Call my parents immediately they luckily live 2 minutes away. I'm praying to God I don't go into labor on my own. We're scheduling an induction a week before my due date in hopes that my husband can make it home.
How have I not considered this? We had a planned c-section with DD, but I ended up in PTL the day after Christmas. Fortunately, we'd been staying up with my parents, so we were able to leave DS1 there and head to the hospital. We're planning on having a planned c-section with DS2, but I should really make some sort of accommodation if he also decides to join us early.
Both sets of parents are very closeby to us. If it's the middle of the night, we'll probably call my parents who live less than 2 miles away and have one of them come stay at the house with DD (and the dog). Then DH can go back home the following night to be with her. If we go during the day, my MIL watches her, so she'll already be there. Guess we should pack an overnight bag to store at the IL' s for that situation.
Our hospital is only 10 minutes away and both family and friends are within a 20 mile radius; as a result, I have asked SIL2 to watch DS if something dramatic happens but will have a friend who lives down the road stay with DS until SIL2 gets here. (Said friend has had me help her in similar situations and has already said she'd love to help out.)
However, I don't expect to be in the sort of predicament that you are, as I figure I'll have time to call people and get things rolling even if labor starts in the middle of the night. Good luck getting your situation figured out.
I hope I do. Last time my water broke at 1030p. If the same happens mil will come over & stay w/ ds when dh & I go to the hospital & probably take him to her house once he wakes up until it's time to come visit. If I go into labor before he's awake we'll take him over there & he will just spend the night.
Re: Moms of Toddlers - what's your plan if you go into labor in the middle of the night?
DS1 - 7/2011, DD 12/2012, DS2 - 4/2014, MMC - 12/2015
