Very late introduction... Hi

Re: Very late introduction... Hi

  • Welcome!  Congratulations on your pregnancy!  I am curious if pregnancy would actually help put you into remission (or extend it) for your Chron's.  The reason I ask is because I have juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, which is in the same family (both autoimmune diseases, hereditary- my dad has Chron's), and pregnancy helps my symptoms.  I hope that your symptoms stay dormant after the baby comes!!

My SIL did not find out she was pregnant until after she started 2nd tri.  She had just had DS2, got pregnant probably right before or after her six week checkup, and was not really looking for a period with such a little guy.  No DS and her DD are only 11 months apart, but she is an incredible mom to three kids so close in age :)

I have Crohns disease and many of the symptoms are fairly similar. I took a test back in October but it came up negative so I just forgot about it. My weight never stays steady so I can gain or loose 20+ pounds in about a weeks time.

The only reason I went to the Dr was because I started noticing a hard spot in my stomach about a week ago. Which also has happened before and thought I was going to have to go back on my meds or have surgery to remove it.
We can be Chron's buddies! It's hard to explain to people that you don't know if you are feeling baby because there is always crazy things feeling like they are moving in there. Happy you are in remission and off drugs, wish I was as lucky! My GI said pregnancy usually helps you go into remission, so hope we feel the best we can!

  • Welcome and congrats!!! I am glad that you have been in remission and hope that you feel awesome during the rest of the pregnancy. I had a total colectomy for ulcerative colitis in 2009 and now have a j-pouch.  This is my first pregnancy and I feel better being pregnant than not--crazy:)
