Nesting like a crazy lady

Yesterday it was super important that I started organizing the nursery closet RIGHT NOW. Today I cleaned and organized every surface of our bedroom, even the outsides of the windows.

I also was looking at the pics I took of my house after I was a crazy nesting lady while 8m pregnant with DD. Where did all this crap come from?! It really hit me how much kid stuff has crept into our house and slowly taken over the past 2 years.

Anyone else feel the need to clean, organize, and get rid of all the things already?

I feel the need looming, but it hasn't hit me! I'm bummed! I really want it to hit so I can get off my lazy butt and actually do it! I really want to. I do just want to throw everything away so I don't have to deal with looking through junk. Kudos to you!

Yes! And I'm super frustrated by it because the weather still sucks and I live 3 floors up in an apartment, so moving things out isn't the easiest of things right now. I'm really trying to rein myself in though. DH had a job interview Wednesday and if he gets the position, we'll be buying a house and moving. So I'm trying not to do too much that might be potentially wasted energy, but seeing all the unnecessary crap around here is driving me nuts!

I've been nesting but not at home... in my classroom lol! I've been cleaning and organizing everything. I cant nest in the nursery yet, we have no furniture.

Yes! I've been working on wiping walls, cleaning windows and cleaning carpets in our upstairs. The only thing that's been keeping me from going on an absolute cleaning frenzy is my ILs still have some of their stuff in our house (they built a new house and have some stuff stored here). I don't want to clean around that junk, so I'm trying to wait patiently for them to get it out.

I've already started packing and we aren't even sure where we are going to be moving. I get like this at night. Usually when it's really really late. I start with the bathroom and then before I know it I'm sitting on the floor making piles for different stuff.

Omg yes! I'm a cleaning machine! I've gotten rid of so much and organized all our closets. Dollar store has cheap baby hangers and storage boxes I have bought a ton. Next is the file/document organization.... Trying to get it done while I have the energy.

I feel like the nesting feeling comes and goes. One minute I am cleaning out a closet and the next I leave the job half done to watch a Law and Order marathon. Hoping I can follow through with these good intentions eventually.

I'm the EXACT same. My urges hit at night like at 1am. Last night I cleaned the whole bathroom at 1:30.

I think I need to just purchase a million baby hangers net time i'm in town. For some stupid reason I just keep buying them one bunch at a time... Oh and on the subject of nesting, yesterday I reaarranged my entire living room just to end up putting it back exactly like it was... ugh.

Yup! My DH has been using the room we plan on for the nursery and I am starting to clear it all out. I get waves of cleaning late at night.

yeah same here. Today I listed a ton of stuff for sale on my local FB BST - may as well make some $ off stuff we just have sitting around in boxes! hehe I also sold my left over OPKs and HPTs, so thats nice!

DH and I are starting painting the baby's room tonight too.

Yep!! I have been giving DH many Honey-do lists I have been trying to finish picking ps into colors, been going on deep cleaning missions and other general nesting type things. I feel like I can't stop!

I get urges, but refrain from it most of the time because I'm waiting for the walls to be painted before we move the furniture into the room. When that's done next week, I have a feeling I'll be on a nesting frenzy. I've already offloaded a bunch of old furniture that we don't use anymore in search of space.

I get my cleaning urges at night and haven't given into them since I know I need my sleep so I can wake up and be a semi normal person. I'm more in a "Chuck it" mood though. It's gotten so bad that I'm even considering chucking some of our books which has never happened since I love books.

We just bought a house and are slowly remodeling and moving stuff in. Well actually just the baby stuff is moved in and all put away. All I wanted was her room to be set up. DH thinks it's crazy. Now to find the same urge to set up the rest of the house.

So far since the new year I have taken one 36 gallon tote to goodwill and the tote is more than over flowing again. I cleaned out my jeep last night (complete with removing DS's car seat so I could wash it down) and today I cleaned out the nursery. I have the clothes DS outgrew in there but I can't do anything with those until May when we know if we need them or not. Other than that I just need to purge the kitchen junk and I'll be getting close. I told DH today I was feeling overwhelmed with chasing DS all day and still trying to keep the house standing (DH travels for work) all on my own and he informed me that was because nesting was kicking my ass. He's right. I still have time but I just don't feel like it.

I'm starting to think about nesting, does that count? LOL!

I want everything planned out, so I guess I'm mentally nesting. Registry, decisions on the nursery, getting all the classes I want to take scheduled, researching CD, and so on. I'm just not quite at the point where I'm needing it all physically done. We're slowly working on the nursery, one step at a time since we have some projects in there to do before we can paint, etc. Everything else is just getting it all figured out on paper for now. If I don't have it planned out first, I can't get anything done.

My son is going to be 5 in June, so I know how stuff just creeps its way in but never finds its way out. Ugh. I've been cleaning and organizing for a few days, but I think it's more because the movers are FINALLY delivering the rest of our household goods from our international move tomorrow! Hopefully this energy burst continues though! I love not being utterly exhausted.

Yes and I find myself getting SUPER annoyed that DH isn't at all feeling the urgency. Realistically I get that I have plenty of time to get these things done, but, not to sound super whiney, I want it done NOW!

Eh. I'm cleaning and preparing, but really no more than usual, and I wouldn't call it nesting. Nesting happens at a very specific time at the end of 3rd tri and is a hormonal response associated with the very earliest stages of pre-labor. I never had a nesting period with DS because I never started the labor process. And I probably won't have a nesting period with this one either, bc she's going to have to come a week or two early due to my cyst.

Our families are expanding. We need things to be a certain way in our homes in order to make room for the new additions. That's just basic housekeeping, not nesting.

Sorry, "nesting" is one of my pet peeves, along with "you're glowing," "I'm so hormonal," and "The [unborn, undeveloped, incapable of emotion] baby likes/dislikes such-and-such."

With a 2.5 year old, we have a lot of stuff and it's everywhere. Once the christmas stuff came down a couple weeks ago, the cleaning/organizing frenzy kicked in. I have the urge to purge! We are having some home improvements done right now.. so it's kinda crazy right now. So far I have collapsed our guest room, gotten rid of a lot of crap in there, sold the bedroom set and put everything else we are keeping in rubbermaid totes that will eventually go into storage. Beyond that, everything is on hold while we replace all of our upstairs doors with more soundproof ones, have the kids rooms and bathrooms painted.

I can't wait for all of that to be done so I can go back to cleaning/organizing.

I've been cleaning/organizing a lot but that's because our house is getting ready to be put on the market. I can't wait to be able to put together the nursery and all of the baby stuff! Since we're moving (and don't have a new home yet) we haven't really gotten anything... it makes me feel so unprepared (and have daily freakouts)!!

I'm right there with you - I completely cleaned out our office and guest room (future nursery) this past weekend! It's ridiculous the amount of junk that had accumulated in both of the rooms without my noticing it. I bought a mattress storage bag yesterday for our full size guest bed, so as soon as my husband puts the mattress into storage the room will be empty and ready to decorate for the nursery!

Yep. I spent this weekend organizing the home office and writing a long to-do list for both of us. Next, I'm moving on to the closets. It's funny, I have this crazy energy to tackle this stuff one day and then the next day, I'm so exhausted. But I try to savor the energy when I have it.

When DH was home for 2 weeks around Christmas he kept getting mad because I would be cleaning out the closet at like 11:30 when he wanted to go to bed. He kept asking me to just clean somewhere else if I couldn't go to bed yet but I *had* to get the closet cleaned out.

Not so much, but it's creeping up on me. Most of our house is pretty clean, but the bedroom, where we spend most of our time, is an absolute pigsty. I spent about an hour in there today, next stop is our big closet. Ugh. I have the desire to clean but not the actual motivation.

My husband, on the other hand, is ready to go! He's talking about cleaning the walls and baseboards, repainting, getting a carpet cleaner this weekend and cleaning all the bedroom floors. And cleaning out the guest room so I can start turning it into a nursery. Ok, let's go!

At first I felt kind of bad that he's all gung-ho and I'm not, but I do follow him around cleaning up his crap all the damn time, so I feel like it's balancing out. You wash the walls while I track down and throw away your 25 sprite cans and do the 4 loads of laundry you've accumulated THIS WEEKEND.

Totally nesting! Got the itch a couple weeks ago. Since then I've been on a tear around the house, today I cleaned out the bathroom cabinets and replaced the liners. This past weekend we set up the crib and rearranged our master bedroom furniture. I'm starting to make lists of things that need to be done in each room of the house.

I am so in nesting mode it's not even cute anymore. Even the hubs seems to have sympathy nesting. We are like machines right now. Every week something is getting moved, painted, thrown out, etc. Yesterday I cleaned my house top to bottom and made room in the linen closet for baby bath stuff. I even organized my cleaning supplies. Who am I??!! I am literally cleaning my cleaning supplies. I can't wait till the nursery furniture is delivered so we can really get this party started!
