Hey Dads,
It's been a while, but I'm back and it's been a crazy ride since my last post. The wife is pregnant again...and with twins! I'll have three kids under 2! As soon as I can figure out this widget-timeline thing I'll update that. Plus, just traded in my SUV for a mini van. Tried to fight it but we couldn't fit 3 car seats in the Equinox...so I'm making mini vans sexy again...does it help to have Sesame Street on repeat in the DVD player?
Re: Mini Van Sexiness
Ain't no sexy in that, player.
Twins!!! 3 kids under 2 equals prision guard certification.
Yers, I know I have used that before. Never gets old!
And Sesame Street is my jam. Elmo is my hero. He can keep my son occupied for entire 10-15 minute blocks of time!
My wife doesn't want a minivan. I think she feels like it would trap her as a soccer mom forever. We looked at some when her car died a couple years ago, but she couldn't bring herself to do it.
More space, more versatile, and better mileage if you get the Diesel.... and pretty much the same price.
I have a couple friends with them and they are flippin awesome.
one weekend, camping
next weekend, trackday with THREE bikes
They are truly the most versatile vehicle ever made. Don't skimp out either, get the bells and whistles. You can even trick it out a little, tint the windows, slam it, but it on air bags or hydraulics, Sesame St sounds awesome with some subs hooked up, install a super charger and a NOS kit or whatever floats your boat. Just make it yours and drive the snot out of it.
Whatever you do, don't forget the "If This Van's A Rockin..." bumper sticker.
Congrats on the twins! 3 under 2, I've got 2, one just turned 3 and the other turns 1 in less than 2 weeks and I've got my hands full with them. Good luck!
Wow, congrats. The pressure is on now. The last 3 guys to announce pregnancies have all been twins.
We're lucky that my son will be 3 and a half when they are born. We have a Mazda Tribute, but I haven't tried the car seats yet. I was just assuming I could get them to fit, but maybe I should mess with it this weekend. My son can sit in a booster seat so that will help save space.
So how many weeks is your wife? Mine is 15 weeks.
You're all in for sure.
We picked up an extra car seat and bassinet at 70% off at Target. Getting an extra crib from a friend. Plan on getting the Options stroller. You can buckle the car seats in it, and then when they're older it comes with bigger seats. And they're under 300 bucks. Just need a swing and a bouncy now. Everything else is the small stuff.
Or sets of twins, apparently?
We are in the final stages, 34 weeks on Sunday.
Are you guys finding out the genders? We haven't. Planning a C-section? Currently both babies are are head down and we are planning to do it the old fashioned way!
Glad I've got some guys here who can relate with me.
We're planning on finding out the sex. They told us there's a 50% change of C-section and we don't really have much say in the matter.
Can you post a link to the City Select. A quick google search turned up a bunch of stuff and I wasn't for sure which one. We are planning on going with an Options stroller.
@DavidStamps - I think it's actually Contours Options LT. It's $270. You don't want that one though. The Contours Optima is $300. The main difference I see is that the Optima has cup holders. Here's a link. You can find the Options LT from this link too. https://www.buybuybaby.com/store/product/Contours-reg-Optima-reg-Double-Tandem-Stroller-in-Berkeley/1018586487?categoryId=32044
I think you'll need to buy an extra infant car seat attachment so you can put both car seats on it. I think it only comes with one. It also comes with 2 normal seats for when they're older or for your older son to sit in. Congrats on the boys. My wife really wants girls so maybe this is a sign we'll get girls. You know, to even everything out.

davidstamps - congrats on the boys! We had our 34 week scan this morning and all went well. Both kids are weighing in around 5 lbs do all looks good for now!
That's great news. Seems like you guys are well on your way.
She found a Toyota Seinna XLE Limited today that she likes, so we brought it home tonight. Looks like another van added to the family. She swore that she would never drive a mini van but I finally converted her.
Now just have to figure out how to pimp it out and make it sexy!
The arm rest is very important. My sister had a car that didn't really have one. I drove it a couple times and hated it.
Spoiler and flames is really the only way to go. Rims, tinted windows, and any sort of neon will get you huge bonus points.
Pimpin' it out Japanese style!!
