi Shamrocks!

So sorry that IVF didn't work out. :-( ***WARNING child mentioned*** my older brother is adopted, one of my aunt and uncles adopted both their kids (around my age), another aunt and uncle after 3 failed IVFs adopted both of their sons who are bio brothers from Russia (in Europe so not affected by the ban). Adoption is a truly awesome way to build a family congrats, on moving in that direction! I know there will be so many emotions to work through on that journey but hang in there! My mum was telling me she was chatting with my adopted brothers wife about if they were to have kids and would they have red hair like my mum. The bros wife was like huh? My husband doesn't have your genes? My mum thought it was hilarious, she totally had forgotten that fact. She shared the story with me to help me see that after the very painful journey of infertility that she too took that there was healing and the matter of how our family came to be really doesn't really matter. All you need is love! Hope that sharing our families experience is helpful maybe a little and not insensitive or inappropriate at this time as you process what you are going through. I know right now things suck but hang in there and be gentle with yourself. Hugs!!!

  • Not too much going on with me.  I should get a call from my RE tomorrow with the number of embryos that made it to blastocysts and freeze.  AF should show up early next week and then we can get started on the FET process.

QOTD:  I'm not really into awards shows either.  My college roommate used to love them and make a big event of it.  I haven't even seen any of the movies up for awards!  DH and I prefer to rent movies and watch them in the comfort of our own home with our own snacks.

  • Hi Shammies!

So excited to read your updates :)

I had a big win this morning - my first injection! I mean like ever of any kind! 300 IUI of Gonal F done! Now I have to face the Menopur and an additional dose of Gonal F.

A little more nervous about doing the Menopur for the first time since I have multiple vials but I watched the video and I think I'm comfortable now.

I had some nausea but it's pretty much subsided. I'm wondering though does this mean I might get increasing nausea as the stimming continues? Or was that just my body getting acclimated so now it won't be as bad?

    I know everyone's different though.

My first monitoring session will be Sunday morning.

QOTW: Nah, I won't be able to watch. I feel like I never have time for those shows even though I do kind of like them. I like to see the clothes afterwards :)

Good luck ladies wherever you're at!

  • Hi ladies! Excited to see all of the updates. Seems like things are moving right along for everyone!

I have my lining check tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed that we'll be all set and get the green light to transfer next week. Estrace is still kicking my butt, the headaches and mood swings are no fun but it could be worse :)

QOTD: I probably won't be watching either, but I'll be curious who the winners are!

  • Hi ladies. I've started testosterone patches and are continuing with my melatonin, Dexamethasone and other vitamins. I think stims are going to come around fast without the month of down regulation. I picked up my SciTropin (human growth hormone) and other refrirdgerated meds yesterday after a bit of a stressful process getting another pharmacy to agree to ship them. I've recovered fairly well from my gastro earlier in the week and am starting to look forward to this cycle :)

QOTD: I love the Oscars. I'm looking forward to Ellen as the host as other hosts can be so mean sometimes! I hate that I have to stay away from the radio and Internet on Monday as it is not shown until Monday night in Australia

  • Not much to update here. My estrace was upped to 3 x a day. A have a lining check tomorrow and will hopefully schedule transfer for the middle of next week. I will probably start PIO tomorrow too....eeekkk!
  • Hi ladies

Well..... After 7 days on estrace and daily toilet bowl sessions with my cookies being tossed.... My e2 came back today at 656! Seems super high to me considering I'm supposed to be on estrogen for 3 weeks instead of the normal 2 weeks.

Also, they started me on the injectable estrogen today because I have been so sick on the estrace pills.

My FET is officially scheduled for March 19th. I am still in serious denial over this next FET. I keep feeling like a pregnancy will never happen. I'm not even excited..... *sigh*

QOTD: I won't be watching the Oscar's. The only thing I will do is check the results out on Monday.

  • Good Evening Shamrocks,

Not much different to report than yesterday.  Tonight is my last BCP (YAY!) - I did go in today for baseline however, and my nurse called this afternoon and said everything is 'beautiful', I am fully suppressed, my bloodwork came back great, I am consistently losing weight, and my vitals look awesome -- they had tested me a few days ago for Vitamin D, and that is low so I have been upped to 2000 ius a day (yikes).. but overall we are ready to stim.  I am waiting for my little mini period and I go full steam ahead with Follistim and Menopur on Tuesday March 4th and my first monitoring appt is Saturday the 8th - as of right now i am still on track for egg retrieval on March 15th.  Excited and Nervous all together!!

QOTW - I do love Award shows but mostly for the dresses... this year I am most excited to see Indina perform Let It Go from Frozen live.. I am a Disney freak FYI. :)

    Have a great week, ladies!!

Hi Shamrocks!
Hugs!!!
ETA: The Bump ate my response.

This is exactly what I need to hear right now, not insensitive or inappropriate at all - thank you!

@jaztaz1 and @O2girl We aren't sure that DE are the best option for us.  Several hurdles - anonymous donation isn't legal in the state of South Dakota, we also have MFI, we're 100% OOP.  Even though I hate to put it like this, DH and I think adoption of a child is a better investment.  We're still open to DE, but we want to educate ourselves more about the adoption process.

  • So I guess I'm cautiously jumping in here! I am on BCP for IVF#1, and if all goes as planned we will be doing our ER this month, not sure in the date yet. I have my sonohystogram this week, and hopefully will be a go ahead to start lupron with a few days of BCPs, and then wait for AF. The calendar is a little overwhelming, but I'm thankful that I jumped the hurdle of giving myself shots last cycle. Thanks for having me!

@jaztaz1 Congratulation on so many perfect embroyos. What a relief!
    @STBMrsMiller I am sorry to hear you are a cancel/delay :(
@Praying4Miracle17 I am on day 7 stims too. But my estradial is only 420 luckily it jumped up from 120 on Tuesday. FX for you.
@anitaflora I just felt nauseated the first day of Follistim.

    Update: IVF#1 with ICSI
Day 7 of stims, I had my menopur increased to 150 after my appointment on Tuesday because my e2 levels were lower than expected. At my ultrasound today, I had 5 follicles on 1 side and 8 on the other side all 10-12mm (up from 7-9mm on Tuesday). Tomorrow I start Ganrelix...
My next monitoring is Saturday and will possibly trigger Monday. Acupuncture tomorrow and Monday.

I wont be watching the awards because I'll be celebrating my birthday!

Hi everyone..I am back after an unsuccessful November 2013 ivf...I was extremely heart broken and angry for a while. I just had such high hopes that it would happen :(. I finally came out from under that sad cloud and decided I would not give up and try it again. I am extremely terrified and will try to be positive after feeling so bad the past few months. My doctor had nothing different to offer me as far as advice concerning what he thought went wrong the last time. Anyways, I take my last BC pill on March 2nd. I started Lupron yesterday..all the way until March 20 which seems a long time to me. I start Estrace on the 7th..my FET is set for the 26th of March if my lovely uterus and hormones cooperate. Glad to join the "Shimmering Shamrocks"!!

QOTW: I don't usually watch the award shows not a huge fan..so no plans there. I just usually skip around to other channels to see what else is on.
  • Hi ladies!  Can I join you?  I can't believe all this has happened so fast following our fail at IVF/ICSI/PGS in January but I'm happy to say that I mailed our consents today and it also turned out to be CD1 so I started meds for our FET!  I'll have an u/s on CD13 and if my lining looks good, we'll travel to Florida to meet our little snowflakes :)

QOTW:  I am not planning on watching the awards, I don't think I ever had.  Maybe growing up but not for quite some time.  We actually don't have cable.  We cancelled it over two years ago.  We've saved well over $2,000 just in cable bills and we are pretty happy just watching movies here and there.  I've found I get a lot more accomplished when I don't have cable too!

  • Super late to check in but I've been so bummed the last few days. Had my first monitoring appt about 2 days ago and only had 4 follies. My lining was thin and estrogen level really low (35). Checked again today (day 8) and still 4 that are growing, lining has tripled in thickness and estrogen level up to 275. So, I don't know what to think... I'll be increasing my menopur to 3 vials and still the 300cc follistim. I just keep telling myself, all we need is one!!! >:D<
