As some of you know we are licensed foster parents and have been waiting for kids to come into our home. We wanted to stay with young children since we are having a child of our own and wanted them all close in age. We got the call Friday asking if we would take a placement of a 2 year old and a 5 month old, both little girls. We jumped at the opportunity and said yes right away! The case worker did warn us that the family was very transient and was going to be difficult to locate, so we hoped for the best. We spent Saturday running errands, picking up diapers, formula and a few odds and ends stuff that we didn't already have. Then we waited, and waited. We got a phone call from the Country Children Services at 10:30pm the girls were at the intake center and being evaluated by a social worker and nurse. We were told to pick them up around midnight. We arrived very nervous and excited for the journey to come. We had to wait a little while, but we finally got to meet both girls. They are bi-racial, beautiful little girls. Both are good weights and don't appear to be malnourished. The toddler took to me right away and has become my little buddy. The baby is super good and is a chunker! We got them home and in bed around 2am. Considering they were just taken out of their home and with total strangers the night went perfect. We read a few stories, then tucked them in and both went to sleep pretty easily. The baby woke around 530 am, drank a bottle and went right back to sleep. I got up with her, fed her downstairs and slept on the couch while she slept in the pack n play. I let my wife sleep until 930 when the baby woke up again. I woke up the toddler so she didn't sleep all day and we are hoping to get her to take a good nap this afternoon. We really couldn't ask for an easier 12 first hours. My wife cooked us a yummy breakfast of eggs, bacon (I was totally craving it) and toast. As we sat at the table with the toddler (while the baby was sleeping) we just looked at one another and smiled. We asked the toddler if she liked the food and she said yes and "thank you". We both teared up and realized that our dreams have come true. We both have dreamed of being parents, made the decision to become foster parents and it has all come true for us.
We have a ton of arranging and organizing to get done today. Talk about instant family! We are just elated and a little scared. So if you all wouldn't mind sending positive vibes our way. This is not going to be easy, but we are up for the challenge.

We're queer. I'm 33, have severe stage 4 endo, and had both fallopian tubes removed. My love ("Manada" on the boards, 32) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tavin and Casey at 21 weeks gestation.
Our IUIs
with @Manada: IUI# 1-7 (December 2012- September 2013) all BFN. Tried natural, femara, clomid, puregon/follistim, clomid and menopur combo, both the ovidrel and HCG triggers.
Our IVFs:
IVF #1 my eggs November/December 2013: Cancelled IVF due to poor response
IVF #2 my eggs/Manada's uterus January/February 2014
BCPs and lupron overlap Stimmed: 1/22-2/2: Bravelle and Menopur (dosage ranged from B300 and M150 to B375 and M150 to B300 and M225)
2/4 retrieved 10 eggs. Endo was much worse than expected. Only 3 eggs fertilized; February 7 transferred two day 3 embryos, froze one. All great condition.
BFP eve of 6dp3dt; Beta 1 (11dp3dt): 110; Beta 2 (13dp3dt): 175; Beta 3 (15dp3dt): 348; Beta 4 (19dp3dt): 2222; Beta 5 (21dp3dt): 4255

New Plan: Reciprocal IVF, me as carrier wife's eggs. Just went through insurance and received partial approval, so my part will go through my IVF benefits and wife's part will be out of pocket. Now just finalizing finance plans to cover the oop costs. Doctors office is in process of moving to a new building so there are no IVF start ups until March/April 2015.
