I told my husband if he gets into med school in Omaha that me and Jude will not be going with him. (I've heard since that Omaha is not really THAT small.. But still. No.)
Yuma.
Columbia, Missouri!
I'm biased the children's hospital there is the bomb. They were amazing with DS's head injury. Plus there is the vet school. It's between KC @EMB&J and St. Louis @ajoyd and about an hour and half from the lake and me (bonus).

That's funny. We are applying there. My husbands best friend goes to med school in St. Louis and his other friend goes in Kansas City. We figured.. Hey why not be in the middle?! Missouri is where it's at obvs.
I miss Taco Hell's Chili Cheese Burritos. They were so good!
I haven't seen the new heavy trend y'all are referring to.
My UO (at least to DH and his fam and other country folk): I don't understand how anyone could be happy living in BFE. It's one thing if you live on the outskirts of a town that has a mall, Starbucks, decent grocery stores, etc. that you could get to fairly quickly. But I don't get why anyone would purposefully live so far away from civilization and only have access to shitty fast food restaurants, crappy grocery stores, and a pharmacy here and there. I mean...why would anyone want to live somewhere where you can't even have an effing pizza delivered or go to a movie at a movie theater without having to drive over an hour away?!?!? There is so much more to this world, and I truly don't understand why people purposefully shelter themselves in this way.

Actually, you can. There's a continent doing it: Europe. And we still waste shit loads of food (overproduction) through subsidies and we export foods.

Where in Europe are they doing this?
Taco Bell grosses me out, surprisingly I am ok with taco time. I haven't eaten fast food mexi like that in forever. Rubios and Chipotle FTW.
Living in BFE? No thanks...we live in the suburbs and the nearest Target is 15 minutes away which is bad enough!
My UO: moms who can't stand for you to do something different than what they do. My friend absolutely does not want me going back to work and is going out of her way to try to find more mommy things for me to do. No I don't want to go to mommy bible study and maybe I'm not cut out to be a SAHM like you!!!

Taco Bell is the worst, meat slime - no thank you. Then again all fast good is pretty nasty, I love chipotle though, does that count as fast food?
Naked babies with CD butt for the win, for sure. I wish it was warmer so LO could hang out in just her CD all the time.
Tampons, duh. Are people seriously using other things?
Facebook videos seem dumb but maybe I'm missing something? I watched mine and was unmoved. I'm not nearly bored enough to watch anyone else's.
I'm lame and have no UO of my own today. I'm currently trying to watch Channing Tatum on Ellen and instead the news is on because the Portland area got an inch of snow and apparently that's an emergency! There's my UO, I hate all things that interfere with my Channing Tatum viewing pleasure.
@quartermisses: I already sing to my kid and make up silly rhymes. I even sing some of the real books I read to him. #hateboynton
Be careful. The things you hate most they will love. It's a law.
I feel this passionately about this because someone gifted me the snuggle puppy book. I'm fair and will give it equal reading time along with all other books- and he does think it's pretty funny. I still hate that type of baby culture. Now give me a good ole fashioned Richard scarry simple book and I'm all over that.
Snuggle puppy was the go to book when dd1 was 2-3 for daddy bedtime stories. The memories of him and her snuggling and singing it every night are precious since he is not the type to sing silly songs to the girls.

Rooftop gardens in London! I did a paper on this in my Global Climate Change class. They are becoming really common, and they are really efficient for growing veggies! When we lived in London we lived right next to Richard Branson's Kensington Roof Gardens. Love it.
-----------------------
Haha yes, but I think @sleepy33 was referring to actual farms. You're not going to feed a city, let alone an entire nation, with rooftop gardens.
Eta: quote fail. Drink.
Etaa: and look at you @snowboarderbritt living in posh little Kensington Are you from London originally?
I'm curious where this is too. I lived in both the city and country in Germany and the farms in the city are quite small. Most could sustain their families and maybe enough to sell at markets but that is about it.

No but seriously Chloe In the Snow is a terrible book. After reading it I thought Citrus Lane was fucking with me for sending it. I really hope DH gets his singing voice on for this gem of a tale 'cause its going to need an a cappella orchestra to become interesting.
@elllaf I'm sure this won't be super unpopular but I despise plastic toys. They're all crap and they're ugly. I don't want them in my house. MIL bought the step and play piano jumper thing. It takes up 1/4 of my living room and it's not even worth $40 let alone the $130+ she spent.
I couldn't agree more!!!!! I'm already wondering how I'm going to deal with birthdays and random gifts throughout the year. Is it okay to have birthday registries??

I always have an amazon wish list up to date for my family and the ILs. So far they've been great about gifting
