Did we change to do UOs on Wednesdays? Or, am I just loosing it because they canceled school and closed the studio again today?
My UO is that all my parent friends are super excited about the snow days, and I rolled my eyes about it.
Whoops. I totally thought it was Thursday when I woke up this morning!
I want to play anyways!
I bite my tongue the other day, but Fresh ground peanut butter is gross! Granted I didn't make it at home, but the thing at whole foods.
Another food one, I don't like patty formed meat. Especially hamburgers!
Omg, you go sit over there with @TJ1979 in the Wrong About Food Corner.
making bread is so much fun! I just need some good loaf pans (sandwich bread). Who would've guessed the store would only have ONE?
I agree. I used to be afraid of yeast risen doughs, but then when DS was MSPI, I started baking bread to control the ingredients. Now I'm in love!
my mixer has this recipe for "rapid rise dough"…no waiting for the yeast to get bubbly, adding wet to dry ingredients, or letting the dough double in size while it rises. I'm doing that one this morning. I hope it's good

I love the smell of baking bread. Not a fan of making it though. In all honesty, I haven't made it since I was about 10, so maybe I should give it another go.

I always wanted to try fresh peanut butter from the store, but it freaks me out that it's self serve and I'm not sure what kind of germs are there or if someone has stuck their finger in it.
I'm not a fan of the Olympics. I doubt I'll watch any of it.
I'm too much of a bread snob to think that I make good bread. I want to have a goto family loaf though. And a good whole grain pizza dough. DH makes really good pizza and we're always buying the dough, which seems so silly.
Oh and I'll join @YellowLily2013 and say that I don't like peanut butter. I don't really like nutty things at all. I use A LOT of them in my bakery because my customers like them and I'm not baking for myself. I'm mildly allergic to walnuts, which might have something to do with my nut dislike, but it took me years to figure that out because I ate them so rarely.
LLOL, I don't think I make very good bread either, but it's better than most grocery store bread. We don't have ANY bakeries around here that make a good crusty bread. I make mine in a Dutch oven and it comes out pretty well, but I can't get a nice holey crumb like I would prefer.
I have a pretty good pizza dough recipe, if you're interested. Once I could eat cheese again, I started obsessing over homemade pizza. Mine's not perfect, but it's already better than all of the pizza joints in the area I make a thin crust NY style.

What???!!!???? I don't get this. I'm not a sports fan in general, but I love the Olympics.
Probably not a UO here, but I can't stand Velveeta cheese. Just the sight of it makes me want to hurl. Real food should not move or smell like that.
I feel like there is an over emphasis on teachers incorporating technology in the classroom. Not everything needs to be technology driven, and kids don't need to be handling it for every single lesson for effective teaching to happen.
Plus, the cost for getting that technology and training can be rather high. And by the time a piece of technology is incorporated district wide, it's probably already obsolete. Like smart boards. DH's district never even finished getting them into every classroom, and they're already obsolete because of iPads.

I get excited because DH is a teacher, so that means he gets to stay home too. Which means I'm not completely on my own all day.
I loved my CS and will be looking forward to scheduling my RCS when I get pregnant again.
I have had nothing, but good experiences with all 3 of my c-sections. To those that ask if I feel like I "missed out" I laugh. I don't think of 30+ hours of labor as "missing out".
@Mapleme, I love sourdough, too! I have this starter that I had been neglecting for a good eight months. I just brought it back to life a couple of weeks ago, but I have yet to make anything with it, haha. I actually added it into pastries and stuff more than bread when I was using it regularly. Something about it makes things so moist! Yum.
I don't really follow all of the directions to a T. I usually just throw it all into a ziploc bag and form it into balls when I'm ready to let it come to room temp for pizza. I also sometimes cheat and make it in the morning and let it rise on the counter all day, punching it down a time or two. Then I form it into balls an hour or two before I'm ready to make pizza. I think it tastes as good or better than when you put it in the fridge, actually. The olive oil's optional, but I always use it.

I'm scared of the novacaine they give you for filling teeth…I think I would be so scared of a CS

Omg.... I LOVE HOMEMADE BREAD!!! I'm not amazing at it but getting better and it's just fun. Cooking and baking are fun to me and I'm glad I get up to do it more.
I use the Peter reinhart pizza dough recipe. I love that it used olive oil, it makes the dough much more workable. We roll it thinner than the web page says. And if you prebake the crust for a few minutes you can get it crispy! If That's your thing.
This is my frugalness. But I think paying for cable is absolutely absurd! It's hella expensive and there's not that much worth watching. TV is brain numbing. And basic free channels cover the news and such.
Although, I'm pissed. You can no longer watch stuff on abc family .com without logging into your cable provider. LAME! If all networks go this way I'm going to not watch anything.
eta: I'm pro watching the free stuff in moderation. Just reg TV people get pulled in and can't turn it off for HOURS!! (Well that's how I am.)

Me too.
Last time I actually made it to my surgery date, and it was actually kind of fun. The nurses, anesthesiologist, and doctor where joking around. I have a really high pain tolerance too. My nurse was the same for all three kids. She chuckled when they were warning me about the spinal.

Uhhh. I really need 3 fillings. I freaking hate the dentist and its sucks now that I have to pay my own dentist bills. god being a kid was great.

I am so angry they did that. I had to switch back to Netflix streaming.

I was in labor for only 2-3 hours before it was decided I needed an emergency C-section. I'm cool with never experiencing that again.
I kind of actually like labor. I mean the pain's not fun, but I like all the anticipation of birth. And the wondering when baby will be born. Of course I might feel differently if I'd had complications or if G's labor had been longer than 4 hours. I guess it's all in your perspective.
@Mapleme, sound like your H already has his own style, but in case you're interested, I bake mine on a pizza stone. I preheat it at 550 for at least 45 minutes to an hour before making the pizza. Then I stretch the dough by hand as thin as it will go and top it on a pizza peel. I bake at 550 for 3 min and then turn the broiler on high and broil for 3-4 min. It gets crusty and charred and soooooo good

I'm terrified of the epidural.....though with ds2's birth my asking for one an hour after they started giving me pitocin to speed up the frequency of my contractions caused them to check me and they discovered I had gone from 4 to 10 really fast. Dh almost missed his son's birth for having stepped out to eat.
The worst part of filling teeth is the sound of the drill.....give me headphones please (after numbing me that is)

Yeah, until I got on DHs dental plan I had to pay for everything myself and it SUCKED. Fortunately my dentist is really cool and would let me pay in increments. I just had to have a crown replaced and in spite of the insurance I'm still paying a lot, so they let me spread it out over three months. If your dentist doesn't let you do that, I know that there are medical "credit cards" that work similarly with reasonable interest rates.
We can "afford" it... I just don't want to pay it. Ha! There's so many better more fun things to spend money on. Like diapers!! (Well cloth diapers!)
I had 10 laptops in my classroom. 2 of them worked, but I needed to use one to take attendance/record grades, which made it complicated for student use, and the other was connected to the smart board.
The computer and smart board were never properly synced, so it had to be realigned every time I used it. That got exhausting while pregnant, so I taught a few tall kids how to do it. The worst part was that they removed the chalkboard to install the smart board, so when it wouldn't work at all, I had to tape chart paper in front of it to teach.
I'm so thankful for extended maternity leave.
