Let's talk names! If you had your baby today...

I have an Excel spreadsheet with the SSA rankings and such because I had too much time on my hands over the holidays and because, well, I have issues.

Anyway DH refuses to talk names with me until we have eliminated either the boys or girls list. We have a one syllable last name and if it were up just me right now the top choices are:

BOY: Grant Alan or Jonas Alan (Alan is DH's father's name)

GIRL: Anna Lorraine or Jemma Lorraine (Lorraine is my maternal grandmother's name)

I suspect DH is going to have very different ideas though once he is willing to discuss the matter.

We have been talking about names even before we began TTC mid last year. It took us months and going through hundreds, yes hundreds, of names to finally come up with names we both could agree on.

For a girl: Madeline Ann
For a boy: Mac Copper

When we have a second baby, if we have a girl that won't be a problem name wise because we have a few more names we both like and can agree on; however, if we have two boys we are in trouble. Lol

Boy: Dominic Aiden

Since with baby 1, we went with a more traditional name, hubby wanted the second to be more Latin because of his heritage.

@MrsLaLaBug My DH found it on a Gaelic names or maybe a Celtic names site somewhere. What do you think of it? I'm definitely not sold on it yet.

Girl names - Sage / Sienna/ or Brynn
Boys names - Brooks / Logan

I also love Ruby but my hubby won't go for it

My family hates most of them but we love them! We are the artsy hippies in the family

We will name our daughter Elizabeth Grace. Elizabeth is my middle name as well as my mom's and her grandma's. Grace was the name of my Cabbage Patch doll...

We're going to call her "Betty" after my mom's mom.

If we have a boy... we will probably have to get a divorce. We CANNOT agree on a boy's name yet. Which means this baby is probably a boy.

Shortly after sharing our news with my parents and brother, my brother had a dream that we named our baby Rainbow Sunshine and he was very upset. Obviously, we're now calling it Rainbow Sunshine until s/he is born.

I haven't gone much name searching yet, but Charlie is my top boy name. Likely, it would be Charles Aaron. Clara is my favorite girl's name. I really like Claire too. We'll see!

I teach a girl Teagan, but I also teach a girl Tyler and a girl Joey (not short for anything... Just Joey). If you like Teagan, go for it.

Rowan (boy or girl) *my husband and I both love this name and it's gaelic meaning "little red haired one".. and with my redhair and DH blonde hair we'll probably end up with a redhead so this name would fit perfectly!

My SO is Russian, and so I have caved in from the names I had picked when I was single and went for Russian names.

Girl: Nadezhda Rose (Nadya) - which means Hope in Russian.
Boy: Mikhail (Misha)

Russian names are neat in the sense that the long name is the "Adult" name that they take on when they become adults. The short versions are their "Child" name which they go by until they reach adulthood.

Good luck on the red hair! I am a redhead and DH is a reddish brown so I was hopeful but DS came out blond! No idea where that came from or if it will stay. Now I am hoping this one will be a redhead. :-)

Right now we have Jonathan Russell for a boy.... We like jonathon and Russell is after dh's BFF lol.

And Olivia Jean... Jean is my middle name as well as my moms and turns out to be MIL middle name and dh's grams first name too!!!
