  Nope, this hasn't happened to me yet, but I wouldn't worry. Our doula told us this can happen early, but in most cases, will regenerate to keep baby safe.

  I lost mine at 36 weeks and had the baby 8 hours later!

  I missed some big signs though - mine was HUGE and blood streaked.  

  Period like cramps started seconds later.  And never stopped.  Even with this I didn't realize I was in labor for hours.

  
  

  It's a lot earlier for you so doubt you are in labor, as long as you have no other symptoms of labor!

  8 hours later for me, but that was 38 weeks. It isn't always indicative of labor and can apparently regenerate. You'll only find out if you do go into labor.   I lost my muscus plug at 4 months with my last baby and went into preterm labor right after, thankfully they where able to stop labor and keep me pregnant until about 34 weeks. She's a healthy 11yr old. For some labor happens shortly after especially if cramping starts. Good luck

  it's well within the range of a normal time to lose your MP.

  it doesn't necessarily mean your birth is imminent, especially since you have 7 weeks to go still.

  it can and probably will regenerate.

  
  

  all that said, i lost mine hours into real labor at 40 weeks along, and baby was born at the end of that labor process.

  Sorry for being so gross ladies. I was grossed out myself. I did call the doctor and she told me not to worry. It doesn't mean I will actually go into labor. It's just my bodies way of preparing. I may or may not go...no one really knows. As for taking a picture I honestly have no interest in seeing it again. And what I described to the doc she said it definitely was just that.
  It's just a different ball game when it happens to you then when you just hear about it.

  Why is everyone so up in arms about this question??? It is valid and can very well mean labor. Everyone needs to relax today.

  Those who have been part of another BMB and/or who have heeded the warnings of moms who have gone before us realize this is the first of about 79 mucus plug posts that will come over the next 3 months (and mark my words... some will be far less tasteful and far more, um, ..visual?.. than this benign one was!)
  
  It's much less of an eye roll at Grace herself, and much more a great big "ohhhhh boy, here comes the MP deluge" reaction.

  This. Plus the whole "ZOMG AM I THE ONLY ONE IN THE HISTORY OF EVAR?!?!" questions that come with them.   Uh, swearing throughout your post is much more "feisty" than what OP received. It's just the first of many. It's like "Am I pregnant?" "Is this movement?" "Am I in labor?" Questions. All very repetitive, but questions none of us internet strangers can answer. Calm down.

  Well I felt bad for OP. When I lost my mucus plug I went into labor the next day- I totally get where she is coming from. Especially being a FTM. I get people aren't excited about repetitive mucus plug posts but a lot of posts are repetitive here- it comes with the territory of being on a pregnancy forum. there are a bunch of pregnant women going through the same stage- I didn't see the big deal with her posting this.   OP - it could be weeks before you go into labor. Or it could happen soon. None of us know. Be sure to pay close attention to your body. And go with your gut. If you dont feel right call your doc or go to L&D. I personally dont care if the nurses look at me like I am crazy, its your body and only you can tell when it doesnt feel right.

  Good luck and I hope baby stay snuggled inside you for at least another 7 weeks ;-)

  Ladies I don't get to go on The Bump daily and as a teacher I'm home on winter break when this happened so just like everyone else I had a question/incident where I thought it would be ok to post. I haven't seen anything on a MP before so I apologize if this has been asked/posted before. I don't have sisters and my mom had children years ago and it never happened to her. So forgive me for asking what seemed like an inappropriate question. For those who are more understanding thank you.

  Grace, you did nothing wrong. You were actually the first one on our board to ask this. (Unless I missed one somewhere.) As many have said, the tongue-in-cheek responses really weren't to you, they were more in jest with each other that we should be prepared for many, many more of these posts to come. As I said, you're the first, so we're not sick of them yet.
  
  To everyone who is all white knighting and all "what's the big deal?" : people can post whatever they want. This is a forum, and we get that. As more and more people post these kinds of topics, though, posters should expect to get snark, gifs, sarcasm, etc. especially if they post when we've got several of the same kinds of posts on the first three pages. You are all correct, OP's post isn't a big deal.   Please no picture, it will not go well with my B&J's heath bar ice cream, and I will be pissed if I don't get to enjoy it.

  She asked a question because she was concerned. She wasn't just posting all "hey guys, lost my mucus plug today, what's new with you?". And I guarantee there will be a LOT of those posts in the next 12 weeks.
