oh my gosh, how strange! has there been any activity on her fb page? hmmm. maybe she screwed up your pics and is afraid to tell you. like she didn't have film in the camera or deleted them by accident (that almost happened to me once w/a photographer friend. she did delete, but was able to recover some of them).

Maybe this, but I would imaigne that because she's making side money with the photography that she relies heavily on word-of-mouth. I wouldn't think someone who uses that as their main marketing strategy would essentially "run off" with your pictures.

I didn't get to read through all the response/suggestions, but are you able to google her and find a public record for her? Usually you can get someone's home address just by googling. It would be totally stalkerish, but you could always stop by her home (during a "normal" hour)

Unless she's dead, it has been 2 months since your pictures, and you've tried to contact her every other way possible, it's time to figure out what the eff is going on.

I have to tell you, I spent probably an hour on the weekend trying to find your photographer- I was bored and it's such a mystery. I goggled the sh!t out of her, looked for obits, etc. Probably stuff you've already done- even trying to find out about the other people she shot.

Could you get someone to call or email incognito as a possible new client? See if you can get a response to that.

If the photographer isn't responding to emails or phone calls, go pound on her door and talk to her face to face. Keep contacting her EVERY day.

My wedding photographer was a huge flake. My wedding was in Sept. I didn't get my pictures back until Feb. 5 MONTHS!!! I didn't order a fancy package, all I wanted was the photos on disk and a proof book. She had all sorts of excuses even one being her grandmother died. What most likely happened was she over-booked herself and put me on the back burner due to my small order not bringing an that much cash for her wallet. I finally got my order and never used her again.

Lurking from 6-9 but this is what I am dealing with right now with my wedding photographer!!!! Our wedding was 9-18 and she still hasnt done our photobook! We have paid her in full (contract said we had to) and I keep calling and e-mailing them and it is constant excuses or lies! What did you end up doing to get your stuff? You can PM me if you dont want it on here but I need ideas. I am so scared I am not going to get my wedding pictures back.

This is exactly what I was thinking too. Get a friend to contact her pretending to be a new client. If she responds, you'll know she's dodging you for some reason. I would almost wonder if something happened to the pictures (like she accidentally screwed them up somehow) and that is why she isn't responding.

Even better - get someone to schedule a meeting, then you show up and can ask her face to face what happened to the pics.

instead of googling, just go to whitepages.com and look up her home address/phone number. It's totally stalkerish, but she has your pictures!

I went through this 2 years ago with wedding photographer. He dropped off face of the earth, & was screwing over a bunch of brides- think he ran into some financial trouble. I figured out where he lived & went to the house but they wouldn't answer the door. I called and called and his voice mailbox was always full so I couldn't leave messages. He didn't reply to emails. I actually saw him on the news because a bunch of brides were up in arms. I finally filed a complaint with the dept of consumer protection or whatever it's called in the county where his business resides and what do you know? We got our pics on a CD along with the rights to print them ourselves. Moral of the story- I only got results when I went & filed a complaint

My wedding photographer did this. They closed up shop, disconected all phones and deleted their business email and website. We had to go through the BBB to track them down and get our raw pics.

One of my best friends just went thru this too. Her wedding was in early October and she was promised her pictures by Thanksgiving since she wanted to order some for Christmas presents. She just got them back about a week ago - over 3 months after her wedding. She kept saying "they were on their way" - but they weren't. Eventually her mom called - and her pictures arrived within a week. GL! What a horrible situation to be in - especially when you are so excited to see them.

But I saw which pictures she took and I ordered some. I just didn't know what address to send the payment and I haven't heard back from her. She already had the pics online so her camera and online would be two places she would have the pics so she shouldn't have deleted them BOTH places.

the only thing i can think is that she is out of business. bc you said she was so cheap, it was likely illegal - no biggie for most people, right? who cares - she took your pics, you get them, she doesnt pay taxes, la dee da --- but if someone "told" on her or if for some odd reason she got caught? then its likely that she had to get the hell out of dodge, so to speak, and just shut all contact down completely.

i would pretend to be a new client. OR send me her stuff and i'll email her and compliment her and blah blah and chat photos with her and see whats going on

I hope what you have described didn't happened. She was very nice and pretty good for how much she was charging. I feel bad...there is one point I want to ninja kick her door in and there is another part of me that wants to sympathize with her problems. I will PM you the details. Just a thought, if she's by word of mouth and a whole bunch of people start contacting her out of the blue she's going to smell something rotten in denmark. So while I know bumpies love a good drama/mystery, I suggest most of us sit on our hands and let punk/hip etc. handle this.
