I talked to my doctor for about quitting and he thought I was setting myself up to fail by going cold turkey he suggested minimizing my cigarette number every week...but I smoke like 8 cigarettes a day and that seems like a long time to continue smoking, 8 weeks. I feel like a slip is better than 8 weeks more of smoking.
As far as I'm concerned, you're doing great if it's been a cold turkey situation. I spent my life watching my mom try and quit a dozen times, and it is the hardest thing. Don't beat yourself up, just keep at it. Go you!
Good luck I know it's hard.... Try not to beat yourself up.... It's hard to imagine how years ago it was ok.. My mom smoked thru all 3 of her pregnancies....
Yes, people keep saying, oh it's really not a big deal, I smoked threw my pregnancy a bit, everything in moderation. I just feel like I can't do it in moderation, I know myself I will binge always.
I saw your title and got all geared up for some dominatrix stuff....my mind is in a dirty dirty place lately, lol.
I agree with you and PPs. One slip up while doing cold turkey is great! A lot better than smoking regularly for 8 weeks. Cold turkey is hard so don't be too hard on yourself... but hold on to this guilt feeling, it'll help you avoid other slips.

Now, would you be interested in some furry cuffs?
You're doing great! You can't beat yourself up. You've made the choice to quit for the health of you and your baby and you WILL get through it. Don't let one slip up make you think you can't do it, just use it as motivation to try that much harder. I quit a little over a year ago and I chewed gum nonstop for months and exercised to ease my stress. Find something to help you that works for you
I quit smoking cigarettes about 9 months ago & switched to the e-cigarette, but unfortunately still can't use that while pregnant so I understand what you're going through. I still crave it EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. It does get easier (it did the last time I was pregnant) and having a slip up doesn't make you a bad person. You can do this!
Don't be too hard on yourself! I quit cold turkey after 10 years of smoking last year it took from April until November/December for me to not give in to cravings, and it HURT like a bitch. I went from April to June doing great - then once I found out they were closing my branch at work, I would buy a pack, smoke one or two, and throw it away. Finally, something (probably due to illness/surgery) stuck. It was one of the hardest, if not the hardest thing I have ever done. You are doing awesome.

Awww... you're doing great. I quit cold turkey too and DH still smokes. It gets hard to smell it on him sometimes and I almost go out there and smoke one, but as PP have said, I just go eat something. Lol.

I think quitting is so so great, however the method be. I know cold turkey is hard, probably the hardest way. So you slipped, but you obviously feel guilty and admitted it. Right there shows you your determine to make it happen. Stay strong! You got this!
