Monday bitchfest

It's early, but what the hell?

All 4 of my kids are sick and I'm getting sick, too.

The baby is up and fussy.

Owen just pooped on the bathroom floor.

Liam just puked in my bed.

Mr. Vals is shitfaced and being a total tool.

And apparently I was up for the day at 3:30.

I will not kick my SO out today. I will not kick my SO out today. I will not kick my SO out today....

  • @maryannespier Wyatt hardly ever wears a hat now, because he is a Houdini at getting it off within second of us putting it on. I have gotten the side eye from people, but it's useless to try. He won't keep the blanket over him either, he has to have his hands out. And I've tried socks on his hands, they are also off within seconds.

  • Docs sent us to the ER yesterday. Lo has bronchilitis that hit him all of a sudden really hard plus a stupid yeast infection. The good news is he is one of the small percent that responds to an inhaler. Also the boys woke up for the day at 4am. Time to go to work!

Two nights ago, I don't know what Bs issue was but he was just screaming and sobbing and flailing. I have bruises on my arms from his helmet. I'm sorry your LO is socking you.

  • I have been up since 6 am yesterday with no coffee. After work I have to go to my parents nurse Wyatt, then take Lily to 3K, sleep for a 4-5 hours, then pick Lily up, go back to my parents, hopefully nurse Wyatt, and then go back to work. I'm so tired. I'm trying to do my sociology homework but it's putting me to sleep.

I have nothing to bitch about right now, but this might change during the day as I woke up crankilicious.

  • MIL was over for the weekend to watch George as our babysitter is gone on a cruise.MIL hasn't seen lo since Christmas. While I was at work she started crying to DH about how she misses all of us. He said she and FIL should come out once a month on a Thursday to have dinner. Thurdday is the one day DH and I have off together. MIL tookit as every Thursday. Every.Thursday.of.every.week. WTF I told DH he needs to fix that because although MIL isn't horrible, she can be annoying and I'm not giving up the one day I have with my huaband up. Grrr

  • Oh yeah, one more.

So yesterday when we were out DH was telling me a story about his coworker.  He was driving along and saw a mom pushing a stroller with a (maybe six month old?) baby.  It was cold out but the baby wasn't wearing a hat.  Co-worker pulled over, chastised the mom for not putting a hat on the baby, and took off his own hat and put it on the kid.

I was like..."What?!  Who the hell does that?"  DH said "but the baby was probably cold!" And I said "You have no idea what was going on with that mom or that baby in that particular situation, plus ew to someone else putting their gross hat on your baby."  DH was not convinced.

Anyway, ten minutes later we left the froyo place.  It was a little chilly so G was bundled up in mittens and a hat.  Thirty seconds after going outside he had pulled off both mittens twice and was working on taking off his hat.  I turned to DH and said, "So how would you feel if someone came up to you right now and yelled at you because your kid isn't wearing mittens?"

"Oh, yeah, I guess," he said.

    Point for me.
I would lose my sh!t if someone tried that with P.  He HATES hats.  Literally hates them.  If we try to put one on him, he will cry, scream, and shake his head back and forth to try to get it off.  It's not worth it, so we just make sure we put his hood up on his coat.  Hoods are apparently just fine.
  • @maryannespiers I have to babyproof all my cupboards today because of the dog. The hinges all need replacing and her big blonde nose can't keep her out. She has never had human food and I don't want her to start now.

I hope everyone's sickies feel better soon!
  • I woke up nauseated and sweating. Not KU. Took Zofran. Went back to sleep. Woke up again...AF. Totally not predictable since she came back last month. I am so effing tired. V's croup is seeming to get better but he coughed so hard this morning he puked all over me :(
I want a vacation now. Not getting one until maybe June :( WTH?

Sooo...need to be productive today. But it's not looking good. V has flu booster today. Hope that isn't a rough one.

Wishing great days to everyone and kids that are not sick.

  • Eli is sick. Ugh! !! First it was dd2 for five days, then dd1 for five days. We had a few good days of everyone feeling ok but nite Eli is sick and it just sucks! I can't keep missing work but I can't bring him to daycare like this. I hate tryinteething and stuffy heads. He can hardly breathe he's so stuffed up abd is getting at least 3 new teeth.

Sorry everyone else is off to a rough start to their Mondays too. Hope this week flies by!

  • Sick today. I've been mildly sick for three or four days, but it has hit full force now. Chills and aches in the night. I'm currently up at 4:00am with the sweats.

Because DH was out all night monitoring roads the other night, I took the kids out of the house to let him sleep (even though I was sick).  I have my doubts that he's going to stay home today so I can rest and get better. The default response is 'take them to your parents' house. Yeah. I still have to look after them when I'm there.

He better choose family over work today or he'll be in a lot of trouble.....

Oh no! Yeah I'm constantly bruised. My little guy does it just from trying to snuggle. My collar bone has had a bruise for months where he presses the edge into it when he falls asleep.
Those times he's really upset and flailing I just take the helmet off. We're super strict about the 23 hours a day most of the time. But there have been moments where taking it off gave him enough relief to settle down. Especially nights a tooth was coming in--I think the helmet and the tooth combo gives him a headache. The orthotist said it's perfectly okay and normal to take it off in those dire moments.

  • I had the day off today after working Saturday. After dropping Allison off at daycare I went to the drugstore to pick up my bc prescription. Not there, doctor has to reauthorize it.

My fear is that she won't reauthorize it and want me to come back into the office. Which would be fine if they took my new insurance so I will then have to find a new doctor sooner then I wanted too.

Now instead of cleaning (one fun adult chore) on my day off I will be trying to find a new OBGYN (another fun adult chore).

  • My throat hurts.  I am pretty sure I'm getting sick.  DH said he felt like he was also getting sick.  I hope DD doesn't get it.

DD was also awake to eat 5 times last night.  So tired. . . I-)

  • LO was up every hour last night. Every. Hour. To. Nurse. If I moved him out of my arms he screamed. If I had to get up to see DD he screamed. DD is sick today at least I didn't have to get out and take her to school. Family cuddle time for naps!
All my sympathies. We had that problem a couple of weeks ago. Eating constantly for 48 hrs! Hopefully yours doesn't last that long!
    Enjoy your cuddles!

  • Apparently we must have the tv cranked to full volume at 630 am. It's so loud and fucking annoying.... I can't wait for dh to go to work. Also I'm cranky, have af and my feelings are all over the place. I'm like an emotional disaster.... No good self, no good.

That's good to know. It was only his third night in it and I really didnt want him learning that we would take it off if he cried. But I also felt so bad. And it was hurting me too.

  • On the way out the door to go to storytime, I can't find my keys. I call DH and before he says hello, he says, "Looking for your keys?"
I left them in his car yesterday.
Storytime at home today, NBD, but I really needed to go to the grocery.

  • G was up like 100 times tonight, he is teething and suffering so much since 2 days ago. I'd give anything to take away his discomfort (except rubbing tequila in his gums as my grandma suggested  [-X )
Your grandma is wrong. My grandma says whiskey.
LOL! My grandma is Mexican hence the Tequila haha apparently they use grappa in Italy and so on ;)

We thought LO had an ear infection brought him in on Sunday, doctor couldn't get a good look but gave him an antibiotic anyway. I am not giving it to him as he seemed fine all day Sunday and today. I am a bit bothered that the doctor didn't try a little harder before just writing a prescription. I am so hesitant about just giving him an antibiotic since last time he was on one he had diahrea and was even more miserable. Whatever. I am chalking it up to teething again, the drool is running out of his mouth like a faucet. Hopefully they pop through soon cause sleep in this house has been pretty bad.
@fieldpetal & @mrads - A couple times B has been really fussy I took the helmet off and he fell asleep immediately.  Its crazy cause he was asleep so good that I was able to put the helmet right back on without him waking up. I think his head gets hot sometimes.

  • I hope everyone starts feeling better soon!

My bitchfest: My coworker is anit-kids for herself. I'm totally cool with that, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But I'm seriously over the silent digs because I chose to have a child.

    Example:

    Coworker "How was your weekend?"

Me: "Good but a little tired."

Coworker: "O well that was your choice."

Hello I'm not always tired because B didn't sleep. As a matter of fact, she slept 10 solid hours last night. I, on the other hand, did not!

Ugh I'm so sick of the snark. I don't poke you because you don't want kids so don't poke me because I chose differently.

    Winey, bitchfest over ;)

  • @emmb72713 your LO is so cute in your siggy!  What great pictures :)

  • I really don't want to go to work

And I wish DH would stop attempting to do laundry because he forgets to move to the dryer EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I'd rather have something I need be dirty than discover its been in the washing machine for 48 hours

This morning it was the shower curtain

    Grumble grumble

Me and your DH are samesies. I realized this am that all the stuff I threw in and started Saturday night was there in the washer this am. Womp...Womp.
