Since it is officially Thursday... Let's hear 'em ladies!
1. Our church always throws a baby shower for each lady who is expecting. Only thing is they always schedule it right around the due date. I really don't want them to schedule mine that close to my due date, because I would rather know what I am getting and what I still need before LO gets here. My friend had her baby before her baby shower was even scheduled. I am scared that will happen to me. I want to nest and I can't because DH wants to wait and see what we are getting from the showers and then buy what ever else we are still needing. I want it all to be ready now, lol.
2. There is nothing wrong with wearing yoga pants as maternity pants. They are way cheaper and do the same thing. I've been wearing them since I discovered a sale on Black Friday.

Re: UO Thursday
Having said that- it's 100% not my business what others do with their daughters and piercing, but my daughter got hers done when she was 9 as she kept asking and I wasn't allowed to get mine done til I was 18.
This LO is a girl and she sure as hell won't be getting them til she asks and understands that it will hurt and that they need to be looked after.
I think id rather not have one as now I'm just all pregnant anxious about it.
Last night I checked my schedule and for the THIRD TIME IN A ROW the scheduler put patients in during my MW visit. I had told her to block off that time. And then I told my manager that I had told her to block off that time. And then my manager reminded her AGAIN to block off that time (because, obviously, this is a recurring issue).
AND SHE STILL SCHEDULED ME.
OK, this is more of a Bitchfest Monday but my UO is that I am frustrated to the point of not giving a flying eff. She (the scheduler) is going to be canceling my afternoon clinic (again!) and I am NOT going to feel guilty. Even though it means I'm making my patients do the same thing (reschedule an appointment) that I refuse to do.
Uuuuuuuggggghhhhhhh. So frustrated.
On a side note, it's only 7:45 and I don't go in until 2 and it's snowing. And I know it will stop. Lame to call out, right?
I'm having a girl and haven't decided what I'm going to do yet. If you want to then do it and if you don't then don't- it's simple. I don't need to judge anyone who gets it done for their LO
My mom left it up to me and i was to terrified to do it so i waited until i was 15 and always regretted it because i wanted yo wear the cute earrings like everyone else. Thats my real reason for wanting to do her ears so young. Vain i know!! =]
My UO is that i know showers are a gift but i wish they were having food i want to eat. They are serving sandwhiches...why can't it be hashbrowns and hamburger helper (thats all i crave these days!!) its silly but at least i get cake!
Although, I've had people freak out at me for drinking tap water while pregnant because all the chemicals are going to harm the baby. I roll my eyes at them.
We bottle and have a filtered pitcher. I want to get a filtered bottle that i can take with me.
And this is less because i am creating waste and more because i am spending a ton of money on water.
I like this solution! I'm a total hippie when it comes to most green things, and it makes me really upset to think about the waste that comes from plastic bottles. I'll buy a bottle if I'm out and need it, but I hate the thought of people having bottled water at home. Especially if they don't recycle! There are lots of ways to drink water at home without it being from the tap, if you really don't like the tap water.
Also, if my kids turn 16 and say they want a body piercing, if they can pay for it, then I fully intend on taking them to get one. I had seven by the time I was 18. They're removable and can eventually close up. I see no problem with it.
One of my friends has a toddler whose favorite show is currently Doc McStuffins. His birthday is coming up and even though it's his favorite show, his dad refuses to let him have a Doc McStuffins birthday party because it's "too girly" and people will make fun of him.
I think that's BULLSHIT. Your son doesn't give a crap if the show is too girly, he's three. He just knows he likes Doc and he likes her talking animals. It would be super easy to have a Doc McStuffins birthday party for him. I hate that he's not allowed to like what he likes because you don't consider is masculine enough.
I love tap water, mostly bc I like water just below room tempterature, I don't like ice or really cold water! I do drink from bottled water bc of conveinance and do reuse water bottles... I hate to create the garbage from the bottles but mostly I hate spending the money for them!
I think little girls with earrings are so cute, but I don't have to worry about when/if to pierce as I'm an all boy mom... well my 13 yr old wants to pierce his ears thankfully in GA you have to be 16 or have a parents permission. I don't mind if boys do but I think he needs to be older so 16 sounds about right...
My UO for the day: I think almost all diaper bags are ugly and a huge unnecessary expense. I'm not big on purses either so I just don't get it.. plus my dh is going to probably be the daytime care giver so I prefer plain/black bag to big floral, colorful, pastel, lime green (yuck!), etc...
@ariaamante143, I think they are called gauges! I 100% agree with you that they are gross...but even more than that, you are totally right that people are going to have a tough time taking you seriously in a business setting if you have some big a** hole in your face.
Also let me add to this...I think mohawks or faux-hawks on people older than college-age look absolutely ridiculous. I was at a luncheon yesterday that was bankers, lawyers and accountants and there was one guy in his 30's whose hairstyle was very obviously some sort of mohawk when he wasn't in a suit. He looked beyond ridiculous. You're in your 30's dude...get over it, you aren't a punk rocker!
As for tattoos, I hate face, neck, and hand tattoos. However, my bank teller and a pharmacist we visit both have full sleeves their hands up. I'm personally waiting until I get my dream job before I tattoo any where highly visible or impossible to keep covered, like my forearms.
oh, 3 of my 4 boys have participated in cub scouts, one is now doing boyscouts... it really is a wonderful organization and just like many things the overall common opinion/belief is scewed by several really poor decisions/actions, etc. by a few individuals. Anyway... My son loves the activities he is able to participate in and I have no issues with the religious theme of scouts.
I have a hard time saying no to the cookie sales... I end up buying way too much every year
Also? I hate goody bags that are full of useless, crappy toys. If people would put just a little bit of time into their planning, they could come up with some great favors that probably cost less and are actually put to use! I'd rather my kid come home with a decorated cookie than a bag o' crap that I'm just going to throw away.
