@joules235 - at the risk of being called a SS for all my controversial posts today, I'm genuinely curious... I don't get the "gender" thing. Is this on the chance they are LGBT?
I will definitely read this. I just didn't quite jump straight to that, since only about 4% of Americans identify themselves as LGBT. But I'm glad the board doesn't just "assume" anything. Your baby will be who s/he is going to be. I know your children will appreciate you for loving them for who they are.
To clarify, it isn't an "LGBT" "thing" - if anything, it would be a "T" thing. And I don't think there is anything wrong with clarifying peoples' understanding of vocabulary. I, for one, am getting tired of the gender binary and the idea that it is as clear and simple as male vs. female. Too many boxes, too many labels, too much limiting of everyone and everything.
The "LGB" part of that relates to whom you are sexually/romantically attracted - your own gender is a part of that, but doesn't determine that.
"T" is where your own gender identification would play a role.
@Rachel5130 I live in Florida haha I've never seen them like that before until 3yrs ago and then again when I moved to my current town. Lol. I'll try to google one for you to see. Their fangs are such pretty colors but they're evil. I'll also google a picture of the one in my kitchen.
Oh holy goodness, I live in FL, too. It's a wolf spider!? Those bad boys are freaking huge and ugly. We had one the size of my palm in the back yard once. I opened our sun umbrella and looked up...I thought it was a baby crab over my head at first...then I dropped the umbrella and ran like a crazy person as soon as I realized what it was. We now have an exterminator spray inside the house and the entire yard once a month. Spiders and roaches are no joke down here. Nasty little insects.
Amen SISTER! You know how Florida is haha.
We keep talking about moving to TN, and as crappy as my county tends to be, I think I'll cry when and if I ever leave. Lol.
I grew up in VA so it was a HUGE adjustment moving here with all the critters. I still freak out every time a lizard comes in the house (which is like once a week lol). Tennessee is beautiful, though. I've visited there a lot.
Yeah haha thats Florida! Lizards I welcome, they eat ants and what not. Snakes aren't too bad, I've been nose to nose with pygmy rattlers more times than I'd care to of been and almost bit once. And diamon back rattlers. But most snakes ain't too bad. Gators don't bother me, I've been swimming in lakes with them since I was about 11/12. But they're extra attracted to pregnant women so DH said no more lakes til baby is here haha. Frogs aren't too bad either. Gross, but better than spiders.
Also, I love TN it's gorgeous. But moving will be an adjustment lol.

Uhm you are much braver than I. We were taking a family walk when we saw a 6ish foot one of these run across the road. I nearly peed my pants. I also hate snakes.
Omg! That would be awesome to see up close! Though, I'd probably try to fees it and take it home!
I also have jumped the gun on the February Siggy challenge. It's going to be one of two and my picture is the same for both so I posted early...
Cute picture - just one suggested correction (since the English teacher in me cannot resist) - it should be "DH and me"...
LOL...I and me are hard to get straight! This was always one of my biggest grammar struggles, but now I always think of it as this: if you're talking about just yourself, which would you use? That helps me decide I or me...such as I bridge jumping, me bridge jumping. And I agree...cute pic! I don't think I could bridge jump.
@MommyP710 It is one of those word choice situations that is like fingernails on a chalkboard. In this case, it's really a sentence fragment, as if you are seeing "This is..... jumping off a bridge" - you'd never say "This is I jumping off a bridge," because you are the object in the sentence, not subject.
It is always tricky when it isn't just the singular person in the sentence, so I have always told my students (at least back when I was a classroom teacher) to take away the other person and just concentrate on yourself - which is easy for teens to do anyway.

This has me freaking out so badly right now!!! I was feeling like a badass because spiders don't really phase me at all, but I have an abhorrence of alligators and crocodiles. They just look like pure evil to me. You win the right to make DH deal with the spiders!
I am a pretty open person and can talk about pretty much anything to anybody, but for some reason talking/reading about discharge skeeves me out. Not flaming anyone here cause you go ahead and talk about what you need to talk about, but, just, ew.
Whats to get? HS chem teacher turned meth cooker/drug pin = extreme amounts of dark humor I simply cannot condone Breaking Bad hate! That is one of the greatest shows ever!!
Does it pick up after the first season? That's as far as DH and I got--while there were definitely some funny moments, the whole setup was just too depressing and I didn't care that much about the characters. This is probably evil of me, but I was rooting for the wife to be killed off pretty early on...

DH doesn't like spiders either. Haha. My BIL catches and releases the spiders. Haven't had any poisonous snakes around lately *knocks on wood*, so haven't had to deal with them, or any regular snakes which we would probably argue over who's gonna catch it, the Alligators haven't been cold enough to wind up in my yard with the weathet lately, nor have I been to the lake swimming since August to see them as a hindrance, and I'm only two blocks from a lake, and 4 from another, and the Gators stay by the water but they're fun to go count at night. So yeah, DH and I don't mind many things, but spiders we mind. Haha. Hell, my kids even love lizards and what not. And think Gators are cool.
@Mommy23Munchkins No, I'm in NC. So not a whole lot of chance to run into gators, which makes my fear even that much more irrational. But I love checking out all the critters that come to call when I'm gardening. My typical response when I come across a big spider or snake is to run for a camera. One day I lucked out and caught an alligator snapping turtle wandering through the drainage creek at the back of our yard. Yeah, DH thinks I'm a little weird...
And while food is on topic- I Think the clear syrup is way better than maple
Clear syrup? CLEAR? That's a thing?!
yes, and it is yummy
I have never in my life seen anyone use Karo on pancakes. We use it in other cooking and stuff. Interesting.
:-&
I agree I've never thought of using Karo syrup for pancakes, but my sisters son's pediatrician recommended Karo Syrup for constipation for her son when he was constipated and still being breast fed.

Well if you didn't get into the first season you probaly wont like the the others. DH and I couldn't stop watching it! We still haven't seen the final season though and we are always on spoiler alert.
DH and I don't like it either. We watched the whole first season and it just isn't for us. We didn't even make it past the pilot. Have better things to do, better shows to watch in the little free time I actually have.
My UO is that I hate this thread because I can never think of a good UO but I'm sure I have tons of them.
I do love reading everyone else's.
Re the spiders: my sister is also in Florida and I have seen coaster size spiders at her house. Vacuum is her preferred method of spider extraction. For part of our honeymoon we stayed in an open air cabin/tree house in Costa Rica and there was a spider inside one night the size of a CD - seriously. Falling asleep was very difficult that night. I can handle Ohio spiders but those 'tropical' spiders are something else.
@Mommy23Munchkins Why I opened those links I have no idea and excuse my mouth but f*uck that I hate spiders. I give you serious credit for staying in the house with that thing

I bet you're one of those people who hate the word moist.
Nah, doesn't bother me. I can talk all about poop, too. That doesn't bother me either. Maybe it's just the word discharge? I don't know.
I'm probably going to be flamed for this, but here goes... This time I'll start with the backstory.
2009- DH was deployed and my then bestie who is ten years older than me was training to be a doula. She identifies as a granola person when she's on all these message boards that she frequents that is for cosleeping, BFing, cloth diapering, attachment parenting, positive discipline, nonvaxing, anti circle, etc mothers, but I'm the only one who knows that she FFed 3 of her 4 kids, her kids are vaxed, has a son that no one else knows about who lives with his father, and spanks occasionally. None of this have I revealed to our mutual friends.
I was worried about being alone during birth and I have a tendency to hold my breath while pushing so I asked her to be my coach. She was there and so was my MIL. MIL was a great help, kept me on track, stood behind my decisions, and held my leg. I had her cut the cord. My friend... Stayed down at the end crying and blubbering about what a beautiful moment it was when he crowned. It was awkward...
She knew that we were having DS circ'd from the beginning. She said that it was our decision. Here lately her comments on a Facebook board have been coming across my screen and she's on there saying that people who FF are uninformed, that circing is only done by stupid people, and a bunch of other shit that is highly offensive. Basically FFing and circing are child abuse... She posts anti religion rants (I personally am agnostic) and is pro choice. When I called her out in private message about the things she's been saying she told me that I was horrible for depriving my DS of the benefits provided by foreskin and that she stands by the things she's been saying. Even when I point out that her son is circ'd she throws up the "I'm better informed now. I'm an intactivist". I threw out there that I think its bull crap to think that a woman can make the choice between life and death for her baby, yet cant cut off an unnecessary piece of skin without her throwing a tantrum and we got into a huge argument about it.
So this brings me to my point... I hate these new made up terms for being passionate about things. Some people can't just feel like BFing works well for them, they have to shove it down people's throats and call themselves lactivists. Don't cut your sons penis, it will offend the intactivists! Adding -activists to a word shows people just how effing serious you are and how strongly you feel... While you're "Mom shaming" people to death. I hate it.

I agree with this. I also think it sounds like your friend truly regrets her decisions and can't move past them/forgive herself, so she is over compensating. I vote hide her on your feed and move on. Arguing with people like that isn't worth it. Sorry you have to deal with that!
@joules235, that's why it's my UO . I've really tried to get into and while at a high level I fully agree Breaking Bad is a very well written show, it just makes me depressed every time I watch it. So I just say no to depressing shows.
I got another one. If it's more than a sentence or two I don't like texting! I get mad when someone ignores my call and then sends me a 4 page text. Seriously?! Pick up the phone.

I'm the opposite. Don't leave me a voicemail I will never listen to it. I just delete it. I assume you are saying "hey it's me call me back." If it's more important and you need a fast answer send a text. I will answer much more quickly.

I hate when people say "preggo" instead of pregnant. It reminds me of high school, and I hated the term back then too! Ugh.
Also I don't like when women wear leggings with a shirt that is too short (i.e doesn't cover the crotch). No one wants to see your camel toe.
