@bebemac I didn't update because I didn't want to seem braggy. Or like Kels. Buutttt, he booked us a room at the Four Seasons downtown, we got upgraded to the Governors Suite, the view is incredible. Had dinner at the restaurant here, got a beautiful purple quartz ring and had some very hot sex. He had to wrk this am (like 15 minutes away) so I got room service and lounged and now getting a prenatal massage. He's picking me up and we are headed to this motorcycle show (tickets were his present). I feel like an absolute spoiled princess. I havent even told anyone what we did because I know I will sound like a brat.
@bebemac it was incredible. It was definitely a once in a lifetime moment so I just enjoyed every second. Once baby comes, spontaneous overnights are obviously done. I am very lucky and extremely grateful
We're back from the 3D u/s! The babies look great but (pro tip) if you already have active babies in the morning, don't try to "perk them up" by drinking orange juice before your morning ultrasound. The OJ set them over the edge and they were fighting each other the whole time!
Sorry for the crappy phone pics of a pic, we were at breakfast!
Violet rubbing her eye - you can see the soft spot from the plates on the skull.
Scarlett rubbing her eye - apparently we got a lot of eye rubbing going on lol
Annnd baby Scarlett getting round house kicked in the face from Violet. Keep your hands up girl!
Brats :P I was totally right that Violet had changed positions, hence all the crampy, achey, ickiness the past few days. They're now in a ying/yang position instead of an "L". Mystery solved!
My other AW... I got a vanilla milkshake on the way home. Booyah!
@joules235 our granola goddess! I need help. My skin is SO dry, especially my hands. Coconut oil is not helping. Any suggestions?
OMG! Me, too! My face has dandruff. I don't get it because I use OCM with a little castor oil and mostly apricot oil. The backs of my hands and wrists are like an iguana!
@katekat8721 I can't handle all of this adorableness! Must show my H! You must be over the moon!
Question: How will you know who is Scarlet and who is Violet once they're born? Me dumb, remember?
Score on the milkshake - what a perfect Saturday!
Not dumb! They name the baby closest to the cervix "A" and the one further "B"! If you deliver vaginally this doesn't change, but if you have a c-section they may pull "B" out first and then call her baby "A" since she was the first delivered. Confusing! We have to wait and see how they're positioned before birth to determine if we can do vaginal/c-section, but if it's a c-section I'll be the spaz yelling at the doc "which one did you grab first?!?!" haha
@bebemac, re: dry skin -- if you haven't already, make sure you're not washing your face too much. I only wash mine to remove makeup. And since pregnancy has given me the skin of a wealthy lady who takes care of her face, I've nixed most foundation and am only washing it once a week now. I don't know if it the a) not washing it or b) not putting on foundation, but all of my rampant flakiness ceased.
As if my EDD (6/6) couldn't get any more awesome (because, well, new baby and whatnot) - turns out the next season of Orange is the New Black is getting released that day too! Thank you Netflix Gods!!

I just opened this thread to post this! Get out of my head! Seriously though I'm excited too!!
Great minds think alike! SO excited!!! So glad Laura Prepon decided to come back in a substantial way, love her character. This will be a wonderful way to spend a few days with a newborn!
Thanks! I will definitely buy and not DIY. Once I rendered my own leaf lard and my house smelled fer dayzzz. Plus, most days it's all I can do to brush my teeth, so there's that.
@katekat8721 they are precious! thanks for sharing!
i'm so frustrated that my H never wants to talk about names and when we do we don't agree on anything. last night when i voiced this to him, he told me, it will all fall into place like it usually does. not if we don't talk about it won't. this poor child is never going to have a first name. i've been looking at the name/sex thread just so i can see what you are all naming your daughters for some ideas and inspiration. we already have two girls and our list of names we don't like or are off limits is long. i'm not having much hope at this point of picking a name before june. /endrantwhinebitchmoan
I feel your pain, H and I can't agree on a boy name. We have a girl name picked out and ready to go but keep going back and forth about the boy name. When ever I bring it up he starts throwing out all kinds of nutso names that neither of us would ever consider. Not. Helping.
I actually had a little mini-emotional breakdown about this today, too. I feel like I look at names all the time, make suggestions, and he just nixes everything I say. Then, he will throw these ridiculous names out there that either I can't pronounce (Finnish) or NMS (super Italian) and I at least TRY to get on board with them... But really, they are ridiculous. I have never even heard of Koosti as a name. And I'm Italian but would never name my kid Luciano. Then I say Luca and he doesn't even humor me, it's just no, absolutely not. I finally just started ugly crying today when he nixed Cyrus without a second thought and I wasn't even that set on it, anyway. Our LO will just be Baby Boy Lastname forever
We were set with a girl name, and a back-up. Oh well.
Neither of us have a middle name and we don't plan on giving LO a middle name either. I'm not sure if that makes it easier, or just puts more pressure on the first name!
Not just a German thing. I'm italian and DH is Finnish... Neither of our parents did middle names for us or our siblings... My grandparents didn't use them either. It actually took me a while to get used to people putting so much focus on MNs on the bump, they're so foreign to me. Not bad, just not even a little on our radar.

Yeah, MNs have always been a big deal in my family, mostly because they are often family names passed down through the generations. As I said above, my kids all have family member's first or middle names as their mn. It's a nice way for us to honor family members, but still allow our kids to have their own names for first names.
I think that's really nice
My fn is a family name and I love it (I loved my Nana, who I'm named after).
At this point I wish we had a family name we wanted to use, just to help us pick a name!
@lest12 I love Luca!! It's always been my favorite boy name but my SO is Lucas. I love Luciano (it's my dad's name) but I can't bring myself to name out boy that. I would love Luciana for a girl and have her go by Lucy. My dad immigrated here from Italy and no mn either.
We made a rule of "no family names." That was our only rule. We just didn't want the kid tied to the family that way. Individuality is really important to us. I also feel like there's some freedom in not having your name connected to someone else known, alive or in the past.
@joules235 To me, the kids have DH's family's last name so that is honor enough. My dad is the last male in his family and then he had two girls so our MN choices favor strongly on my side of the family.

I like this idea. I kinda wish we had gone this way because we are having issues getting our boy first names to work with the family middle names we like. Its more practical to just give yourself full freedom in naming. Now with DD named after people in my side I feel like we need to honor DH's side this time...
Also I love your siggy pic, it makes me smile every time I see it.

@joules235: just remember, you really don't have to. In the long run, no one is going to comment or care. When you named your daughter, you made lots of choices to arrive at that name. And you'll make lots of choices to find a name for you're son as well.
I'm a big advocate of making the big or meaningful life choices based on what you want. Family rarely care as much as we worry they will, and good family doesn't care at all. They'll just be delighted to have a new member.

@elsa1688 - I love Luca, too! I don't understand how DH loves Luciano so much, but not Luca.
Out of curiosity, does your dad have a NN he goes by? Lucy would be adorable for the female version but other than "Lou" I don't know what a not would go by.
My middle name is Jo. Ugh. Jo is splattered throughout my family - great grandma was Jo Ella, mom is Jo Ann, cousin is Mary Jo. On Friday when I went to the court to change my last name to my married name I sliced that baby off. What a relief! Mom will be pissed, but whatevs. I just keep reminding her that I am 38, not 8.
@lest12 Most of his friends call him "Luch" (loo-ch). And to friends kids/ our little cousins he was "papa Luch".
Another thought, nn don't always come from first names. And they tend to lend themselves to people or not. I'm Ornella and never really had a nn. My sister is Oriana and a ton of people call her Nana. It's not always something you can control.
Ok, pg stuff is beyond my mathematics. So if some one says they are due with a baby in Nov. wouldn't that make her like 2 weeks along?? I can't find a computer thing to figure this out for me, just a due date calculator, so I have to guess last menstral cycle (awkward).
Anyone know how or where I can figure this out???
@lizm05 - it is impossible to know that you are due with a baby in November. I was due 9/31 with DS and got my BFP on 1/27 (I could have tested a few days earlier). I would say that an exception MIGHT be if they did some type of fertility treatments, but I'm too tired to even do that math.
On a side note, I lurked on the November board and saw one of our June mommies with an angel baby is expecting again (and correcting a poster re: due date). Made me happy to see that.
Yea I dunno what to think about it for sure. I went to my moms and was gonna read her texts to see if that's actually what they said and my brother had actually called her. My mom has memory problems so I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't remember correctly... But I asked her and she was positive they said Nov... If it really was, there's something fishy about it all.

@elsa1688 - DH said we would call him "Luch", too. I'm not so worried about all the nn's he'll have growing up and through life... but rather, what I would call him now, lol. Luciano just feels like a lot of name, you know?
You and your sister have beautiful names, though! I had assumed your name was Elsa.
Ornella Elsa lastname it's pretty google-able to I changed it to be less so. Little sister is Oriana Maria Rosa lastname. How's that for a lot of name, @lest12?? eta: Baby Luch might just be an adorable nn. Or a nn Luca? Best of both worlds?
