Does anyone else have an important/special event coming up around the time we are expecting our LOs that they'll likely be missing? My dad turns 60 ON my due date, and my mom would like to plan a surprise party for him. This is usually right up my alley in terms of the planning and whatnot, but she already knows that I'll be out of commission by then- I'm likely going to be a scheduled c/s prior to my due date b/c of complete previa. So, I could be either recently PP and recovering from a c/s, or if i get lucky and can try vaginal delivery again, potentially still pregnant. I'm not interested in trying to dress up and look nice and host at only a few weeks PP from a c/s, or bring my newborn around for everyone to grab at... also not interested in having my water break in front of friends and family from around the state.
So I'm just bummed that there's not much I can do to be there, unless my mom were to plan it extra early or later in the summer, but I wouldn't ask her to do that on my account. Does anyone else have something they'll be missing because it falls to close to your EDD?
Re: NBR: Important events around due date time
I also would like to take a professional licensing exam in April, but I will be 36 weeks pregnant then. Made it just past 37 weeks with DS. Not sure if I want to travel the hour from home at that far in my pregnancy. Also, this will be my last pregnancy, and I would rather spend it preparing for baby's arrival and just enjoying being pregnant rather than studying whenever I have a few minutes to myself. Blah, I'm really not sure what my decision will be on this one, and I need to decide by the end of this month.

It’s not that I don’t like you, it’s that I don’t know you. Stranger Danger.
We'll see what happens. The only "big" thing after that is a destination wedding in August that we may or may not be going to.

It's a BOY!
Due date is 5/28 and our wedding anniversary is 5/23. As much as I'd prefer for DS to have a birthday separate from our anniversary, I know we have no control over that! We'll just have to wait and see what happens...although, by that point, I'll probably just be ready to give birth and meet the little man!
Still no clue what to do! I really REALLY want to be in the wedding, but I also don't want to be a hindrance to my sister's special day. Hopefully you're able to figure out what works best for you!
Happy Endings
The hospitals here aren't allowed to schedule csection before 39w unless medically necessary. Some babies are just not ready earlier than that. -
With DD, DH was in a wedding in Chicago (2hour flight) 2 days before my csection. With this LO I'm planning on getting tickets to a show 4 days before my csection. I can always give them to a friend if I go in labor early,. My csections are planned at 38w because I can't go into labor. I tried to push my Ob to go to 39w for the LO's sake, but she won't do it, they don't want to risk going into labor.
I'm due May 2nd and my birthday is May 5th so we will see how the actually birthday ends up relative to mine but likely I will have just given birth shortly before and wont feel up to much for celebrating.
I will most likely miss my BFF"s stagette which is scheduled for 2 weeks after my due date.
I'm also bummed because at her wedding LO will probably only be 7-8 weeks old and I want to be able to party like a rock-star but that wont be possible as I am not leaving a baby that young overnight and can't be hammered if I have to come home and do night duty.
Oh and DH's sister wants him to come to her baby shower 6 hours away from home during the month of April. I'm really hesitant about it considering if I go into labor early and him not being here. I think I'd kill someone. Maybe his sister. Maybe him. (I have no history of early labor so I'd really doubt this will be an issue, just a very small concern.)
