Okay here is my AWing moment of the day... I was raised Catholic but DH and I weren't married in a Catholic Church. DH is currently becoming Catholic, baby will be baptized Catholic... So that means we are going to go through a Convalidation Ceremony (basically the church blesses our marriage so it is a sacrament)
They treat it like a short wedding ceremony here so I need help with picking a dress... It will be in a darker ivory color. What do you think? One or two? I know they are ridiculously similar, but I can't decide which one to order, and I need to order it this week!
I love the first one! The quality of the lace looks much better; the second one just has a cheap look to it. You are going to look gorgeous
In the last SS/AW thread, I mentioned that my DH had lost his job and the new one he had did not pay enough. Yesterday, he got a job offer, in the field he wanted, making significantly more money. He will also get 2 weeks paid off so he will be able to be home a little when the baby is born. I feel so much relief right now.
Because I didn't want to open a new discussion ... I have a SS question:
We have decided not to do any type of Labor class since we do not have a sitter for our nephew. Does anyone recommend a book I can pick up that will give me a run down of everything that a class would cover?
There are other options outside of hypnobabies. I think it is fantastic that you are going to lengths to educate yourself as well as YH. The Birth Partner is a fantastic resource for both of you- I know hubby said it really helped him understand more of what I was going through and have him the courage to support me.
His perspective before any class/reading was 'why be in pain if there are dura and you don't need to be?' After reading the book he was able to give the support I needed to get through drug free. By both being informed we were able to make a decision that we were both comfortable with and felt we could support throughout the duration of labour. Take it with a grain of salt, but it is also worth it to watch the business of being born - it is a very biased movie but raises some important questions that are worth talking about.
My husband didn't get the job he applied for and we are both pretty bummed. We were both thinking there was no way he wouldn't get it and were kind of shocked. His interview went so well and considering the fact that he has been doing research, for two years, for this company on something they are going to incorporate into one of their processes, we thought he was in.
So sad to hear this - what a disappointment! Was this the job you folks were going to move for?

Awesome! Remember I said when one door closes another one opens? Booyah!

Yes it was. He has also been having weekly meetings and working with these people for two years and they sent him an automated form style rejection e-mail at 4:45pm. Really?! Can't even pick up the phone and call? WTF
That's a low blow. Jerks. Something even better will come up soon!

@lizardbreath14 Awww, your pup is cute. I know the nerve-wracking feeling. I also dropped my fur baby off at the vet this morning to get spayed. They asked me if I wanted her resuscitated if she went south and I said, "Hell yes, you do NOT let her die!" FX to both of them.
OMG why would they even ASK that? Yes, I will be thinking of your baby, too! I just wish they could understand why we're dropping them off and that we're coming back! That's the worst part -- that look on the face that says, "Why are you leaving me here?"
I hate that question. It's standard on all pre-op forms I have ever signed!
@lizardbreath14 aww poor pup! Give him extra hugs tonight xo
AFM well I sent another inappropriate IM at work. This one at least to the right person, but I sent it while he was showing a manager something on the computer and it popped up on his screen while she was there. I'm hoping she's blind and just didn't notice...
Of course it would be the IM that says "f@ck you blowjob!" Facepalm.
Vent: When I found out I was pregnant my mother broke the news to my grandmother. Annoying, but I let it slide because its her mother.
When I found out I was having a boy I tried to call my grandmother several times but kept missing her. She does not have a voicemail. So after a few attempts of not reaching her, I ended up announcing on FB. She does not have FB so I figured I would still get a chance to tell her.
Well today my aunt was talking to my mom and told her that she told my grandma I was having a boy, and she was pretty pleased with herself that she got to break the news. My mom told her that was rude, and she should have let me tell grandma. Aunt's response? "Well she should have told her already" Excuse me?!!! I have been calling!!!! The hormones in me want to yell and scream at her, but I am biting my tongue.
Anyways, I guess if I ever decide to have another baby, grandma is the first to know, so no one else blabs. I don't understand why people think they have to be the first to tell someone else's good news.
H has an interview for a full time job using his masters with great pay tomorrow. If you knew my H you would know an interview with him is like a guaranteed job. Once meeting him they will do anything to put him on their team. It would be so awesome for us and be such a great opportinity for his career. Woohoo!
Awesome! Sounds like I don't need to bother saying good luck, so I'll skip straight to saying congrats on the new job!
Someone please help me understand why someone has to complete a deposit through a drive thru ATM when there are two teller drive thru lines open and the inside of the bank is open. I just can't comprehend this.

Oops. I do that sometimes when I don't want to deal with people and I don't need the funds available immediately.
@lizardbreath14 Sad news, indeed. I know it may be shocking to see a different face, but he's still the same little guy with the same little heart, right?
Oh god... so, I just got home from the vet. First I will say, Ringo is healthy and did very well. But... I walked in and they told me they took 10 teeth. I started sobbing uncontrollably. They put me in a room with the vet, where I asked him why the hell he never recommended tooth cleaning before this year. He apologized, saying Ringo is usually muzzled and won't let him look at his teeth. He was totally right -- I was just so upset. So, he explained that it had to be done -- the teeth were totally rotten -- and that he still has 20 teeth left and he will be fine. Then they got my Ringo, and unfortunately, all his front teeth are gone. I started crying again -- his face looks different.
But truthfully, I think the reason it makes me so sad is it makes me realize that he's getting older and he won't be around forever. I know he's "just a dog," but that thought is so upsetting to me. He's been with me longer than my husband!
I was lurking on the baby names board and one poster said they would be "okay" with someone naming their kid whatever name they were talking about. Excuse me? You'd be "okay" with it? While I think some people choose awful names, it's not my kid and it's not my choice and it doesn't matter if I would be "okay" with it. Who the hell do people think they are? Seriously, go ahead and name your kid abcde, I don't care.

What assholes! I'm sorry sweets!
Thank you everyone! @lilnunz1, I have my interview next Wednesday. I'm trying to prepare myself without freaking myself out!
Sidenote 1: Hope he isn't getting any of those bottom 3 pulled - those are too cute!
Sidenote 2: How the heck can you look so fabulous in the mornings?!
