Re: Opinions of the Unpopular kind...

  • @angeleighhh can you tell me why you are ok with AEpony following you on IG? I am really curious as to why so many are ok with this?

Anyone else can answer as well. I just don't get it. So maybe you could she'd some light.

I am not try trying to turn this into another debate rant or pile on. You can pm if you would rather not say here.

  • FWIW, knowing that she was in a harness (that you can't really see in the pic) changes it for me.

This goes for me too. Generally I like you alinnjo and think you make good parenting decisions, so I was surprised by that picture. Thank you for clarifying that she was in a harness

  • I'm ok looking like a mom. Then I feel like people lower their standards of how they expect me to look ;)
My new favorite jeans are my high waisted skinnies from Gap. I've fully embraced the mom jeans because I need something to keep the muffin top contained.
I don't think high waisted always means mom jeans. FFTC: I switched to high waisted after my C-Section and never went back. You can't even tell how high they go. So much more flattering than a shelf and muffin top.
I probably need to go higher-waisted, but I'm railing against it for no good reason other than ego.

    @redneckmomma25

I didn't know who the user was at first.. and even knowing that its her doesn't bother me. Honestly? I don't really agree with what she did & I know she hurt a lot of people, including people from here that I am close with, but she never did anything to intentionally hurt me.

Also? I can't remember much of what happened during AEgate (mostly because my memory fucking sucks.)

Anyway, I know she is actually who she says she is and she has never done anything personal to attack me. I don't see why I wouldn't let her follow me.

  • I've been tempted to create an anonymous poll to figure out what percentage of the s12 babies are ff vs rf but I figured it would start drama. The purpose wouldn't be for calling out anyone, I feel like we area past that, I'm just so curious about it.

  • After last weeks Oreo talk, I bought a package of double stuff that had regular Oreo on one side and Golden on the other. Golden side definitely won. In fact, I threw most of them away because I didn't want to keep eating cookies I didn't like.

Also, I don't like Beyoncé. Her music does nothing for me, and I'm not at all star struck by her. Also, celebrities that act like she is God bug me. Anna Kendrick, I'm talking about you. The annoying sister from Downton says she asks herself "What Would Beyoncé Do?" Really?!

I looked for the cookie dough Oreos and could not find them.  Sad.

There was the harness you see in the picture. The ride attendant pressed it down to her legs and stomach. She wasn't going anywhere. It was a KIDDIE RIDE in the CHILDREN's area of the park. I didn't take her on an adult roller coaster that wasn't meant for children. Nor did I sneak her on a ride that was meant for older, taller children.

And FYI she went on every "roller coaster" there that she was physically able too. And loved it.
I wish I had enough guts to take Liam on rides like that. I am just way too nervous but I know he'd love it.

I also went to high-waisted almost everything after my c-section because things look so much better and feel better. I'd eventually like to not wear high-waisted almost everything but until the shelf is gone.. I don't see that happening.

  • Cookie dough Oreos? Oh my. That sounds amazing.

DS is still RF. It's a pain in the ass, but he'll continue to do so until at least two, if not longer.

  • I didn't change a thing about the way I dressed since becoming a mom, and I really see no reason to.

I still wear little VS bikinis, and I shopped at Loft, GAP, Banana Republic, J.Crew etc. before Hannah and that didn't change.  My body isn't what it used to be, but I still think I look alright.

I agree with @cheeseandrice ( I think it was her who said it).  I don't know why it matters.  There are hot button issues that I care about, but I wouldn't see the need to ask everyone what they did.  In fact, knowing upsets me more, so I'd rather not know.  I trust that people here are knowledgeable enough at this point and have made the decision that works best for them.

Me too.  I wear what I feel looks right on my body but I don't eliminate things just because I'm a mom.  I never dressed that scantily before though.  I rocked my string bikini at the beach 4 months after DD was born.  No shame.

I even posted an IG bikini selfie post-baby.  I worked my ass off to get back there.

Also, one pieces look weird on me.  I have a long torso and short legs.  It's like having a permanent wedgie.  I hope I bounce back from this baby as well as I did the first time.

  • I love leggings. Paired with a tunic sweater and pumps I think it is fine in a casual work environment.

Oh and..... any pal of aepony could never be a pal of mine. I seriously cannot understand how anyone could trust or accept someone who did what she did and I'll question your judgement and morals in a big way.
What she did was so messed up. Dude has issues.

edited for words - on serious amounts of buckleys for sinus infection. Shit works but breaks my brain.

  • My UO: I'm not a fan of skinny jeans. I think they look ok on some people but not on myself and many body types. My hips are just too wide for them.

  • I'll wear leggings out. If I have a long shirt/dress or shirt/long cardigan & boots? I don't see what is wrong with that.

I wear them on casual Fridays now...mostly because my jeans won't fit at this point.

  • I wear all maternity pants because high waisted isn't high enough. They cut my fat mid section. Plus my legs are so much smaller in comparison. My legs and hips could do a size 12 my waist would be 16 to 18. So pants look ridiculous on me. So maternity pants are what I wear.
  • I used to think skinny jeans looked awful on me, and then I bought a couple of great pairs from GAP, and now I rarely wear anything else.

I always wear jeans with riding boots or flats though

Why are you so curious about it?

The statistics interest me, just curious where the board stands in comparison with other studies done on rf kids and the age they are ff

This might be my issue. I've never tried on a pair I like. My calves are also bigger bc I run and all skinny jeans I've tried just feel like plastic wrap.

  • I don't care about Mom's wearing bikini's/skimpy clothes a la a Jerry Springer episode, but I do think once you reach a certain age, kids or no kids, there are things that should be off limits.

Small swimsuits, low rise jeans, boobalicious tops, necklaces that say things like "Bootylicious", expressive shirts and character shirts (my sister is 47 and still has a Taz sweatshirt from 1995!), and leggings.

I know it's unpopular around these parts, but leggings are not pants.  If I'm ever the ruler of something, I'm eradicating them.  They're loungewear or workout wear.  NOT work attire.
Bootylicious should always be of limits. However, I think leggings are fine as pants around town, not at work.
