mullenem Thank you. As for two exits for safety the room is actually going to have two doors, one on each side, that leads to separate exits out of the downstairs. My dad has been in construction and inspection most of his life so I'm trusting him on all this. I've got reactions varying from your understandable one to people telling me my child is going to be depressed sleeping in a dark room (uh...?) The color you suggested is also very pretty.
H has a coworker that's going to sell us their crib as soon as they buy a 'big girl bed' for their daughter. It's a slightly nicer one than we were going to get AND we're getting the crib, mattress and changing table (although I wasn't really planning on using it, but it's included) for $125!
It was funny because they sent pictures of it and I was comparing it to the stock photo online and noticed it was missing the top trim pieces that covered the screw holes and asked if they had them. Yup, apparently he never put those on when he originally assembled the crib two years ago, they were still in the bag in the closet....his wife was pissed that he never noticed. LOL.
I finished my first big project. This changing table was $30 on craiglist. With a $3 vintage bed sheet I "upholstered" it and BAM, cutest poo changing station evaaaaaa. I am going for a patchwork kitsch theme I suppose....
Love seeing everyone's progress! We've been moving along in the nursery, got the crib & changing table put together & added a few more pieces for our gallery wall.
Well, we still don't have a nursery yet (currently in a 1 bedroom, looking for a 2 bedroom) but I made a pinterest craft tonight that I just have to share. Its a headband holder. I love it! And it was super easy.
We have recently decided that our boys will probably share a room. Which means no nursery decorating for me (boo! I had just picked a color combo/theme when we decided this). I don't remember if I had posted pictures of DS's room before though.. so here you go! It's a little different than the pictures, no more mobile or baby swing, we added a book case (and there are a ton more books now) and rearranged but basic idea. (sorry if this is a repeat!) We will buy a crib in a matching color and I haven't decided about another dresser or not
I finally ordered a new bedding set for the crib. Nothing too fancy or expensive and so glad I could find purple and neutral I also like the touches of red. Not much else done yet. I'm thinking purple stripes or a feature wall of some type.
NOTHING IS DONE and all my furniture will be on the registry. Shower not for another couple months too. (Room is still storage, office...a mess of crap.)

Is it just me?
Nope! We just did our registry today. We're not even buying a crib until she is 8months old. So we are rearranging our room to accomidate her in there and thats about it. We will make her room when she is 1 years old and know better what she likes!!!
@bmaidplanner no, it's not just you. My sister lives with us and her room will be our nursery. Her room will be our dining room... We haven't moved any of this around yet (I told her mid to end of February we will start moving). And all of our furniture is also on the registry... Except I did buy our crib a few weeks ago. But that's as much as we have done. It's just been too stinking cold (northern ohio) and too much snow to get our dining room furniture moved to my parents' to store it until we have room again.

All of these gorgeous nurseries are making me feel like a bum! I have to do a lot of work to get our current nursery and playroom ready for the twins. My plan for now is to take the current nursery (which my big two sleep in) into a "girls" room. It will house the twins' cribs and clothes and baby stuff, but also my daughter's bigger girly toys (like her kitchen, doll beds, etc). The twins won't be sleeping there for a while, and it will be nice for my oldest to have some of her own play space.
We are getting the ikea kura bunk beds for the current playroom (https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80253814/) and turning it into a boy/girl big kid room for the older two to sleep in. They love sharing a room! I need to majorly purge toys, go through a closet, then paint. SO MUCH to do.
The room is about 90% done now. Our daughters will share a room so it was more about rearranging to fit another crib and dresser but I did do some redecorating too. Have a few more things to buy but it's so close!
we are doing a coral, gray and white scheme for eavie's room. i had spent waaaaaay too much on restoration baby bedding for my daughter to just start over this time. lol. so i am re-using the gray ruffled crib skirt, bed skirt, and duvet cover, but switching the accent color from their petal color to a medium coral color. i found a woman on etsy to make custom crib bumpers in the minky dot fabric i have been obsessed with since my first baby. i believe all babies should be surrounded by the softest fabrics, so no stiff sheets and bumpers for me! i am obsessed with pbk chamois sheets for just this reason.
the nursery has bright white wainscoting, so it will look similar to this pic, except our trim in much higher on the wall. but i love the gray glider, too.
i am so excited to finally know who is in here (though this pg is SO much like my son that i was stunned it was another girl) and get started!
These nurseries are all so gorgeous!! We've got a bunch of work done but I'll wait until my curtains and storage baskets are here to post pics we did grey, orange and turquoise for our second little mister
Here's our first little guys room! He's 18 months now! I love this room! And was so tempted to do grey and yellow again. Daddy said no though haha.
So far we've painted and gotten new carpeting put in and brought the crib and changing table up into the room (crib still needs to be assembled, though). I was sad to realize, after getting the crib upstairs, that there probably won't be room for a glider because the room is so small. That was a "must have" for me but we have a twin bed taking up space in the nursery that we plan to keep in there, I guess, so the glider just won't fit. I'm bummed!
nothing yet either:( we are finishing the basement so once that is done i can move the guest room furniture down there into one of the bedrooms and start painting the nursery and then get the furniture ordered!!! I did order the bedding from Pottery Barn but still have so much to do!!! Only 16 more weeks!!! Yikes
@babygabe614 -- that's a bummer! I would be disappointed if our glider didn't fit. In order to create more space, we took the doors off the closet and made a change table/custom shelving unit. Anyway you could do that? Once we did, the glider and two cribs were totally good to go!
We're going to try some rearranging of the furniture but since we are not putting a dresser in the room for now, we have to get creative with storage in the closet. I hope we can come up with something!
Our glider is here and it's beautiful! We also finished the ceiling yesterday. Now I want to buy bedding but I am waiting for a sale or discount code from Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware Baby. If anyone has one they can share, I will love you forever! Here's a sneak peek of our ceiling, we are pretty proud of it

Awesome ceiling!!
Isn't PB having a sale now? Or is it just the normal "sale items?"

Unfortunately it's just their sale items and Star Wars bedding. I am looking to buy some organic sheets, which aren't bad at $19, but the shipping costs are crazy!

I love it!!! How did u do it?? I totally want to steal the idea but I'm so not that crafty lol
I used a vintage bed sheet, but any fabric will work. I measured and cut the pieces for different sections as I went along, and with some of the trickier areas made a paper pattern first. Then I would put a thin layer of modge podge on the table with a foam brush, and smooth on the fabric, careful to brush out any air bubbles. Once you get a method going it flies by pretty fast. It probably could go even faster if instead of cutting pieces to fit a section you just cut long 1 or 2" strips and "wrapped" it- like this lady did: https://www.4men1lady.com/diy-fabric-wrapped-bench/
My overall tip would be to make sure your modge podge it applied super thin. It doesn't take much. If you use a thinner fabric like I did, if you brush it on too thick it will seep through and in 1 or 2 spots is visible once dry. Otherwise it dried clear! Good luck!
I need your opinion. My coworker is selling her crib for $50. It is light wood and I would paint it white. Is it safe to paint a crib? What kind of paint would be best?

Still need to paint the walls gray, get an area rug, new light fixture, and other touches... But we finally got Sawyer's crib together so I thought I'd post it!
