Haha well I love Jaeger....that's my UO. I don't drink it casually though, I drink it to get drunk...does that make it any better? haha I also like Captain Morgan better than "fancy" rums...am I just a cheap date?

^agreed. This "war on religion" is going to end up a self fulfilling prophecy. Also, nobody over college age has any business drinking Jaegermeister. Very regrettable things can and will happen.
YES, no Jaegermeister after college! LOL Though I have found that top shelf, REAL tequila is really amazing and nothing like the stuff that messes with everyone's head in college.
I'm really confused, what's wrong with Jaegermeister? Seeing as I've only been out of college since I've been pregnant I'm not guilty of this, but my work buddy and I would drink Jaeger bombs all the time when we went out! Did I miss something?
hehe. In my opinion, there is MUCH better stuff to drink out there. Plus, it can turn some people in to monsters for some reason.
Yes, it's why strip clubs and prostitutes stay in business, why many people call in sick for work, frat boys fall out windows, and how hospitals stay busy on the weekends.
I was going to come on here and say I also don't get the big deal about Nutella, it's only ok (yes, you all can have my portion). And I'm with @aprilmay09 as far as your kid being alive doesn't make it safe. My parents rolled around in the car with my brother in their lap in the front seat. That's called lucky that he's alive, not safe. And they didn't have the research to know any better, we do.
But, someone brought up vaccines so this shit's about to go in a whole other direction anyway lol.
I don't plan to vaccinate my child or myself with things I find to be completely ridiculous and unnecessary. And I really hate pushy doctors who, when I say this to them, just look at me like I'm simple, smile, and say "Why don't you do some research, and we'll talk about it next time?". BITCH, I already researched it. But sure, I'll research it again, and show you the medical papers that discredit you.

Must not have! What makes it worse was that my old work family still drank like they were in college, farm life what what! So I'm under the impression I will never have to grow up! The first time I go out to drink with the girls after this baby, I know I am going to have a problem because I'm going to drink like I did when my tolerance was top notch...ugh gonna have to learn!
Why do my boobs look so good? Then I peed on a stick...
My husband went out with some partners from his firm one night and they talked him into doing shots of Jeager. Several hours and $900 later, he wakes up in a champagne room at a strip club.

And not be allowed to travel, anywhere. We're still pertussis free up here. STAY AWAY!
I posted this in the thread the other day about using dreft-- I think it's absolutely ridiculous to waste time and money to purchase
special detergent just for your baby's clothes unless it's been tried
and proven that your regular detergent gives baby a rash. It's the same
as only ever using Anti-itch baby lotion based on the chance that your
baby MIGHT have itchy skin, or never feeding your baby peas on the
chance they might not like them.

What medical papers discredit your doctor? What makes you know more than someone who spent years in school, residency, and practice.
There have been a couple cases of measles in MA that have been in the news lately. Right now I'm glad I was vaxd against mmr because it can be very dangerous to a pregnant woman.
Lots of diseases vaccines protect against won't kill you and a healthy adult would probably spend a couple weeks miserable and eventually recover. But vaccination isn't about YOU. It's about the community at large and protecting those such as infants, the elderly, and persons with compromised immune systems or those with allergies who cannot get vaccines.
Your whole tone of your post makes you sound really uneducated.
But she said 'BITCH', obviously she knows what she's talking about, what with all that confidence and sass.
I *really* hope she shares the "medical" papers. We haven't had a crazy UO in awhile.

I want to reply, but the fact that there are no "love its" says enough.
Don't come around my child, or any child that cannot physically receive vaccinations due to medical conditions. I hope you don't give them the disease that could kill them because you "researched it" and decided you know enough.
In regards to the resident/attending issue, I find it very bizarre that an attending never followed up at any point during the ER visits or hospitalization. I see residents for my primary care, in the ER, eye dr. etc and every single time, without fail, an attending followed up after I spoke with the resident regarding my care plan. Then again, different hospitals, different protocols?

Is this serious? Why would you bring your child to a dr you can "discredit" with your "research"? Ugh it's too Early for this.

All NBs have highly porous skin -- that's why we're supposed to steer clear of things like bug spray and sunscreen for the first 6 mo of their lives. I don't think it's ridiculous to believe a bunch of dyes and perfumes might not be the best thing for them, even if they don't necessarily break out in a rash. Hell, having a bunch of dyes and perfumes constantly in contact with adult skin isn't the healthiest. Most parents I know who go a free & clear (or all natural) route do so for the entire family, not just the baby.
"Red Velvet" is not a flavor. Iseeking advice and aust a ridiculous amount of unnecessary food coloring.
Pie is far superior to cake.
Mmmmm technically no, the red is just from food coloring but it is a specific cake (chocolate diluted with the food coloring and unlike other chocolate cakes uses buttermilk) and frosting(traditionally a sweetend roux but now you usually find cream cheese) combination. So in my book it is a flavor.
@MamaFantastic I see what you're sayingbut there is a difference between seeking advice/asking to be accepted into a family and asking permission like your daughter can't make her own choices.

I watched Jersey Shore almost religiously. I don't know why, I couldn't stop, I loved how trashy it was! And it was a fun pregame to going out Thursday nights (In college, with Jaeger ;])

Yeah, if you've ever actually made a red velvet cake from scratch, it's an entirely different recipe than regular chocolate cake. And I think it is deeeeeeeelicious!
I hate it when people turn the AC on the fullest blue or red in a car. I can understand doing it for like 10 seconds on full blast to cool off/warm up the car, but after that, adjust it to a comfortable temperature that you don't have to keep fiddling with. It seems like almost everyone person I've rode with does this. It's like hello, don't you know there's more than two settings!?
I do this and annoy myself! I'm constantly messing with it turning it on and off. Why I don't just set it is beyond me.

One of the positives here in Canada dani+california is that to go to school they have to be vaccinated so at least we can be reasonably sure that all the kids in the class have been vaccinated. I'm not sure that all the vaccines are mandatory though.

I'm a bored as hell lurker waiting for baby to show up, but you're right. The poster having trouble with her hospital is not getting proper care. This isn't a hospital to hospital procedure. If a med student or intern sees you, they are supposed to present the case to the attending. Med students and residents can't make medical decisions on their own, it all has to be approved. My husband is currently an intern and has had to wait to do tests because the attending was busy and couldn't sign off yet.
That's a nation wide thing. A few years into residency and they usually have more experience and power, but if they're as inept as the PP describes they should be supervised. As the wife of a resident, I appreciate that PP wants to give them a chance to learn. But not at the expense of her health... And if they're messing up, they're not learning.
She needs to see the attending. She may need to insist a bit (some attendings are busy and some are just dicks who use their students and residents to avoid seeing patients, but let the residents get yelled at and make the attending see you), but it needs to be done.
I mentioned this in a vax specific thread, but my tolerance for non-vaccinating parents went out the window when one of the fully vaccinated kids at DD's school came down with measles. They have kids down to 6w, and you don't get the full vaccination until 4yo. Fortunately dd was only 1 shot short of fully vaccinated (she got the 4yo dose early after this scare), but come on people. Herd immunity is there for the ones where the vax isn't effective, or isn't medically advised, not because you think you're special.

Good to know. I'm in Ontario too and was looking at schools for DS and the way the registering information is presented they make it sound like the kids need all the vaccines. I wish the list was longer though because there are a lot of other vaccines that all kids should be getting.

I can't stand it when people ask me if I have been having any cravings. It makes me feel like a science experiment or something. If they're going to ask, they ought to also offer to provide me with the things I'm "craving", which in that case would be snow crab legs, steak, key lime pie, and $100 bills.
