I think more states should jump on board with Oregon and make it illegal to smoke in cars with young children. I cant tell you how many times I have seen parents smoking in vehicles with their little babies/young children in the backseat with the smoke blowing back into their face, or worse, smoking with the windows rolled up. It's a huge pet peeve.
That sounds like a fabulous law! Those poor children didn't choose to smoke so don't make them inhale it!
Stemming off of this, if you're a parent with young children (I'd say12 and younger),I don't think you should smoke, period. Even if you're not doing it in front of them, that smell lingers and they learn about badhabits and poor health choices.
Late to the game and pretty tame. My opinion is that old siggy challenge pics should be updated if they are not the current challenge. Not that they aren't great!

I completely disagree with this new trend of being proud of being fat. I do not think everyone should aspire to be model thin, but achieving a healthy weight should be a goal especially for young people. I am all for real curves, but there is a big difference between morbidly obese and curvy.
On a personal note I have had an "overweight" or "obese" BMI multiple times as an adult but I still strive to live healthier. Maybe that's why it bothers me so much.
Where exactly is this new trend? I sure as hell don't see it.
I have seen it on Pinterest and Facebook. I certainly don't know what is in those peoples' hearts but I personally am unhappy when I am really overweight, and although I will never be a size 8 (cough @amjoy25 fat pants) I just can't see myself embracing an unhealthy version of myself.
I don't see that here at all. Maybe it is an NY thing. People are obsessed with being thin here.
I think it's funny the same post that says I love Taco Bell also talks about how it's not healthy to be overweight.
Anyway, I cloth diaper, and I'd say LO spends 1/3 of her day in just a diaper. When it's 88 degrees in the house in the middle of the day and I want to take my own clothes off, you bet I take hers off. Sweating a ton isn't good for her skin, and no one wants to be hot. If that means someone judges me for not dressing her, IDGAF.
I LOVE the Olympics! I believe I cried at the Olympian mom commercials last time.
George Clooney will always be Hot! Yummo
Bravo @Nryan55 people need to take a realistic look at themselves. Thats why the ppl on honey boo boo disgust me, they are the epitome of what's wrong with promoting an unhealthy lifestyle and body image.
And here's mine. I must be missing a mom gene because this "mommy guilt" I heard about-- I don't have it. I love my job(internist), it's so fulfilling, fun, challenging and I'm making a difference in ppl lives. I didn't even cry when I left baby for the first time. Sometimes it's a relief to go to work because at work at least my day is somewhat predictable. At home I just have no idea how the day will go and it feels like pure chaos. I don't think I'm cut out for sahm, although I'm sah 50% of the time because I work 7 on 7 off. Love my schedule. No guilt. Is that terrible?? ( edit: to clarify, my uo is that there's nothing wrong with wanting to go to work and not tending to your child all day)
I agree there needs to be a bigger variety of princesses. In college I wrote a paper on Disney Princesses and how their body proportions do not exist in real life.
lol it's day one. We will see how long I can take it. It's gotta be better for me than the pulled pork, cheese omelette topped with guac I made a few days ago.
I miss Taco Hell's Chili Cheese Burritos. They were so good!
I haven't seen the new heavy trend y'all are referring to.
My UO (at least to DH and his fam and other country folk): I don't understand how anyone could be happy living in BFE. It's one thing if you live on the outskirts of a town that has a mall, Starbucks, decent grocery stores, etc. that you could get to fairly quickly. But I don't get why anyone would purposefully live so far away from civilization and only have access to shitty fast food restaurants, crappy grocery stores, and a pharmacy here and there. I mean...why would anyone want to live somewhere where you can't even have an effing pizza delivered or go to a movie at a movie theater without having to drive over an hour away?!?!? There is so much more to this world, and I truly don't understand why people purposefully shelter themselves in this way.
I hate the people that park their cars lined up at the bus stop, so their kids don't get cold waiting.
1. It's dangerous making the street basically a one way, and if it's icy a car accident death trap.
2. Be a parent tell you kid they can't wear shorts in 15 degree weather. Put some clothes on.
Leaving the house to fight bus stop traffic!!!!! Good morning ladies.
Excuse me? Where do you live?
We always walked to the bus stop that was either down the road (5-6 blocks) or down our driveway. Why would anyone drive to a bus stop? Help me understand that one please.
Thank you!!! I grew up in Montreal Canada, we walked to the bus. Dressed warm, etc. today it's cold out, I live in Arkansas now, people drive with kids to the bus stop if it's raining or cold or just because. Makes a cluster F of cars at the bus stop and you can't get out.
We live in Florida and people DO THIS. At the BUS STOP. It's like the kids are afraid to talk to each other.

How is this unpopular?
Uh, because 'Merica! And how we have to get rid of Big Government, and there are too many laws, and people will sue you over anything, and....and tea party....and...stuff...
Taco Bell is a meat/ bean shake in a tortilla. Ugh gross.
I love my breakfast shake and it's not about diet, but preference and speed. I put fresh ground flaxseed, yogurt, banana, berries and almond milk in it. Soo deelish. Can't stand the premixed chalky shakes though.
My UO: I hate that baby books are so dumbed down. A picture book is one thing but all those silly Boynton books that are little songs about tasks are not books IMO. Unless you don't know how to interact with your kid, story time should have some real substance to it. Even at this age. Eli loves when I read to him. But if it's an age appropriate deemed book- we are both left thinking: where is the rest of that story?
Re: George Clooney, he's okay. I think he's good-looking, sure. But have you guys seen the new Vanity Fair cover? I didn't even realize at first that Clooney was on there because hellooo, Idris Elba in a tux.
But excuse me for being off-topic. "Idris Elba is ridiculously hot and I would hit that like the hammer of Thor" can't be an unpopular opinion, can it?
I had to look him up (I knew who he was once I saw him but didn't know his name). He is one damn handsome fellow.
I think Taco Bell is gross. Also White Castle.
I like Jimmy Fallon, I think he is funny and has an adorable quality that is completely endearing. Maybe I'm old.

uuhh... i'm assuming you were talking about me? I do love taco bell, and I didn't say anything about not being healthy if you're overweight. I said something about shake diets sucking.
@comeongetdown - Sorry, I meant to say that the same thread (UO) talked about both, not the same post.

I grew up in a small Texas town just like this. 50 people were in my senior class. We had to drive about 45 minutes to get to a grocery store, mall, or movies when we first moved out there. If it was really hot that day, we couldn't get ice cream from the grocery store because it would melt before we got home (we even had one of those freezer bag things). I loved it growing up. We lived on a huge lot and I could ride my bike all over the place and it was so quiet.
I actually live about 5 miles from my hometown now, but the suburb I'm in has over 100,000 people. This area has grown like crazy the past 20 years and it's so great to have all of the amenities that we do now. I don't think I could live in another small town that is so far from everything again. I hate that my neighbors are literally on top of us, but I love that the pizza place is 1/2 a mile one way and 4 grocery stores are within 2 miles.
Taco Bell flour tortillas suck now. They get stuck to the paper all the time and taste like cardboard. I miss my mexi melt not being stuck to the paper.
I miss Taco Hell's Chili Cheese Burritos. They were so good!

We live in BFE on purpose. There is one fast food restaurant in our town, one crappy grocery store, 3 gas stations respectively, and the best pharmacy ever. A lot of people here raise cattle. We raise goats. I like being secluded, I don't have to deal with traffic, I have one neighbor I can see from my house (wish it was zero), it takes an hour to go to town and get all my groceries etc I don't mind I spend less. There is not much for entertainment, but we like to cook out, go fishing, walk in the woods, and we love on a lake so most of our entertainment is free. I've lived in cities and towns and didn't like the cramped together feeling, it's not for me but that's ok plenty of people like it. I'd rather live here with my goats, chickens, and big ass garden.
I mean...somebody has to feed the world, amiright? Can't farm in the city.
This. I live in a small town that would be BFE if it weren't for some area colleges. We are surrounded by farms and I love it. When we want pork roast for dinner we take a 15 min drive to the pig farm. There's an apple orchard down the road, a berry farm that also sells fresh eggs 5 mins away. It's heavenly!
I love Taco Bell, but if you ever visit Washington, give Taco Time a whirl. Yuuuuuuum!
I'm not thin, and happy! I'd probably be healthier/prettier 20lbs less, but IDGAF. Dieting is for suckers. I #eatallthethings (that my baby allows me to).
I love the FB videos. Mine made me cry...one of my most liked posts was when my dog was cancer-free...his cancer came back 1 week later and he died soon after.
I love CD butts. Sposies, not so much. I also love nekky baby pics. I promised myself I'd take more of this baby since I don't have enough of my girl. She was the chubbiest chub chub that ever chubbed, but I was being modest with her pictures and I regret it!
My UO is that I love the suburbs. City is way too busy, rural doesn't have enough things to do! I'm 5 mins from grocery store, 10 mins from mall, have enough space to grow my own veggies and chickens but don't cause I'm lazy (my neighbors/friends do and share!).
@quartermisses: I already sing to my kid and make up silly rhymes. I even sing some of the real books I read to him. #hateboynton
Be careful. The things you hate most they will love. It's a law.
I feel this passionately about this because someone gifted me the snuggle puppy book. I'm fair and will give it equal reading time along with all other books- and he does think it's pretty funny. I still hate that type of baby culture. Now give me a good ole fashioned Richard scarry simple book and I'm all over that.
I love RPGs. Skyrim kicks ass. I wish I paid for Xbox Live so I could get the expansions but I'm cheap. I still remember the first time I played The Elder Scrolls. I played one day, got scurred trying to escape the prison because of the zombie, didn't play for eh, a few days to a week, then I conquered my fear and shut the doors to Oblivion! MUAUAHAHAHAH

The only drawback is finding reliable internet service that isn't slower than dial up and doesn't put a data cap on you usage.
A rather tame one but probably unpopular nontheless. I don't think pigtails are cute, at all. I also dislike bangs although I do understand the practically behind them. I just think little girls are much cuter without pigtails or bangs.
Shake diets aren't for the weak @quartermisses. You have to have willpower and stamina; because you WILL be hungry ALL the time. However, if you stick to it, you can lose the weight you need to. Case in point, MANY of the patients I see...and they may not keep it ALL off, but they keep the majority of it off because they need to for their health. Losing weight to keep yourself off of insulin is a huge deal to people; they aren't looking to fit into my fat jeans (wink, wink @NRyan55), but to simply be able to walk, not give themselves shots and be around for their next bday.
...Obviously, #imdoingitwrong because I'm not on insulin and am doing a shake diet to fit back into my normal jeans. Also, Slim Fast and other commercial shakes are FULL of sugar and will not make you lose weight, like protein/low carb shakes.
Lastly, I would love to make an omelet in the mornings, and a salad for lunch, and a healthy dinner, but #aintnobodygottimeforthat.
Oh wait I actually thought of a real unpopular one! I think periods are no big deal. Mine came back with a vengeance yesterday, but I just change a tampon like every two hours. What's the problem?
Now PP bleeding, that sucked because you had to use pads which are disgusting!
Tampons are great unless you clot. Sometimes those suckers slip right through. So then you have to wear a pad to JIC. I also get horrible painful cramps and run anemic. Periods are a serious PIA for me.
