No one here is going to have your exact experience dear.  60lbs in 35 weeks is a lot of weight to gain.  Your doctor is correct on that statement.  There are women who have gained more, and those who have gained less!  Some women who've gained less have bigger babies and some women who have gained more have smaller babies!  Mother nature just doesn't follow rules!  We are just "averages" and our doctors follow what is "expected" knowing that there are many deviations from the expected.  Really what you should be latching on to is asking your doctor for a) tips on how to eat well and not continue gaining too much more weight, b) a repeat glucose tolerance screening to make sure you have not developed late onset gestational diabetes, and c) a repeat ultrasound to get an actual measurement of your baby's POTENTIAL weight, knowing that this measurement may be a "give or take 1 full pound".
Sure, there probably are other women here who have delivered vaginally after a significant amount of weight gain.  I have been to several of those deliveries.  All I can say is:  Make sure your support team is ready to help you hold your legs up, start doing some squats to strengthen your legs and ask your doctor about what a c-section would be like SHOULD you need one!
But don't latch one to someone's experience because you will set yourself up for disappointment when something completely different happens for you!

    P.S: aWelcome to March 2014!

All of this. I've only gained 6lbs but my OBs (group practice) are still saying baby is going to be big and I might need to be induced early or a c-section. I haven't asked a lot of questions yet but plan to at my appt this week since I don't want either. You need to ask more questions to your doc.

  • Wow... OP... I was actually considering linking you to a helpful website, but after reading YOUR rude responses, I'm not...
(And, ooh! I'd love to lose my "flaginity" too! ;-) )

  • Aww, I lost my flaginity...it was somewhat anticlimactic.
My first flag was a bit of a disappointment too.... it was from the crazy lady who couldn't speak English.... ah well
  • Thank you, OP, for taking my flaginity!

  • Holy shit! I held back for once and was remotely tame, and I got a flag.

Oh, I'm milking this now. Gonna give FBW a run for her money.

The Julia Roberts gif may be my favorite one so far.... lol
  • Lol I'm still here. It's funny how you all are giving my post so much attention. Stop wasting your time on my post. Hahaha

  • I've only gained 5 lbs this whole pregnancy and LO is measuring three weeks ahead. So your weight really doesn't have much to do with it. Baby will grow how it wants.

Also, none of these responses have been rude. Grow a set and get over it! You're on a public forum and there have been plenty of similar posts. If you were on here more often, you'd see that. Think before you post or you're opening yourself to ridicule and "rude" responses.

LOL apparently telling her to "grow up" is considered abuse.

    I was thinking this exactly.

Oh, thanks for the flag OP. I'll cherish it always.
  • Actually I'm not. But I just ignored you so your gone! BYE GIRL!

  • I've only gained 15 and my baby is measuring 7 lbs+ at 37 wks. Every woman is different, every baby is different, and every pregnancy is different. Asking for someone to tell you some magical rainbow story of how they gained an enormous amount of weight and still delivered naturally is not going to make it come true for you.
  • FYI I don't deal with foolishness so therefore all of you are ignored. You are now talking amongst yourselves. I cannot see what you are saying please stop wasting your energy on little ole me. You don't know me so I suggest you quit talking like you do.

Ignoring us requires that you actually leave and stop replying. Try that.

  • Thanks for the feedback. I wasn't expecting to have the same results as someone else just wanted others "feedback on their experience" I think that's pretty normal. Have a good day!

You do realize that without a tag or a quote it just looks like you're muttering to yourself in the corner, right?

  • I gained so far 60 pounds and I'm already in my 35th week. I still have time to go, however my Doctor has been scaring me saying she is worried my baby may be too big and there's a chance I may have to get a C-Section. I really rather not and want to deliver vaginally. Anyone else experiencing this?? Feedback please.

Isn't there a test for this? Called an ultrasound? You know, to get an estimate on how big baby is?

I usually bite my tongue when I get annoyed at this forum but I can't take it anymore. There are so many cyber bully's on here it's disgusting. We are all going to be mothers in a few weeks, some on here already are, can't we be more supportive when people have questions? Didn't your mother teach you that if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything? I work in a middle school and we are constantly teaching our students to be kind and considerate of other peoples feelings. Has anyone else read about all of the suicides and self esteem issues due to what people have said to them on the internet. Yes, I understand it's a public forum but that doesn't mean you should belittle someone for asking a question. That person is looking for support not to feel worse about what is going on in her life. Let's support each other not break one another down. Treat others the way you would want someone to treat you.

I like to try to answer questions nicely. I'm not very good at snark unless its vocal. BUT I have a limit to what I can handle. I will not call anyone stupid or their question stupid but I will say some people aren't too bright if they come here with important things before calling their doctor.

I have dumb questions all the time. So if its urgent I called the doctor if not I googled. It's that simple. I don't appreciate bullying but everyone I've encountered on here has been helpful and kind. And everyone will be that way as long as you follow the correct steps before asking a question. Because chances are you can find the answers on your own from a much more reliable source.

I've been on other BMBs that are way more bully than snark. People here support each other. But its a two way street. You can't just jump in and expect all kinds of support if you aren't going to offer any in return. That's not what we're here for.
  • Believe me I know I can close a web browser and I usually do. It just seems that people on here get a kick out of putting others down and making them feel bad about asking a question. If you cant respond nicely then just take your own advise and close your browser. Why insult someone? Is that the example you want to set for your child?
  • And btw you don't have to tell someone to kill themselves to be considered a bully. If you're putting someone else down to make yourself feel better or to impress others then you're a bully.
