I think this is a UO because I'm not a very progressive person? IDK.
We got a box of six Charlie Banana cloth diapers in the mail yesterday. When I ordered, I saw that one of them was bright pink and I figured I'd just sell it and it wouldn't be too hard to do, since it's brand new and all. When I said that and show DH the diaper (which is BRIGHT pink), he was like, "Why can't he wear it?" I was like, "Uh, I don't know, it's pink?" Now he's insisting that we keep it and that it's fine for Caleb to wear it. It's not that big a deal to me for boys to wear pink (I know pink polos especially are really in and fashionable for guys, whatever). But I still feel weird putting this very bright pink diaper on my boy. But I'll do it, I guess. I don't know.
I was a CJ major in college so I know all too well about how gender is a social construct yada yada yada but there are some things I cannot bear to put my boy in. The hot pink diaper would be one of them. ::sigh::
Right? I mean, I'm not, like, a huge traditionalist. I really do believe boys can do everything girls can and vice versa, and I don't think there's anything WRONG with him wearing a pink diaper. I wouldn't judge someone else putting their boy in it either. I just don't want to. :-??
I hate Elmo. I can't stand the way he talks in third person. I'm going to try my best to deter him from LO.
----------//
Me too!
Elmo is to Grover as Scrappy Doo is to Scooby Doo.
Me, three. DD1 doesn't watch much TV, but that is one I'm avoiding at all costs. She knows who Elmo is from books at daycare, and she asked to watch him once and I let her and she turned it off after just a minute and has never asked again. I think she thought he was annoying, too. I seriously counted that as a win.
Maybe this is more of a FFFC, but E already loves Elmo.
I've been making Nutribullet smoothies in the morning, so after I'm done feeding him I'll prop him sitting up in the Boppy and put on the PBS kids channel. It distracts him long enough so I can make my smoothie and keeps him in a less spit-up inducing position.
Anyway, when Elmo comes on Sesame Street the last few mornings he just lights up! Like full on crunched up smiling face and cooing and squealing. It's freaking adorable so by default I'm cool with Elmo.
Leggings are only appropriate when wearing a tunic style sweater or shirt or something long that covers your butt. I see too many people wearing them with shirts that hit at the waist and it is so not attractive.
Agreed.
This for sure! Legging IMO are suppose to be like tights. I do not want to see all that you shoved into your leggings.. not attractive AT ALL
Also I totally wear yoga pants to work. and I will wear PJ pants out to the store. My favorite happen to be a fleece hot pink with penguins on it. FLAME AWAY!
My UO: I hate drama llama posts. I have no idea how you have the time to go read through out boards to find them. I mean if you got that much free time on your hands more power to you. It is just not something that I would ever go searching to boards for [I also think this is going to be a very unpopular opinion and have prepared myself for flaming here as well]

I actually think I'd be okay with putting something bright pink on E. I'd have more of a problem with more of a baby pink, but maybe that's just because I generally hate pastels.

Every once in a while there will be a post on the CD board about whether a dipe is too girly. Many of the regs (including me!) have a "girly" diaper they have no issue putting on their boy. If anything, use it when you are hanging out at home and choose a different color when you are out.
Yeah, that's what we decided to do. For playtime at home I conceded that it didn't really matter.
It was cute because DH was like, "Well, we're going to have more kids... there will probably be a girl in there and then you're going to be mad at me for letting you sell the pink diaper. And you're going to have to go out and buy another one. Might as well save yourself the trouble." haha!

I only have time because DS uses me a pacifier so I spend most my day bored on the couch. I wish I had something better to do

happybride 276 Wish i could help! Virtual shopping trip? I often take my friends shopping and the only issue is that they end up buying more than they thought they were going to but they are happy
That would be so awesome. Right now I am too cheep to spend a lot of money on clothes I don't plan to wear long. So I have old navy sweaters and Ny and Co work pants. Super boring. Oh and I can't accessorize. Just don't get it.
I hate baby socks, so hell yes I'll send my son to daycare in a sleeper. He's a baby...he'll have plenty of time for wearing real clothes. Once it gets warmer and he doesn't need socks I'll be happy to put him in a onesie and pair of pants/shorts.
I agree. It is cold where I live and socks fall off all the time. Plus it seems when I do put LO in a onesie and pants to go out that is when she has explosive poops.
I am a PE teacher. I wear yoga pants/sweat pants/ work out clothes to work every day. Not pajamas!
@hbirdie I wouldn't let my son wear bright pink either. But, fwiw, I think cloth diapering is pretty progressive. Look at you, reducing waste and stuff. Lol

And to be fair, it really isn't hard to find them. It's not like you're necessarily hunting through pages and pages of boards and reading every thread. You go to a high-drama board (1st/2nd/3rd tri, TTGP, etc.), you scroll until you see an enticing title or a thread with pages of responses, click, and skim to see if it's juicy.
