Thanks guys. It really was minor. Idiot kid (like 18-20ish) didn't look before changing lanes and surprise, there I was. I'm actually surprised I'm sore at all, there is pretty minimal damage to my car. Doc told me to use a heating pad on my back. Greeeeeeat thanks. I miss advil!
10 years working in this city, and this is my 3rd accident where either someone changed lanes into me (2×) or ran into me while I was stopped at a light. I hate city driving so much.

Glad to hear you are okay (soreness aside). City driving is the worst. Take it easy and get lots of rest.
You know what, f it. I need more hugs, so I'm reposting this from bitchfest:
Sad. My kitty cat is sick. She lives in the city with the in laws while we are looking for a house, and she started panting and drooling so DH (who is visiting) took her to the vet. Apparently she has a bad ticker and 6-12 months left, with heart meds. Wishing I could be with her!

Last night I tried to google "how many babies are born early" because I happened to be browsing the March 2014 board and it was crazy how many babies had already been born. And two of the top results were "how many babies are born with teeth" and "how many babies are born with tails" :-O
(Wrong thread!)

Awww, huge hugs to you. I had no idea how common bad hearts seem to be in cats. I don't want to depress you and you seem to know how things will go with your kitty, but we have had two cats with aggressive heart disease. Our first cat showed signs earlier so we were able to get him meds and spend several more months with him. Our second cat with the condition didn't show any signs until it really was just too late.
We love them while they're here and that's the best we can do.
So this is a stupid bitch, but I am sick and tired of family telling me how much they hate all of my potential name choices for a potential second DD. This wasn't an issue with DD #1, but for some reason everybody is really vocal this time around. I know I know, "this is why you don't tell people your names", but based on my experience with DD, I had no reason to think they would all flip like this.
I have just told them that we aren't discussing it anymore and that they will always look stupid for saying how much they hated a name that a potential second DD could end up with. Ugh, just driving me up the wall.
What kills me is that the majority of their "suggestions" are like Crystal, Tiffany, Samantha, Hazel. My go to reply for those are - the 1980s called and want their baby name books back.

@JP27 Lots of vomiting of everything - the inability to keep water down, general lack of appetite, lethargy. He just really seemed out of it. At the vet he had a lower than average temp. An x-ray showed some fluids in his chest, but we started the meds and that helped control and minimize the fluid build-up. That was in December
By mid-February, his heart condition was overriding the medicine and he was filling with fluid to the extent that it was noticeable by just looking at him. With Jasper, we probably waited too long to do what we should have just done in the first place, but at the time we really thought we were doing all of this to help him when we were probably just not ready to say goodbye to him ourselves.
I'm already in love with being Team Green because people are giving me all their theories on what it is based on how I look, how I answer their questions, old wives tales and more. Team Green is FUN!

Thanks for the info. I'm sorry to hear about your kitties hearts too.
I never expected belly button pain...I mean wtf? ligament pain - all set for....to have the inner side of belly button hurt with these sharp pains - did not see coming....I mean is LO just practicing aim with this little feet or is my belly button unraveling from the inside!!!
Oh and slight confession: I went to bulk barn yesterday....bought everything delicious and put it ALL into a simple cookie dough recipe I have. Best idea I have EVER had :-) Chocolate - peanut butter - caramel chunk cookies with pretzels :-)

ARGH!
Had this issue with my father. He's bi-racial (Black and White), I'm Black, White and Hispanic. My husband is Black. My father has it in his head that the word exotic is a compliment when it's actually viewed as an insult to most minorities and especially mixed women. He was shooting down all of our name choices saying they weren't exotic enough and that the way his grandbaby was going to be mixed, he/she would be exotic looking. I finally snapped and told him that his grandchild wasn't going to be a parrot or coffee or anything else that was appropriate to describe as exotic. That being said my son's name will be Robert Clayton and anyone who doesn't like it can go shove it. My husband and I have ethnic names (Shanice and Teron) and it's really no walk in the park when job hunting despite them not being "ghetto."
That was a long way of saying, I know what you're going through and it sucks and I wish you could shin kick them all!
I had no idea exotic was viewed negatively. My apologies, I'll definitely think twice before ever using it again.

Just because I think she's pretty damn cute and I want to be a little bit of an AW, here is DD ready for wacky hair day at school this morning.
Carry on then.
Also, Salsa I am sorry to hear about your car accident! Scary, but I am glad you are not hurt! I'm also sorry for everyone's sick kitties! We lost our cat lucky almost a year ago and I still miss her!
Thanks for the hugs guys. She made it through the night and is out of heart failure. She started eating again and she can go home today, but needs a follow up with a cardiologist to rule out thyroid disease.
I know it's a part of life, but I've never had a pet die on me before; they all just ran away so I could pretend they found a happier place to be.
*steps off soapbox* lol. But thank you for being open to not using the term in the future!
Just to chime in.... I am mixed black and white and have never considered it to be an insult to be considered exotic. I like being special Not that there is really anything so special about it anymore.

Plus, ouch, expensive. Love that kitty though!
Glad she is doing better now. I am not a cat person but last year when we lost my cat I was a wreck.
@shanicenicole...you know that when a non-minority uses the word "exotic" they almost always intend it as a compliment, right? And personally, usually with a hint of jealousy. That being said, I didn't know how it was received either and will try to remember not to say it in the future.
I'm reading the Nov '13 vs Nov '14 thread on N14. Since I'm late in July did we have the pleasure of July '13 coming here to tell us how to survive on The Bump when y'all started getting your BFPs? lol
I think one or two of them came and gave us well wishes. It was nothing like the November thread. Some of the Nov 14 girls way overreacted to normal TB stuff. *sigh* newbs
I'm July 11, can I start lecturing you guys about the next 2.5 years of your lives? does that count?

I think I might have made a baby shower faux pas. My sisters are planning one for me and I was like, "Great! I'll bring the cupcakes!" There's a very specific cupcake from a very specific store that I am obsessed with right now and I can't imagine having a baby shower without them. I did tell them that I'd order them, buy them and bring them, but maybe I should have just let them do their thing.
Meh let them know you didn't mean to over step, but that you are quite excited to share these cupcakes at the shower.
I am being told by my organizers that apparently the point is to give me what I want so I need to speak up more!

My friends are opposite here. They all laugh about me being a very "detail oriented" planning person, so they love doing surprises where I'm not allowed to know anything. They did this for my bridal shower (I was allowed to know the date and town), and now for my baby shower, a different friend is doing the same thing. She was trying to figure out whether not knowing the date is correct etiquette (according to the book she read, it's not), so I do know that part, and am sending her the list of invitees, and that's it.
Finally got my A/S booked! March 10th!! Man I hate being at the end of the month. We reach all the milestones last. Meanwhile everyone else is moved on!

Re: Random thread- for all things random.
No worries! I just rips open on it's own. But in the event that it doesn't know to do so itself, the dr will be sure to cut it.
Glad to hear you are okay (soreness aside). City driving is the worst. Take it easy and get lots of rest.
