1. What baby is this for you? First 2. Do you know the sex/name of the baby yet? It's a boy--Charles "Charlie" 3. What took you so long to intro? I am a terrible procrastinator! But I have been lurking since October, mainly late at night when I can't sleep. Now that I am stuck in bed with my second bad cold in less than a month (I thought second trimester was supposed to be the fun one!), I'm bored and figured I would jump on this thread

4. What's your favorite part of our BMB? the honesty, and the fact that there are no limits on the topics. 5. When you're not bumping, what are your other hobbies? Right now it's work, prenatal Pilates and prenatal yoga. 6. Anything else you care to share? Charlie was sucking his thumb at the 20 week ultrasound! So cool.

5. When you're not bumping, what are your other hobbies? Books and more books. I also like to get my craft on, though mostly what I create is more monstrous than it is prettyness. I'm working on it. I pretend to love yoga, but mostly I just suffer through and bitch in my head about having to do it at all. Don't tell.
6. Anything else you care to share? I can't believe there's not a food question here, so I'll share about food. Cheese. Also, cheese. And cheese. Somebody on this thread (I'm too lazy to go look) posted a "making love to a slice of pizza" GIF that describes perfectly my love for cheese and all cheese-central (or even cheese-adjacent) foods.
I'm hungry.

We almost used Luke as a nick name. Partially for Luke Skywalker, because DH wanted his best friend to reference him as Darth Vader and because our son will be the 4th... so we needed a new name to separate from the other men in the family. And my MIL wanted DH to be Atticus... but my FIL stopped that. She loves To Kill A Mockingbird, so we told her if we ever have a girl we'll nick name her Scout.

1. What baby is this for you? First!!!!
2. Do you know the sex/name of the baby yet? Yes, we are having a boy! William Robert the 4th. AKA Bill. We lost my FIL at the end of 2013 so in his memory and since there aren't any more Bill's in the family we will keep that tradition. We did toss around Liam or Luke (after our last name) for a while.
3. What took you so long to intro? I honestly, never really thought of it before.
4. What's your favorite part of our BMB? I love the fact that I can come on here and find others going through the same thing. It's nice to discuss with those actually knowing what is going on that talking to others who have been pregnant before.
5. When you're not bumping, what are your other hobbies? I work at a daycare center in the baby room. I also teach at a dance center. I normally take class too but since I won't be able to perform in the recital I just teach.
6. Anything else you care to share? I'm enjoying my comfy snow day. But seriously, we've had enough snow this winter. I'm ready for warmer weather.

and only baby in the family, both sides. Scared sh!tless (can write that here without an "!"?!), as neither SO and I been around any babies/kids.
2. Do you know the sex/name of the baby yet? It's a girl, no name yet... though we are getting a lot of unwanted suggestions!
3. What took you so long to intro? Recently joint here... Happy the site didn't let me post anything so I had to lurk for couple of days, otherwise I would have been gif'ed outta here first day!!!
4. What's your favorite part of our BMB? Don't know yet.
5. When you're not bumping, what are your other hobbies? Cooking, eating, reading, watching tv, playing the piano, shopping, etc.
6. Anything else you care to share? I'm from Canada, been married for 5 years, both my husband and I are in our early 30's... I'm a banker but love love love shopping and dressing people, worked as a personal shopper (on my days off) for a while, but realized I don't like people much so I save my "talent" for my friends only lol

Hope I get to know everyone quickly as I am late to the game here... and bring it on!

@Rachel5130 yeah, she came here to bitch about how mean we are, and also posted in our UO today, so if she came here "to get away" then why won't she stop writing shit on our BMB about how mean we are?

Also, we have folks who are due anywhere from June 28th (as far as I know) through the end of July.. I'm pretty sure she's referring to a post where the OP accidentally calculated out the weeks wrong.

Ohh we are so mean... We welcome all, doesn't matter your due date (I am due July 2). I know one lady due June 28th that figures she will go late so she posts on our board.

We give support where support is needed. I know a ton of ladies that are very nice on our board and have helped me while I am currently going through a tough time. And a good many of the posts you originated didn't get bad comments. They just didn't get a ton of comments.

I would like quotes on where you feel we were being meanie mc meanieheads.

1. What baby is this for you? After trying for 3 yrs, our 1st baby! And she was a very welcome surprise!
2. Do you know the sex/name of the baby yet? A girl, not 100% on a name yet.
3. What took you so long to intro? I intro'd awhile ago but don't post often - I am quiet! I lurk all the time.
4. What's your favorite part of our BMB? that it allows us to talk pregnancy all the time without annoying our real life friends
5. When you're not bumping, what are your other hobbies? Riding horses (yup still riding!), rescuing dogs, eating
6. Anything else you care to share? According to our fertility docs I was unable to conceive. They were wrong! Also, I miss wine. A lot.

I have had so many miscarriages and failed IUI's and IVf's that I was too nervous to formally announce myself. I was so nervous in the beginning, and afraid to get too excited, too ingrained, etc. 4. What's your favorite part of our BMB? Compassion, humor, fierce protection of each other from creepy posters. 5. When you're not bumping, what are your other hobbies? Reading, playing with my dogs, beach 6. Anything else you care to share? I am still displaced from Hurricane Sandy, and just hoping and praying our construction is done before baby.

It's never well received to come to a new board vocalizing you didn't like the previous board and complaining about them. If you're not a frequent forum user, think of it this way. It'd be like walking into Starbucks and having a barista make you a drink you didn't like, then turning around to the other barista to complain about the first one's shitty drink.

That being said, June '14 obviously makes the best drinks around here (neener neener July :P ) but you really should do some lurking, because if you thought July was bad, June is much worse on the snarky scale.

I've been a lurker for a while with the occasional comment here and there.

1. What baby is this for you?

First. To be clear, my wife is actually the one who is pregnant. But being on the bump is definitely not her thing so i'm happily volunteering to be in her place. Also, as I like to claim, I have pseudocyesis or pseudopregnancy because I am so involved in this pregnancy process that it's perhaps bordering on being a bit creepy. Me: "God, I'm so overly sensitive to smell lately, it's weird." I think i'm eating for two lately too. I swear, it must be a female thing because somedays I swear I convince myself i'm actually the pregnant one.

2. Do you know the sex/name of the baby yet?

We are having a girl. Her name is Hayden Grace.

3. What took you so long to intro?

A lot of reasons. Being a gay couple perhaps being the primary and the fact that my wife is actually the one who is pregnant. However, I've learned so much from this board and I've been able to pass along this info to my wife, which has been incredibly helpful for getting through this pregnancy smoothly thus far. Also, I admittedly have been lazy. I tend to bump from my mobile and it's much harder to follow the threads and to type well-formed and thought out responses on my thumbelina keyboard. Third, I accidentally included my full name (i mean fake name) on here and I have no idea how to change it. So, I pretty much have to be on my best behavior or else. And I'm not a fan of being on my best behavior at all times.

4. What's your favorite part of our BMB?

I'm pretty obsessed with being prepared (overly prepared) and researching about her pregnancy and the baby, so it's a bonus when I can also get honest opinions from others going through similar experiences and fo from those whom are experienced in the baby dept.

5. When you're not bumping, what are your other hobbies?

Spending time with my three pups (Golden Retriever, Border Collie Mix, Yorkie), hiking, exercising, watching ridiculous television (gold rush--I desperately want my own sluice box for anyone that follows--I think it's the whole treasure finding concept that's fun).

6. Anything else you care to share?

My wife and I got married in August now that it is legal in our state and we're going on 7 years together. We are both in the same profession, which is fun (and how we met). Bonus that we get to attend conferences together, which included Hawaii last year. Woohoo! She is Korean, and we used a Caucasian donor and i'm really anxious to see how our baby will look.

amyrsteiner - Thank you for sharing your intro with us! I think it's totally normal to have pregnancy sympathy symptoms for your wifey. I share my symptoms with everyone, from eating a lot to pregnancy brain to whatever, it just happens. I'm not sure if you guys did IUI or IVF but there's a bunch of us who have had to use modern science to have our little ones. We usually check in on the Tuesday PAIF post (pregnant after infertility).

Thank you for the very warm welcome--that means a lot, truly. My wife did do IUI. Against all odds, it took the first time. I couldn't believe it. We are truly blessed. We also now have a stock pile of "specimens" at the cryobank, which is wonderful in case we decide to go for a second after this little girl. So we may be visiting modern science again in the future.

2. Do you know the sex/name of the baby yet? It's a girl! Love Adriana for a first name, but can't seem to come up with a middle name yet. May be Grace, Elizabeth, or Marie. It may be a "game time" decision like my 1 st dd - Olivia Rose

3. What took you so long to intro? I'm painfully shy and can get wary of the snark. The way you girls describe it as walking into a room and just announcing info (those crazy aw/ss posts), I go the other way. In a room full of people, I'm the wallflower and stick to the perimeter only really speaking when spoken to. Total opposite of my aw husband, lol!
Also, I can't check in consistently, so I bump mostly in the middle of the night or before getting out of bed in the morning. Sometimes I miss the inside jokes that way.

4. What's your favorite part of our BMB? I like reading and relating to others. The gifs you girls do are hysterical, and the support system is awesome. I like being able to offer any of my STM advice that I can, I remember feeling overwhelmed at times being a FTM.

5. When you're not bumping, what are your other hobbies? Chasing after my 2.5 yo. I teach 2nd grade during the day, so I'm also trying to balance the Little One while getting my "homework" done too. By the time she goes down at night, so do I!

6. Anything else you care to share?
Still trying to figure out how to get a profile pic up. TIA for being patient with the standard one.

Welcome everyone! I figured I'd finally play along - if something gets to be six pages before I hop in, I have to admit, I usually skip it. But for all you lovely ladies, I will make sacrifices.

1. What baby is this for you? Two - M is 3 1/2
2. Do you know the sex/name of the baby yet? It's a girl - but none of that "team pink" for me - I'm Team Awesome
3. What took you so long to intro? I intro'd in September, right after BFP - actually went back to find the post - so cool to see who was around at that point.
4. What's your favorite part of our BMB? I actually don't like it at all. I don't know why I spend countless hours here............ kidding, of course. I love all of it. I love the snark. I love the honesty. I love the love and support. Of course, I love the gifs (especially the Doctor Who, Supernatural, and Outlander ones). And, most importantly, I love the wonderful women who come here, who allow me to be me (even when I desperately want to snark someone, and all I can muster is a mostly nice response - thank you for accepting me as I am).
5. When you're not bumping, what are your other hobbies? Chat... reading books (currently reading the fifth Outlander book). TV and movies with DH. Dealing with my whackadoodle child.
6. Anything else you care to share?
