Re: work

  • I'm going to go as long as I can. April is a busy month for me at work and I'd like to do as much as I can that month and not leave it for my coworkers. Plus, I want more time at home on the other side. We'll see. So far, I've been doing fine at work. My job is very sedentary.

@tjkdlhb-That sounds like something I would try to pull off, but I definitely don't want to.

Also, I can guarantee that my dreams tonight will be about this. Great. I hope I'm wearing dark pants and a long sweater so I can keep some of my dignity.

    Edited because tagging.
  • I hope to work until the baby comes. My due date is May 27, and right now my tentative last day of work is the Friday before. I'm a curriculum supervisor in a school district and I need to complete end of the year paperwork for my staff before I leave. I'll be spending most of the month of May at my desk... So I should be okay barring any medical complications. I also only have 38 sick days accrued right now, so I really don't want to use any before LO comes if I don't have to.

  • My maternity leave runs right into summer vacation.  So I started from the last day of school, counted backwards and figured out the earliest day I could leave which is May 1.  My due date is May 10.  Cutting it close.
  • I plan on trying to work until I go into labor. We can't really afford for me to take much time off. Even though I might work from home for a while before.
  • I'm going to try to work until she comes. I have my own business, so it's easy to dictate when I get to take time off and stuff. It sucks that, due to it being a print design business, the amount money I make is dependent on me working and fulfilling client's orders. So no work, no pay. Good lord, I need to hire another designer or something!
  • I work a desk job and drive to work, so I'm planning to stay until 37 weeks. I have 2 weeks paid vacation, then my mat leave will start at 39 weeks. I'm a retail buyer and I'll be stopping my visits to suppliers from the end of march.

  • I am so checked out at work. I teach kindergarten and am exhausted. I would love to go out at 38 or 39 weeks. The problem with that is DD didn't come until 42 weeks. There's no reason to sit at home for a month. I'd love for my OB to tell me at some point down the line that I shouldn't go back to work. That way I don't feel guilty because I HAVE to follow dr's orders, right?

Hoping this baby decides to arrive close to his due date or earlier because wks 40-42 were torture!

I taught Kindergarten last time I was pregnant.  There is no way I would have been able to work until the end.
I was done at 33 weeks.
This pregnancy hasn't been nearly as rough so far.  I know not every pregnancy is the same, but I really do credit some of it to the fact that I can sit more frequently at my job now.  My back doesn't hurt nearly as much as it did last time.  They started inducing me at 37w 4d because of blood pressure issues, so I'm glad I went off when I did.

That said, I am hoping to work until 36 weeks this time... but we will see.  I'm also CDN... so I need to use my sick days before I go off unless I have medical issues, in which case I can access more EI... but it doesn't affect my time with baby after.
