So our two girls have Italian names: Gabriella (Gabby) and Gianna. We are not Italian and the "G" was just coincidence.
We love the family name Julia for #3 but are getting pressured by everyone to use another G name. What about the Italian spelling Giulia?
Note: Hubby has been resistant as he thinks people will call her Julia Goolia like Drew Barrymore's nickname on some old movie lol. He was hoping to call her "Jules".
Appreciate your input!

All are welcome in my posts
we were pretty close to using juliet as a name. i prefer that quite a bit to julia. if you're set on the pronunciation of julia, though, i would do it with the J. the G just seems like using a G for the sake of continuity (but i'm never a fan of duggar-style same initial name choices, so that's the place from which my advice is coming.)
Just because it's not traditional to YOU does not mean it's non-traditional. It's very traditional in Italian.
I had a camper named Giulia so I actually have very fond memories of that name. There was also a "Julia" in the cabin, so Giulia had us call her "goo-lia". She had the type of personality that could pull it off.

I think you might've missed my second post but whatever. And yes, being not traditional TO ME has a lot of bearing on how appealing the name is TO ME.
The "right" way?
Please, tell me the "right" way for this one: Christene, Christine, Kristine, Kristene...
What about Ashley, Ashleigh, Ashlee?
Zach, Zac, Zack?
Bryan or Brian?
You must have a name that never gets misspelled. Mine has about 5 variations. Hope you don't think mine is the "wrong" one.

This.
I appreciate your honesty!!
OMG!!!!! That is soooo funny about your husband and Julia Goolia! When I named my daughter seven years ago, this is the exact argument that her father used! Only her friend's parents, who have seen the movie, will use this reference and they will be jerks. I think kids her age will really not have a clue about that reference. She has not had any teasing about her name so far....knock on wood....
Also, my vote is for Julia
