    Really what it boils down to is a marketing ploy.  It's not exactly enforcable...don't know why my panties get in such a twist about it.  Also, FTM here, and I reserve the right to change my mind on the second point.  Mostly kidding.



    That's all I really have to say about that.
    ::shrug:: If you find them so offensive, don't use them. As a person with bad balance who is on blood thinners, the less icey parking lot I have to cross, the better. I'm bruised enough already, I'll happily take the closest spot I can get. I'm hardly waving signs and starting petitions to get more of these spots, but I think they are thoughtful when stores have them.
    Oooh, this too.  As a naturally klutzy person... with a big bump... on ice, I'd like to get in to my destination as quickly as possible.  Times I've fallen in winters past, no big deal.  It's a bit more serious if I slip and fall now.
    I get REALLY pissed if someone who is not pregnant parks in one of those spots.  I literally went off on a guy during my last pregnancy for parking there.  He was sloppy and gross and did look like he was carrying a child, but obviously that couldn't be the case.  I don't always mind the extra walk if I can't get one of those spaces but I really do appreciate that they are there.

I get their emails, and when there's a good coupon online, I'll go through their sale and clearance stuff, or else I'll wait and combine the in-store coupons (like the 30 or 40% off) with clearance and sale items. I never even look if it's not on sale/clearance AND I have a coupon to use with it.

    If you don't have a card...there are still online sales, but cardholders get Bette deals. And, like I said, I NEVER sign up for store cards!

    On the expectant mothers parking topic, I once saw a middle-aged guy park his motorcycle in the expectant mothers parking at CVS. Douche. I almost said something to him...

    I couldn't agree more :) My friends usually throw a shower for each baby, and us ladies just like getting together to celebrate! The gifts we get are a lot less expensive for baby 2-whatever.

    Target clearance can be the BOMB, but it's hit or miss. But I'm devoted to finding the bargains, so I search the clearance racks every time I'm there. :) Yeah..I said "the bomb." 'Cause I'm 'bout it. ...someone stop me.

    Yep. Also got a tattoo the day I turned 18, and I forget it's there. I'm also not worried about what my old, Golden Girls-version self is going to think about it. Pretty colors in addition to sagging, flaking, wrinkly skin, I guess. 



    My friend's 8-year-old daughter asked me what mine is. I said it's supposed to look like a fairy. She told me "Oh, I thought it was a flying monkey." Which, really, is probably a better description. I blame my parents. This is what happens when you tell your rebellious child that you'll kick them out of the house if they get a tattoo.


    I've had to explain the one on my foot a few times. "It's a feather with birds flying off of hit" and the typical response is "ohhhhh those are birds" . Ouch.

    I use and abuse my Gap card. I scored a pair of Gap baby jeans for $2.78 the day after Christmas. I was pretty pleased with myself :)

    Dont know if this is much of a UO but I haven't changed my last name over to my husband's... it wasn't something I was looking forward to after we got married and I am being really lazy about going over to the social security office. One reason being is that the nearest one is not so near. Our daughter will get his last name and I am hoping I will find a burst of motivation to get it changed before she is out

    @JKBMA2014 - I was there for about 10 minutes tops when I went in person. Then I got it all done in one day rather than waiting for mail. Also, I'm not too comfortable mailing personal documents need to make that change. So much easier and quicker, not to mention safer, to take the hour or so and do it all in person, I think.

    Technically, according to the EEOC, pregnancy is considered a temporary disability. I am glad my rights are protected and that I have a place to park close to the store when I am waddling across the parking lot with my 3 y/o in tow. You don't like them? Don't use them.

    My UO is fluid, but here it is...

    I've heard many arguments for and against, and I have not yet been convinced that GMOs are necessarily bad for your health.

    Bad for farmers and the economy, maybe...but not sure about anything else.

    Yes this, too. I separated my pubic symphysis when I had DS. I had to use a walker to walk, yet I still couldn't get one. Try doing anything with a walker and an infant carrier, not happening. Even when DH was with us, he had to help us both.




    That's awful! I had SPD last time and I was able to get one, OB had to sign my stuff and I got one for 6 months.

    My UO: I think after a certain age, older people should have to take the over the road driving test more often.  Maybe every 3-5 years or so.  I see so many older people that should not be driving and are dangerous.  
    In high school I wrote a scholarship paper on creating a new law that says you have to take the drivers test over.  Behind the youngest age group, those over 65 are most likely to be injured, killed and cause accidents.

    I totally agree with this.  My insurance covered testing and then nothing after that.  So I was completely out of pocket.  Yet insurance will cover all kinds of other stupid crap.

    I totally agree with you, there is no concrete proof that GMO's are bad for your health.  Personally, I think it's absolute genius what they can do, the science behind it is mind boggling.  People are so effing quick to jump on something that they don't fully understand.

    We asked my OB and they said it wasn't up to them. :(   Funny story (well it wasn't funny at the time). We had to keep a plastic milk crate in our car for the first two months. DH would put it on the ground, I had to turn around backwards and lift my right foot onto the crate and he had to lift the rest of my body up so I was standing on the crate. Then he had to hold on to me and lower me backwards into the car and lift my legs and spin me to face forward. OMG I hope I don't separate this time. I have forgotten how hard life was for a while.

    Yeah, that was a TTGP habit. It was a thing when I posted there regularly that if your edit changed the substance of the post, you noted that.

    One of the biggest problems is that they do not yet have a good delivery system for pesticides.  They spray way more than they need and 90% of it goes into the soil and then into the water table.

    I think the whole thing is just too big. Honestly I think the real issue comes down to feeding too many mouths. But really, who knows.

    I'm monitoring a Public Utilities Commission meeting at work and the amount of people who are getting up & saying the most dramatic, stupid things about the smart meters in their homes is reedick.

    They're all from Marin County (with the exception of one woman who was from Lafayette, which is like the Marin County of the East Bay Area). Marin County is practically ground zero for the anti-vax movement.

    More junk science. Yay.
