My UO: I don't like thin mints. I don't like mint and chocolate together. Ick!

Chocolate and mint are fine in varieties like Andes mints, or Mint Oreo Blizzard but Thin Mint cookies... NO THANK YOU! ICK!
Now ironically I do love the Oreo mint creme cookies. Not the Minto Oreo but the one dipped in chocolate. But can't stand thin mints... I'm just weird I guess

This is more of a rant than an UO but Facebook photo tagging. I have this one gal I went to HS with who 1)isn't that attractive (yes I'm being mean) 2) doesn't work & 3) uploads pics ALL OF THE TIME. Not just pics but selfies! We are 35-36 years old for cripes sake- too old to do the same shit that my 14yr daughter does. I don't want to look at you that much. I don't need an ego boost every couple of hours because your photos are flooding my news feed. And you tag yourself in your own pictures, WHY?? To flood my news feed more?

BTW and for the record: every photo you take with your phone camera doesn't need to be uploaded somewhere...

So attractive people are allowed to take selfies?

    @brighteyes112
Good point. NO! Enough with the selfies! The only exception to this is Bump pictures or maybe outfit picd that you're sending someone not posting to social media. It makes people seem so vain and narcissistic to have dozens of selfies posted

  • My UO: I think people get too worked about the difference between gender and sex.  I get there is a difference, I know it's important, but an online board when people want to know what's between baby's leg, eh.  Maybe I just don't care enough about educating people that I don't know...I just don't see getting as worked up as some people get.  I saw that having both gay and transgender friends, so I know that the difference is distinct and important.

Also,  Nutella is awesome and you ladies who don't like it are crazy. I still like you, but now I like with you a hint of hestation thrown in because if you don't like Nutella, what the hell else is wrong with you?

@lilygrace48  I don't feel like it's even been brought up lately - have I missed it?  It was a big deal a while back, but I don't feel like it's been quite that prominent a topic in a while.

  • Breakfast foods (waffles, pancakes, etc) are better for dinner. Pizza is the best breakfast.

Oh, IHOP sucks. Give me a Waffle House or a good local diner any day.
I don't really like breakfast foods. I kinda consider eating breakfast daily an obligation (unless bacon or cinnamon rolls are involved which sadly they aren't nearly often enough). Also I am not really too much of a sweets or chocolate person unless it is the right thing. Give me savory or salty things anyday....steaks, potatoes, chinese food, pot roast....yum

  • @Kbellizio3 - It's still in my kitchen, in the samw corner. I had to get up and check. He hasn't moved from his spot, just changed positions. I want to kill it but I can't get that close. I'm waiting for my BIL to wake up, so he can put it outside, and by outside I meam he needs to take it down the road somewhere so it doesn't find its way back. Its not welcome here!

@mommy23munchkins Can you put a glass over it? I do that to keep it in place until DH comes home.

@LilNunz1 I can't do that because it is in the corner of the ceiling, otherwise that would be a great idea. But also, I don't have a glass that will fit over it, I would need a bowl if I didn't want to injure it. Its THAT huge.
  • @jmar2011, I am sad for you. Tell your hubby to at least buy you some real syrup. In fact, I'm giving you homework. Find some real syrup and try it. Sooooo yummy!

  • Lmao. Thanks ladies, but I would much rather use the BB Gun then a shotgun or burning my house down lol. Also, @joules235 DH takes his shop vac to work with him, unless he left one here? I'll look into that. Lol. My 4yo and 2yo are more rational than I am, they ran and got bug spray (We have always had bad issues with spiders, wood spiders, black widows, brown widows, brown recluse's, jumping spiders, crazy looking black spiders with white spots and bright teal fangs, or lime green fangs, the list goes on!) But I'd rather not be in the kitchen with it. And if I shoot it with the BB gun, my house is 95% concrete which means the metal BBs will ricochet and my boys won't listen to stay back because, well, they're boys! So its more dangerous than me avoiding the kitchen.

Wild turkeys fly, farm turkeys do not because they breed them for meat and so they are too heavy. Thank you, Wild Kratts.

This. DH comes home to many plastic cups placed strategically around the house a lot of times.

@flerlgirl I can almost bet that this spider could move a plastic cup. Haha. He can own my kitchen today. I'm okay with not having to look at him. Every time we look at it, it starts chewing! Nope, no way am I getting close.

Though kudos to you, @LilNunz1 and @joules235 for daring to get close enough to them to put cups on them and/or vacuum them up. Lol.

    ETA-spelling of simple words.

I would be dying. Warning... often the bug spray won't kill on impact, only making the spider angry. And you don't want an angry spider! I am pretty sure I would have called the police by now. If not them, then I'd be knocking on every neighbors door until I found a tall man who could help. ... Or burn the house down (but he would probably escape and be angry... then he would come find you for revenge....)

I did make quite a nice contraption once out of a box taped onto a broom. Allowed me to hit him in the corner... But I think that spider was probably about half an inch long...
  • @Rachel5130 I live in Florida haha I've never seen them like that before until 3yrs ago and then again when I moved to my current town. Lol. I'll try to google one for you to see. Their fangs are such pretty colors but they're evil. I'll also google a picture of the one in my kitchen.
  • @mommy23munchkins Whatever you do, don't post a picture! My nightmares are so vivid now!!
  • I posted links, not pictures. Don't forget that the beast is in MY kitchen. Lol. I can't wait to move up north where I hopefully won't have so many weird spider encounters. I can deal with snakes, frogs, lizards, gators, but keep the spiders far away!
  • My UO is that I'm tired of helping people and getting nothing in return. Is that wrong of me?

I do have a backbone and know how to say no, but I hate saying it. So when I asked, I usually say yes then get nothing. I don't help to get something in return, but I'm really tired of helping all these people and not even getting a thanks. I mean, I'm 22ish weeks pregnant. I have sciatica and I'm not rich-stop asking me to help you move or pay for shit!

On a food note, I don't like Girl Scout Cookies. I buy them to support my friends daughters troop, but I don't eat them.....

  • @joules235 I actually think I have a torch outside, if DH didn't take the keys to the trailer. Haha. But still, it requires getting pretty close to him and what if it jumps at me? If I even dare to run with as hard as walking is the past 3 days, I'll be hoapitalized for sure!

  • @Mommy23Munchkins I vote for calling a nice neighbors to help. I once had a giant spider in my kitchen at our old house. I made the mistake of stomping it, and it exploded into a million baby spiders. I kid you not. It was the stuff of horror movies.

    I am horrified by this!

Oh holy goodness, I live in FL, too. It's a wolf spider!? Those bad boys are freaking huge and ugly. We had one the size of my palm in the back yard once. I opened our sun umbrella and looked up...I thought it was a baby crab over my head at first...then I dropped the umbrella and ran like a crazy person as soon as I realized what it was. We now have an exterminator spray inside the house and the entire yard once a month. Spiders and roaches are no joke down here. Nasty little insects.

Amen SISTER! You know how Florida is haha.

We keep talking about moving to TN, and as crappy as my county tends to be, I think I'll cry when and if I ever leave. Lol.

@Kellyjayne look into CSA. Its a weekly box of produce from a local farm and you buy a subscription to it. It is usually a very reasonable price especially considering how much produce you get. I also have a bunch of info on container/limited space gardening if you are interested.
This isn't necessarily true, especially given the unpredictable nature of farming.  I have always found that the CSAs I have participated in have been more expensive than buying any produce - conventional or organic, commercial or from a farmers market.  And given that you are investing in a farm, you are investing in the potential profits of the growth as well as the potential losses.  It's a gamble - the first year I did a CSA almost caused me to never do one again, as we got an incredibly small amount of produce given the weather conditions that year.

I do CSAs b/c I believe in supporting local farmers, NOT because I'm going to get anything close to a "good deal" in produce value.\
